Real Robotics Discussion / Re: Battery power question
« on: August 16, 2015, 04:49:33 PM »
No, a motor can take more voltage than its nominal. Overvolting will increase both speed and power(as well as amp draw), but is harder on the motor. Some motors can take a lot more voltage than it supposed too, and some fry if you attempt it. In general, brushed motors can take overvolting, some can take as much as four times as much voltage as there supposed to, but brushless motors typically can't take more voltage than specified, and most are optimized for what voltage their set for anyway.

An idea of what motors your planing on using would be nice.

Uh, no. Not at all. Everything gets 7.4V.
Also, why are you using 7.4 volts? Unless you have a serious weight problem, you don't need to hamper your self. Go with 11.1 volts.

Why are you attaching images to the post like a caveman? There is an image host attached to the forum for a reason you know.

They claim these are for rock crawlers, but we all know who they're really selling these too.

Whats the point of the blades on the wedge extenders if they don't go past the ramplates?

Current challenge, fit less than 37 grams of wire, chassis, screws, and other junk into a robot weighing only 150 grams.

How do the Brits do it?

Add this
Withthis
With one of these
And this with this, and this combined with this
And presto! You've got your self a spinner ant. Just be warned that even a one pound spinner bot can be .

Huh! Team Whyachi themselves helped build Nightmares new disc! Didn't know. But that is a nice littlepiece of trivia. Also, still wondering why Jim took off the wheel guards vs Warrior Clan. Didn't specify. But, apparently there'll be grudge matches! Cant wait.
Team Whyachi makes custom parts all the time, take a look at their sample page, you might recognize some of the parts.

If you haven't checked already, Team Nightmare updated their website. It includes new information on Nightmare and the HW version of Breaker Box, plus a new bot I didn't even knew they built.
Check it out here:

Why are you trying to take out the orange wire, you're supposed to take out the red(middle) wire.

I figured it was close enough to red, and it was the only middle wire I could find.  What am I missing?

Mostly poor image quality, but the middle wire is the one you want to pull, as that is the wire for voltage in.

Yeah it says in the description that they fought with Rocket in Bot Bash.

Say hi to Landshark. Don't worry, he's friendly unless you weigh 6lbs and happen to be a fighting robot.
Thats one hell of a washboard there.
