I see what point you were trying to make now. My bad.

I also see no point in making that point. Nearly all bots benefit from stuff deemed "generic" (low centre of gravity, more damaging weapons, better drive, stronger armour, etc). Which, suprisingly, is why it's become "generic!"

Also, I'm glad you saw that as a challenge (seriously). Now, please impress us :)

Midway Arcade Treasures 3... I'll keep an eye out for it.

And yeah, I did mean the arcade machine xD There's one for sale right now on http://www.the-station-online.com, but I don't have $2,500 US, plus shipping, duty, taxes, etc. that I can spare at the moment...

They also have a House of Dead machine there too, but that's even more expensive X.X

*sigh* One day...

I just want to say excellent job to both Mike and Condor for a great final match, and congrats to Condor on the win!

Also, a huge thank you to JoeBlo for hosting a great tourney. The videos were put together great. My only little beef was that the bracket was a bit wierd, but that can be fixed next time. Clash Cubes, if it continues, will become one of the top tourneys here. Again, a big thanks to JoeBlo, and to everyone that competed. Gerat tourney, guys.

Rush 2049 <3

I remember I used to play that game on every ferry ride going to my grandparents house. On one of the boats arcades, I held one of the top times for about three months. I think that they got rid of the machines now... if I can find one, I'd love to buy it. Rush 2049 was the greatest...

Tekken was good too, but only on the huge arcade machines. The console ones just weren't the same.

House of Dead was another good one. I was awful at it, but it was fun. There's nothin' like shooting chainsaw-wielding zombie butchers! :D

Good times indeed...

I have to admit, I really didn't think that Mike would do well. Never underestimate a BBEANS ex-champ then I guess.

The finals should be good. I can see viable scenarios where both bots could win.

'K then. I'll do my best to fill in for the advice master.

The two triangular stabilizers will hinder your wedge's effectiveness with the way they are positioned. Either turn them around, or switch to the straight ones. It also seems a bit on the slow side to me, but a big jump in speed will also decrease stability. Try to get your centre of gravity as low as possible. To do this, I'd mount your razor tips on the small drum segments instead of disks and put maces on their side attachment points (also have the Perm mounted lower somehow...). Then use the weight you gain (4 razors --> 1 mace = 18kg x2 sides = 36 kg) to upgrade your drive (NPC's with Hypno's should be sufficient).

I recommend making a copy of that bot and implementing my suggestions on the copy if you decide to take them. It could be spectacular, or it could fail miserably :P

I apparently have my own "style," so I guess it just comes with experience.

Also, only Click is original anymore. The rest of us are just idea leeches :P

Well, against all odds, I killed Faip De Oiad. I have no idea how though. If it had fired its popup at the end of round 2 before it got flipped, I'd have probably lost that one.

XR had a huge design advantage over FdO. I honestly didn't think that I was going to win that one, and it turns out I was right...

By the time I got you in a position to do some serious damage, you'd already ripped all of my razors off.

You guys are also getting much better at designing popup thwarting bots. The next tourney DSL though, I'll have something different... finally :P

Switch the lightning spikes with razor tips on Iron Tumbleweed. Razors are significantly more powerful.

Whenever I go to to edit HazCon in the bot lab (more accurately, to see it's innards), it somehow forces my computer to re-start. This isn't a big problem, as I can either delete the bot, or import HazCon somewhere else, but I'd just like to know how would such a crash be possible. RA2 has crashed on me countless times before, but nothing has ever forced my computer to automatically re-start itself.

Good match, Mike. Things would've been different if I didn't keep hammering your weapons though! xD

AC next... R4's designed to take out bots like AC, but if it goes anything like the match with CI, I'm in trouble.

EDIT: Also, lookee what I found:

I'd switch to the flat disk panels. It should allow the bot to be more effective when inverted, and also allow all the spikes to hit at once.

Neither did I. You have the razors just fine.
