I'd rather not see people cal dibs on entire teams,

Okay, that's fair.  I have some ideas for the Steelyard Dogs, particularly the extra bots, but no telling how soon I'll be able to build them.  If someone else beats me to it, fair enough.

Go on. It'll be nice if SYD will have a bot in each weightclass, but build as you want.

tfw when i want to enter and r0b0 isn't here

People may call dibs on stuff, even if it has nothing official (it's more like "may or may not build X"), yes.

I'd rather not see people cal dibs on entire teams, however, you are free to "claim" some bots in Spike Heads, yeah. You'll be able to submit full teams as you desire (well, apart from a few conventions) once we are done with the original teams.
Oh okay then, I can do the extra bots for Team Dragon if you let me.
Send me stuff then. You can rebuild old nar ai bots, or do your own stuff, as long as it's team dragon-y.

Modifications / Re: NAR AI v3.1 for DSL 2.2
« on: March 14, 2016, 09:27:38 AM »
Hello, I have decided to remake NAR AI for DSL 2.2.

First of all I will simply remake all the bots from the original DSL teams, from Red Zone to Arthrobotics. The replicas are out, as this is a DSL standard pack. Use the RWRA2 mod if you want replica fights.

If the bot is not DSL-S it will be rejected. You should know what DSL-S is.

I am looking for good builders to help me rebuild the teams. All credit will be given where it's due. You may "claim" bots so that others do not build them, but it is an unofficial claim. First to send a bot for a position will claim it's position. If I get a better bot, however, I may replace it.

First version will be a simple AI pack. There will be NO total conversion and no component modding. I am not planning to mod DSL 2.2 unless it is necessary.

As always, the team setup (inspired by Starcore packs) will be LW/MW/HW/anything goes/anything goes/anything goes.

Other allowed weightclasses are AW (125.0 max), BW (175.0 max), SHW (1200.0 max) and I am thinking about a 2500 kg weightclass, but for now I'm not sure. As in Starcore packs, put the AW-, BW- or SHW- suffix before the bot name. CW (600) is also up to consideration, but I'm not sure.

There are quality controls in : do not send replicas, jokebots, IRL bots or bots that are poorly built. If you are new and not very skilled in DSL, better wait until you are better to build stuff.

I am also wanting to follow a theme in the original teams. As for the themes, please rebuild bots so they are actually successors to the bots (This only applies to the original DSL 2.1 bots : the three extra bots need not to be rebuilds of the bots found in previous nar ai bots). A bit of change is accepted if it is interesting, as in a but team dragon full of SnS with no samurai swords/ninja stars isn't team dragon anymore. If you want, you can take inspiration from the Stock AI bot, instead of the DSL rebuild, to make your bot.

Note that the theme isn't meant to be followed to the letter. If your bot fits well in the team theme-wise, I'll get your bot in.

The skin is supposed to look cool and unique

what i mean is that the various colors clash with each other.

did the skinning involve this bot, a paint can shop, and a drunk elephant ? the colors are a mess

i get the finnish flag, but then theme the rest of the bot around colors that are close to blue and white please

i dont mind the use of cheat components since this is custom but the champion's sword is kinda supposed to be champion only

i see you are using the nar ai skins though and approve. that chaos decal especially, and the orange control board

-wheels are indeed too large
-round extenders are indeed better
-you need to use the large black batteries for that. two should be enough, or one black battery plus a nifty. in stock avoid the pink batteries, and nifties are limited in their effective use AKA lightweights and some low power middleweights, and the occasional "i need a bit more power" moment.
-high power Ztek drive is needed, instead of normal ztek drive.

you got the no empty space rule well.

That's pretty good for a starting showcase. However, you need frontal armor and something to trap bots, and not very high chassis armor. Use plows in a wide V-setup.
