Modifications / Re: RWRA2: The Ultimate Remix

The thread has really gone off-topic. Here's an example of what I've done. Chaos 2, Panic Attack and Roadblock are AI'd and in their new teams:

The biggest issue you'll have with this is keeping these things balanced, IIRC the replicas in RWRA2 are heavier and more powerful than a lot of the replicas in the older RW Mod, you'd have to completely rebuild them with motors from the mod for them to really be useable.

When RWRA2+ was released I did something similar to this and rather cheekily built up replicas of Kat 3 & Mega Morg using hidden components that were scrapped in development. The result was extremely jarring, seeing ultra realistic replicas mixing with almost cartoon like replicas, the lack of visual cohesion was too off putting and I ended up deleting it all... Not to be disrespectful to the people that made the mod but I can see why certain things were excluded from release.

I like it a lot, looks really solid and well put together man!

The only minor nit-pick I'd have is that the six red lights look a bit messy from every angle except the top view.

Here to prove that #notallshellspinners are boring and circular, they can also be boring and triangular too!

Special thank you to the people that voted for my BOTM entry! :) It was almost impossible to actually get images of it because it's so... sparse...

Nobody cares about the double post, holy sh** look at that thing. Snake byte's mad extender arm is cool and all but Predaplant is unique.

Kinda want to send you Aphid and Mantis for it to snack on.  :dumb)

Haha, unique is always a good word to hear! Lol I somehow think Mantis in particular wouldn't let itself get eaten ;)

I'm not sure how to feel about this. The main kinda chassis part just looks so fragile and out of scale. :/

Yeah it's disappointing for sure, the original version was framed a lot wider (basically a rebranding of Mega Tento) but it was waaaay too overweight. I did my best to scale it down but because the trap itself takes up a lot of the weight, there isn't enough left over to make a proper frame.

799.0kg Weight
x2 NPC-T64 (Drive)
x1 Beta Motor (Geared)
x2 WP836E Batteries

I've built a lot of really weird looking things over the past few months of being on GTM... this is up there amongst the oddest. I built a venus fly trap robot. The first attempt was around 1500kg so I trimmed it down a little.

I apologise for the bot dump/double post.

- SWEDE SORROW -
P.I.S.S.S V2.png

797.1 Weight
x2 Magmotors (Drive)
x1 E-Tek (Motor)
x2 WP836E Batteries

Despite it's lacklustre efforts in International Wars thus far I figured I'd showcase Swede Sorrow 2. The original Shell Spinner version's weapon was too heavy to spin fast enough to be considered a threat in a fight so I took the weight out of the Shell and into armouring up the centre.

Acid Recluse.png

799.2 Weight
x2 NPC-T64 (Drive)
x1 Beta Motor (Geared)
x2 WP836E Batteries

NPC motors are pretty common for drive so thought I'd give it a go, this time with a non-spinner. Started out with a snake-style motif but quickly devolved into a semi-thor looking robot in green.

I don't like attachemnts, they don't show the whole thing (I've attached it below to demonstrate).  Also, is the original one viewable now?  It's showing up for me

It's been visible to me, I had to double take on the 4th picture in the top row as I thought it was still the in-game replica. Good stuff!

- CONTAGION 1.1 -

Contagion SHW.png

1198.7kg

Modified Contagion into a SHW for Orc's SHW side event, polycarb armour panelling and a much bigger bite than previous. Still a bit of a glass cannon and there's no self righter! Also using this as an opportunity to test the image attachments because I'm not sure if it's actually working for me or not... here's hoping!

If the extenders holding the bugs together break then you'll have three dead bugs and two alive. Motors stop working once they're disconnected from the line to the chassis.

Ah yeah... that kind of put a massive hole in that idea. At least it's only Creepy Crawlies and at the very least they're a fun thing to drive into with SOW.

Stage 1: Looking good.
Stage 2: Wait, these are gonna be huge next to the others.
Stage 3: Wait, how can there be five robots in the arena?
Stage 4: Wait, the white and brown one are connected.

Is it one big machine or is it two machines? Blue/red/yellow looks at a different angle from white/brown, so I'm assuming two big machines with multiple Creepy Crawlies in each?

Haha you got me, it's two bots split 3/2. Each bug has it's own very low powered drive motor & functioning claw and then attached by weak HP extenders with the intention that if the connecting extender breaks the bugs are let loose. Quite unlikely to happen but at least it allows for the possibility of 5 bots working independently. Ignore that, turns out it doesn't work at all.

They are a little on the big side, for scale here's Mega Tento about to cannibalise babysitting the crawlies.

Brilliant, that's a lot smoother than I thought it'd be.

I had the exact same reaction, mate I seriously don't understand how people build so well in stock RA2... credit where credit is due that WBC is insane! Tommy level insane!

Speaking of insane, that's pretty much the tagline of my mental state after putting these together...

801.5kg

x4 Magmotors (Drive Motor)
x1 Magsnapper (Weapon Motor)
x2 WP836E Batteries

So, this is the base of Drillroid shamelessly reused with a flipper in place of the over the top drill! It's a shame it's a tad overweight in it's current form... remind me to swap a steel panel for titanium at some point.

I feel guilty for semi-spamming GTM recently, I have a busy few weeks ahead so it'll slow down I promise!
