Hmm... Maybe I should enter a really incredibly gay flyer that stays out of the tabletop while bots reach him by OOTa :trollface

Aerodactyl?

Excellent work. I really like how you lined up the components there. Very well thought-out.

Chiefs, quick Q...can anybody suggest some decent, affordable (let's say sub-£75) over-ear headphones?

These are by far the best budget Over-ear headphones I have ever owned.

They sound incredible for the price.  I compared them to Dre's Beats, Soul, Several Sony, and Skullcandy... it killed all of them.

Edit: I used that ebay link for reference. you might be able to find a seller closer to you.

Since Clickbeetle probably wont see this to comment I will channel his thoughts telepathically.

Clickbeetle:  "It pleases me to see that you are using flipper segments the way they are intended."

Looks awesome btw.

Well that is a good start at IRL building :D

Narys advice is correct.

I suggest having the chassis slope to match your wedge, that way the sides look solid and asthetically pleasing.  Having just a sheet for a wedge looks somewhat silly.

Glad to see you trying something different!

And well done for getting past the buying parts stage. That's where most people look at the cost and say "Nah I'll not bother". There are still some parts missing though as far as I can see.

I don't think they bought any of those parts. I think they killed some poor old lady on a motorized wheelchair and cannibalized it.

Ninja Rope: Worms series (always got in so much trouble with that thing)

Napalm: Scorched Earth (epic... especially if you get it inside the opponents shield)

I might upgrade soon.  But, for now, this phone does just fine for me.

Looks slick. Whenever I try to make a bot with the wheels lined up like that the wedge always seems to suck.  Not sure why.

Needs moar yellow and black caution skin though.

Out of curiosity, why does the amount of comments in your showcase concern you so much?  Is it because you want more feedback to become a better builder?  Is it because you want praise for your accomplishments or designs?

I will give you some honest feedback here that might help you.  You give a lot of feedback and suggestions in other showcases.  Some suggestions are good and some are terrible.  It results in you getting praise for your guidance or scolded for your ignorance.  Because of that, I (personally) have no motivation to give you advice in your showcase and that might be the case with others as well because I really have no idea what advice you take seriously.

You will likely get the best advice from 123stw, Nary, or Urjak because they seem to have a great grasp on the "effective" side of DSL building.  (which appears to be where you aim)

There is a bunch of us on the "IRL" Bot side of building that wont be able to give you good feedback other than "Looks cool bra! Good job!"

Also, bear in mind, because this game is a billion years old... DSL "effective" building has mostly reached it's peak.  Improvisations are hard to come by and innovation is almost impossible to claim.

IRL and "Coolness Factor" Will always have a lot more room for praise because you can never truly reach the peak of imagination and innovation.

Want some comments?  Try to make a replica.  Try to make an IRL bot that is incredibly different and imaginative.  Disregard effective building and explore.  See how that goes for you.

Screamager: Therapy?

This was the song that got me into Alternative / Hard Rock.  Once I heard this song, everything that resembled mainstream pop just didn't appeal to me anymore.  After that my mindset shifted to: "Whoa! What else is out there that's not on the radio?"  I pretty much became kinda snobby about it too.  If a song was overplayed on MTV or radio... I forced myself to not like it.  Because Therapy? isn't very popular in the U.S. they became my signature "rebel against mainstream" band of choice.

Setting Sun:  The Chemical Brothers

Techno? What is that? What is this madness that is being forced into my ears? Holy mother! This is awesome! What you say? Europe has been enjoying techno for years? OMG! What have I been missing? ---- Yeah.  Chemical Brothers started my love for techno. From there I discovered Daft Punk, Future Sound of London, Leftfield, Orbital, etc etc etc.

Some interesting quick paced song from the Sega Genesis game "Road Rash 2" which later inspired looking into songs by Nine Inch Nails.

So yeah, my cousin and I were playing Road Rash 2 and we heard a song that was all sorts of awesome.  He said it sounded like a similar song by Nine Inch Nails that he heard on the radio. Well, from there I proceeded to pick up "Pretty Hate Machine".  From there I became a huge fan of Trent's work.  I was a diehard NIN fan until "the Downward Spiral" became mainstream and popular with people at my school.  I got really pissed and sold all my NIN CD's on ebay. (Which I regret to this day).

Hmm. That's pretty much it. I don't think any other songs changed my life more than those.

If you're just ignoring the downreps then it's less than 50-50 because most of GFs rep ups are to fix "wrongs that shouldn't have occured".

How dare you contradict me!  *downrep marty*
