Good, and then I'm pirating all of her tech so I can make games myself ^^
Gah! That made me chuckle so I repped you up. But... I accidentally clicked on the rep down arrow instead. Mein Bad! Just figured I would let you know so you didn't feel bad.

Excellent! I really like that design Urjak.
One tip: When I make drum bots using light dsl teeth similar to your design, I rotate the second extender 90 degrees and attach the second set of teeth that way. I found it was more effective for damage, but also protected the extenders a bit more because the exposed flat surface is less prone to being hit. Does that make sense? For Heavyweights with longer drums I usually make something akin to my Steel Reign replica from last year.

It worked, updating to Python 3.2. I declare this problem solved.
Awesome! Glad you got through the mess. Stick around, show bots and join the fun. You seem cool. We need fresh blood. Oh Snap... I forgot... your blood is not fresh. :P

How 'bout we stick the RPing to Story Time?
Agreed. It's cool that you guys and gals really dig fantastical imagery, but its taking over some threads like Godzilla stomping through a village.

Just out of curiosity... is there another computer in the household that you can try to install it on just to see if it is an extraction problem.
If you can successfully install it on another computer, then you will know that you at least have the steps nailed... then the problem really becomes trying to find out why your original computer doesn't like the game (Vista related maybe...)
Just a thought.

JD did a pretty good job of imitating a JoeBlo splash this BOTM... I really thought Joe made that.
I wouldnt call that imitating.. JD has some good candy skills of his own.. just doesn't enter very much so people haven't picked up on it to much..
He name doesnt always come to mind when trying to figure out splashes.. yet mine does despite not entering the last 2-3 BOTM's :P
It's not just the quality of the candy, it's also the text layout, the color scheme, and the big closeup shot of the bot in the middle, stuff like that. It just looks like one of your splashes. The only thing that threw me off was the fact that it's a Robot Wars replica, which you've never been known to do.
Thanks! Being compared to Joe's splashes is a compliment in my book. :D Now I need to imitate a Clickbeetle splash...

Screw Reserves. If anyone accidentally makes the same bot as somebody else... you should have them fight it out in a vs wildcard to determine the better bot. (before the main bracket that is)
That way people will be more mindful of trying to build a bot that nobody else might select. :D

Congrats HA for getting a girlfriend. As much as I love this game and forum... girlfriends are better. Can we all come to the wedding?

I did USFirst robotics for one year. I wasn't very tech savvy at the time, so I couldn't contribute much. I drew up the design for the team tee-shirts and I was one of the only team members with a car (So i got to haul their asses to the competitions).

Can't wait. This is going to be lulzy and entertaining! My bot is so insanely slow, I can't imagine it pulling off a win.

I noticed that a lot of the tournaments that made it through were new ones. Hardly any old tournaments made it through. Not just this one, but Box of Nightmares didn't get enough votes either which made me disappoint.
Do people lose interest that quickly? Or do they fear the host has lost interest after so long waiting for the poll?
I voted for the tourneys that were fresh in my memory at the time. I don't think this thread was very active when voting started... So people probably spaced out about it. Apologies STC I would have voted for yours had I put a bit more brain power into it. Hopefully it will get through on the next round or something. Try not too feel too discouraged.

Unique bot. I tried building something similar to that a while back... I was testing how the chassis would react to the floor of the arena with weight distribution similar to that.
Needless to say, the wedges failed on mine too.
Great effort though!

I joined Fall of '06 or Spring of '07. Wanted a game that was better than Robot Wars for PS2. Picked RA2 up on eBay for 10 bucks plus shipping. Joined the forums right after that.
Been mostly active since. Though I do take my breaks away from the game for several months depending on how hectic life is.

Also, whilst you're here, nice work on that Victor 2 rep :D
Thanks man! I think that it lost in the same way that an actual Victor 2 would have lost in the same situation. Which is like a replica grand-slam for me. :D
