Near Chaos Robotics at RG2006-

Angry Little Person- 0-2
Battery and speed controller fried in first match against VDD4.0, didn't fight a second time

Ruiner- 1-2
1: Whack- Some good hits, broke the magmotor while KOing Whack
2: Pitbull- Got high centered, pitbull cut off the reciever wire. KO'd
3: Did not fight.

Time to redesign and rebuild for the next event.

A beater could easily be made with a few extenders and some of the drum teeth.

F-Bomb/Relic replica. Sucks in combat, but looks at least decently close.

Cthulhu- Iron spikes act like tentacles as this ancient beast devours your soul.

One of my teams

Just these two for now. More will show up later.

in RA2 world, I think vertigo would be the more effective opponent, though if stingray is treated more as a rammer then a spinner, it could work well.

You don't need skills to build a bot, just patience.

Ruiner is the payoff of 5 years of work. I started seriously researching and learning during 8th grade. I've got through 4ish designs, and have at least one that I completely scrapped after getting it 80% done.

The current version has been in the works for over a year. One of the major delays was the chassis, as I was having trouble finding a welder.

If you can afford the parts, and use the tools(or find someone that can), you can build a bot.

That thing would do well as grasscutter. And I think there could be some sort of gearing for the blade so it would take up the speed much faster in tight combat situations.

But that looks very mean robot for the first build up.

It gets to a dangerous speed pretty fast. The top speed is probably near 2750rpm or so which gets me about 9.5kj of energy and a tip speed of 230ish mph

it's first competition is Robolympics 2006.

There's one problem left to fix, then it will be ready.

I may have missed it being mentioned, but weapon heads shaped like the spinner bars would be great, that, or upping the damage the bars themselves can do.
