Dang... I just tried this on my new bot. Exact same weapon setup and everything, but a good deal more compact, and it doesn't work. It worked 2 times before, perfectly, but for some reason, it doesn't this time. my maces are all messed up. Does anyone have a solution to this? How can I get them to balance? Or is there no way besides rebuilding...

Well its not nearly done, but here it is as it stands now. Its basically my attempt to make a more compact version of my other HS, deadlights.

To mount the weapons on, is it better to use a longer extender as opposed to a shorter one? I was thinking, and a weapon at the end of a longer extender, if the motor is spinning at a constant velocity, would pack more punch, than one at the end of a shorter one. Thing is, I'm not sure if the game understands this concept, and I'm not sure if it applies it... It wouldn't be too much of a jump, I'm trying to decide between 40cm and 60cm extenders. What does everyone think?

Now that I really look at it, I think they are all messed up.

I don't know if this has been found or not but apparently there is an issue with being unable to balance maces if the were placed using the effe glitch. Well I was suffering with the same problem with my 27 irons hs, so I found a great solution. I used an extender setup where I had a 20cm extender like pointed towards the floor at the end of a 40cm extender. I think absolute chaos has the same setup. Anyways, I couldn't get my maces to balance after mounting them using the effe glitch. So, I deleted all of my maces, and replaced them with iron spikes which weigh the same (10kg) as the maces. Since the iron spikes have a smaller diameter, they didnt require the effe glitch to mount, just some careful turning. Once my bot had the 27 iron spikes, I would adjust my burst motors so that my 3 motors were almost perfectly inside of eachother and everything was balanced right. THEN, and this is the important part.... I deleted all the iron spikes on the end of one of my 9 arms and used the effe glitch to replace them with maces. Delete the 3 iron spikes at the end of one arm and use effeing to add 3 maces to where they were. Delete, add, delete add. Repeat this until all of the iron spikes have been replaced with maces. At the end, the maces mounted using the effing glitch will be just as balanced as the iron spikes were. AND, if you hit f12, all of the maces are lined up and where you want them to be. I hope this helps some people out....... Just make sure to balance you iron spikes while they are spinning slowly in the first place. As you can see, I have some empty space, sorry about that. At some point I'll rebuild it with a smaller body. I beat little darling, rabid pitbull, borg queen, and neglected waterbug without too much trouble. Its a great stock bot. I have 3 burst mounted hp zteks that all line up almost perfectly, and its stays that balanced when it spins up.

Yeah, this is all real, I know tankcat in real life and ive seen him trying to get this to work for a while now. Impressive for a dude who just started a few weeks ago. Dude, tank, does building ultralight aircraft help you with this game or what? Haha I told you that 7005 al worked wonders. Later man.

Well, I dont know when I'll be on my server. My mom kicked me out and she disconnected the computer with RA2 and my bots on it. Kinda lame, eh? I have a feeling I'll be back soon.

Ah sorry about the password, I had no idea.. But so far no one including "lurking noobs" has joined up, and frankly I'm getting tired of just tearing other stock bots online apart in less than 20 secs. Getting beat would almost be nice.

I made a new server because the others were either full or people were rarely on. I prefer people to fight with stock bots, but whatever is cool I guess.

You need to download a specail component call an "anti ballast" i believe. Then take it off before you use the bot. Im sure someone with more knowlege will chime is later.

N.o, this is n.ot asking where is everyone is, and yes, I do have Hamach.ie. (Although all the RA2 networks I come by seem to be full...) While basic multiplayer is pretty much dead, there are still quite a few people who get on and enjoy it. Including me. Thing is, so far I have only managed to join 1 game, out of around 20 attempts. What happenes most of the time is it says "incompatible program versions," it starts counting down from 10 and it gets to one and nothing happens, or it starts counting down from 10 gets to around 4 and then the countdown vanishes and nothing happens. I have the downloaded version of this game, and i have downloaded the 1.3 patch already. Any clue how to fix this problem, or why its doing this? Thanks.

Well, I repaired RA2 and rebuilt my main HW and managed to recover the other. Thank you for all of the help everyone.

Ok, well is there any way to fix my game? I just did a system search, and the 2 bots I actually care about arent there.. i searched under robot designs, and teams.

Hello, I was told by some others on multiplayer to download the 1.3/ newest patch from robotarena.com. I did and now when i try to play the game, the screen comes up grey, with my cursor still active. When I minimize it and bring it back up my cursor has become a small white square... I have 3 bots saved to that game and nowhere else, if I reinstall, I'll lose them I think. I worked really hard on them, and it took me a while. Is there anyway at all to fix my game? FYI I dont have the disk, I downloaded the game off the RA2 site. Thanks.
