I think NFX has forgotten about this thread.
What's the time limit on tournaments now? Is it an average rate of 2 videos per month?
Better step it up Mr. NFX...

Also, @Joe: Why isn't my very slightly updated version of Fire Ant in the splash? I sent it to you basically right after the first one.
Most likely the pics were taken before the updated one and I didnt think that far ahead :P (Pics were taken ages ago)
Dont stress though the updated one is present in my game.. I saved all the bot files in the robot designs folder with the files named the builders names.. if you updated I overwrote the old.
I will double check but im 99% sure I already have it in..
Also I forgot to apologize for the fact Polycarb showed up quite green on the splash for everyone :P
Oh, WHEW. That explains a lot. ...Just double-check you have Whipscorpion from me and not Thwack 3, will you? Doesn't hurt to make sure. Edit: yay, plenty of flippers and VS's for me to eat. I hope Naryar wins his fight, though I may still be able to beat NFX if I can hit that motor.

If Ice Phoenix wins, ima be so upset. IT CAN'T DO ANYTHING. looks shouldn't be everything in BOTM. like I would rather have #8 win.
Quoted for truth. I don't mind if a cool-looking bot wins, but if looks are the only thing it has then that makes me unhappy.
I voted for #1. Although I don't like the design overall, from what I see it's the most combat-effective machine here.
No one had a problem with 123's Christmas Reindeer... why all the hatin' on Ice Phoenix? :P Also, unless I'm mistaken, Bruce isn't very much more effective. It only has 8 razors that can actually hit stuff. It would be much better with axe heads or moar razors instead of ice picks, but the ice picks give it a really cool 'shark-mouth' look (especially with the shark tooth skin), which is why I classed it as an artbot. Anyway, I put it in the BOTM uploader without the skinned maces and iron spike.

!! at least people can see that the axle weapons work lol
But apparently not as well as angle motors. :P I bet your bots would have done better if the AI used a lower ThresholdSpeed though. They spent too much time running away.

*scrolls down* cool,cool,cool,cool,cool,cool,cool,coo--wait, what is that? It's always hard to decide what to vote for with so many entries. Chimera looks like the best fighter but Ice Phoenix and Bruce are both quite cool artbots... And I still have no idea what #8's name is. o_O
As near as I can tell it's a horribly misspelled Terrorism. Edit: You're not fooling anyone Sage... I notice a distinct pattern in your comments.

Would the walker be an AW?
It will be very interesting to see what you will come up with that is both terrifying and hilarious at the same time...

Nice bot, kind of like Patriot but more trappy.
But if you mean to replace the syllable 'for' with '4' in the name, you're doing it wrong. It should be Lethal 4ce. The way it is now, if you write it out, it's 'fororce'. :P

Does that seriously only have 1 battlepack or are there hidden ants? Where is all the weight? I'm quite sure DoA2 has 4 ants.
Oh, and yes it is klone much. :P

If the goal is to beat flippers you might want to think about finding a way to make that invertible...
Also, fast NPC's with Technos are better (at least in terms of speed).
Looks powerful though.

Yeah DSL3 is kind of being done on a when-I-have-time-and-I'm-not-distracted-by-other-RA2-stuff basis.
I was not aware the Ocean Platform was ever broken; if you mean the in-game tournament event with it, then I believe that has been fixed.

Which has always been weak to HS's in any case (see FIXXXER vs. Flail).
That said, Kill IV is not a bad bot. A bit overkill on batteries, but that's really the only thing to possibly complain about. 3 irons + 6 razors is quite good weaponry for a LW.

Well, for one thing it needs a wedge. You can probably fit a Snapper 2 in between the baseplate anchor and the batteries.
For two things it should have a weapon rack in front instead of a plow, because side hammers struggle with having enough weapons and it's important to armor the front.
For three things there should be some razors on the DDTs.
And for four things, you could make full use of those Snapper II's and put the drive on the other attach point and then shrink the chassis.

That's a lot of maces. 18?

« on: February 26, 2011, 10:14:47 PM »
Yeah definitely put the DDTs in front of the Snappers. Then you can also swing the razors back into the chassis further, so they travel further before hitting the opponent and get bigger hits.
But, why is it named Unholy Trinity? I see nothing in threes.

That actually works?
I've fiddled with axle popups in higher weight classes but I decided it wasn't very effective.
I must clone that bot and test it for myself.
*goes to download AW chassis*

Well that bot doesn't have a wedge so it shouldn't matter if it's a little bouncy, right? It's cool how DSL-esque the design is. Kind of like Root Beer. And 24 maces is a lot for a stock VS

Hmm, that's weird. I wonder what happened to those videos. Well, I've still got them on my computer so they're re-uploading now.

Hey Scorpion, it's actually Drumblebee D3, not V3. The 'D' stands for DSL (to separate it from the stock Drumblebees). Also I think everyone is overestimating what my bot is capable of. It looks more dangerous than it is. And I wonder how many people actually tested their bot in the CC3 qualifying arena. I noticed when testing Drumblebee D3 that a lot of bots start out stuck in the floor or wall. Some of those huge VS's might have a nasty surprise waiting for them...

We used to say that HW HS's needed 2 Supervolts, no exceptions...
But yeah, HPZ drive on the popup will help. Not against other wedges so much, but speed is essential to get under spinners before they sweep you to the side and/or kill you.

I guess the thing I'm wondering is whether the random rotation of the axle makes it any better than just making a rammer. Does it increase damage that much?
