Off-Topic Discussion / Re: Video Games Made into Movies« on: March 03, 2012, 09:02:21 PM »
Just one thing I seen:
TRON: Legacy isn't a video game made into a movie. It is the sequel to the original TRON from 1982, which begat 2 video games: TRON and Discs of TRON. 123

It could also be that your RAM isn't seated correctly. You should first try to pull apart the clips holding your RAM in place, take out the RAM, and put the stick(s) back in to your motherboard.
If the long beep continues, then it would be advised to do what the others said and replace your RAM. 124

...wait a minute. Just noticed like a moron that you also have 2 Mag Snappers on there. Each Mag uses 4.5 batteries worth of power, which means in total you need 16 ant batteries to fully power the robot.
However, those Mag snappers are the single worst burst motor in the game. The battery consumption coupled with lack of power versus the BSG's essentially cripples it. You should downgrade those Mags to BSG's. EDIT: I realized that, S_M. I don't know what I was looking at. 125

By a fitting battery setup, he means to put in the right amount of batteries for the robot's power consumption.
At current state, you have 6 BattlePacks, which is equivalent to 15 ant batteries (the small orange ones). With your setup, you only need a minimum of 7 batteries: 1 for each drive motor and 2.5 for each BSG. This will give it enough power to go for the full 3 minute fight, though you may be a touch low on power towards the end. For that, you should probably have somewhere around 8 or 9 ant batteries in the robot. Those numbers above, of course, are dependent on using your BSG's as flippers or not. 126
Tournament Archives / Re: Blades of Fury^2 SBV« on: February 14, 2012, 05:20:49 PM »My favourites would be Fall Into Obscurity, Trilobite and Billet 3. Although Flood and Steel Arrow look a bit like substandard DSL to me, I'm afraid. Also Metal Hinge Wedges = Poor show. NFX, I must remind you that Flood 2 is the Battlebots 3 MW Champion, so it has been accepted into IRL tournaments before. Do you want me to put in Flood 2.1? 127

Most N00by Robot: American Samoa (or as I like to call it, Cannon Fodder)
Favorite Bot: Bio Rex The Bot that should have done worse, but didn't since it was awesome: Dent 128

Nice to see you again, RFS.
Anyway, I've been scouring the old Battlebots website, and nothing is coming up. Same goes for Google Images and Yahoo Images, but I have a feeling you've already done that. I wish I could be of more help, sir. EDIT: Have you tried contacting either roboteer for said picture? I couldn't find Derek Young (or his e-mails) all that well, but I found Will Wright's pretty quickly. Here's the webpage with his various addresses for contacting: http://stupidfunclub.com/contact.html I hope that this helps something. 129

Oh... oh boy. Natef didn't get a bot in?
*sigh* Well, time to finally be resigned to the "one and done" fate. 132
DSL TC Showcases / Re: Mr. AwesumSauce's very cute D-Spaghetti-L fatcase« on: January 31, 2012, 10:07:06 PM »Needs better drive And considering the robot's size, that can be done. Essentially, get yourself the normal Robot Control Unit, get rid of the tail, and lighten up the extender work for the weapon to Polycarb. Weight wise, that should save you about 11 kg. That will afford you to get NPC's on there with no problem. Also, change those Micros to Rubber Wheels. They're the same weight, and Rubbers are generally better than Micros. 133

For Fail or Flail, have you ever thought about lowering the armor and adding on a Spiked Club instead of that Mace?

I'm somewhat worried about R0B0 too. The only way I'm going to beat him is if I mount the robot, take off the weapon, and let it drive off with me on top. The other two I'm not so worried about. Vrooom will try to flip me, but will run into my anti-flip spikes as I eventually come back down and rip off everything it holds dear. As for American Samoa, it'll turn into a hockey puck within 30 seconds.

As of now, around 20 sites including the MPAA, RIAA, and the Justice Department are all down from Anonymous.

My bot is a direct up-scale of my 3 ever MW, a Fire-Axe VS with plow stabilisers. The main reason I say that is in its current pictured form, the robot is just a few sledgehammers away from looking like a revised version of Alien Queen. 140

Any robot with the word Radiation in it doesn't seem terribly nooby to me.
Otherwise, well built for all of you. |
