Tournament Archives / Re: Light vs Dark: Rematch SBVA« on: September 13, 2017, 02:25:54 PM »@AS Are the spike strips statically mounted? Because they do an impressive amount of damage. I think the flamethrowers are certainly burning up the motors at the least. The spike strips kill, but the flamethrowers definitely rack up points and help wear down the motors and components. @AS Are the spike strips statically mounted? Because they do an impressive amount of damage. They're on skirt hinges because those are easier to angle than trial-and-error'ing a static setup. Just pretend it's a row of chainsaws, or something. Chainsaws do not even remotely work that way. Or saws if we're being completely honest. 123

Firstly, let's spare a thought for Gulden who's gonna have another Paladin war on his hands.
Secondly, let's ignore that thought and argue anyways. AS's pinner could not work the way it does in-game in real life. It just couldn't. A rammer, wammer, pinner or sumo-bot (or any particular bot type that is blunt-force based) should not be able to sit under an opponent effectively immobile and straight-up kill it. Like, at least with Paladin it has to beat your wedges and flip you OOTA (even though that tends to be piss-easy with 3 bursts, but I digress). You just sit under them, cook the motors and tear off any armor with the spike strips. And using Bad Attitude, a robot that used repeated rams and JD's to win fights instead of the (basically useless) blades on the wedge as an excuse is laughable considering that the blades on the RA2 robot have frequency from the skirt hinge they are mounted on. 125

Day 4: Still no Robogames video. Losing hope. Death seems the most appealing option right now. Help.

Man, all we need is The Red Blur to start posting again and we can go back to 2015, when Ironforge wasn't dead and I didn't hate 80% of the people on the forums.

Probably won't be entering because Stock, but it's good for the forum to have other mods run than DSL-IRL.

what we need to do is make a sh** bot for botm, call the filename something incredibly offensive and then when he comes online spam PM's at him till he stays and fixes his sh**.

if we all screech loud enough trov will have no choice but to revert the change he made that borked the wiki
(but for real just de-link wiki accounts from GTM accounts, because iirc that's what's causing the issue) 136

Yugitom's profile says he was active yesterday. He's active, yet he's blatantly putting no time into this tournament or updating. Just hand it over to somebody else, or just cancel it.

That's just DSL 2.2 mate. Anyways, feel free to just patch in some other AI. Live Designs for DSL 2.1 is still knocking about. |
