Some good battles so far. Soul Provider looks quite effective and could become a dark horse. (I still don't get how it outweaponed SBFC so easily.) And CubeShark did surprisingly well considering how much of a disadvantage it is at in terms of weapon weight and drive power.

That is brilliant!
It even has the chute on the side where the grain pours out! I would have made chains of beater bars on the edges of discs to make an eggbeater weapon, but I guess Dreadnought discs work too. Also you'd probably be better off with single Mags for drive since the dual Mags are only weapon motors, not drive. (It won't be much faster, it will just save some weight.) 1104

By my definition, a saw bot is just any bot that uses saws as weapons.
Proof: If you replaced the saws on that prototype bot with discs and razors, it would be a VS, not a sawbot. The saws are what make it a sawbot, not any design feature. 1105

I can still name the SHW version that.

Ooohhhh I see it now. Clever. That's why the Perm needs to be so high.

GEE, I WONDER WHAT TOURNAMENT THIS
![]() 2WD NPC fasts with hypnos, 4 ants, 6-mag powering the bowl. It's no tournament champion, but it does fight better than the original and it's a proper HW (the original was 930-something kgs). I guess the thing to do now is give it 4WD (I certainly have enough room in there), add more front armor and perhaps more weapons. Oh, and the wedges AGOD no matter what I do, but they're still good enough to half-get under the HW Popup in 123AI (one wedge gets under but not the other) and fully get under lesser-wedged bots. Good enough for a joke bot IMO. 1108

DSL TC Showcases / Re: SM's DSL off-topic-case« on: March 27, 2011, 07:53:57 PM »ALSO, RANDOM POLY SHEET IS RANDOM.Needed for realism. ? It looks to me like the weapon rack intersects the whole width of the front wedge, which makes it unrealistic regardless of whether or not there's a random poly sheet in the middle. Why not flip the angled Ti skirts out for a wider wedge and a bit more realism? 1110

Were those Galactuses (Galacti?) AI'd?
Would've been fun to have Phasmatodean in there too. 1111
Stock Showcases / Re: Scrap Daddy Design« on: March 27, 2011, 06:25:08 PM »Sad thing about stock flails is they so heavy. Also that they're not limited so they will spin around backwards, exposing the weak extenders and increasing spinup time. Cool bot, could be an upgrade to The Possessed Bee. 1112

I remember trying to make a bot much like that way back when I first got Starcore 2.
The problem is, saws just aren't good weapons, but if you're really determined, here's some pointers. -Chew blades are 4 kgs lighter than the lightest saw blade and have the same stats. -Saws have frequency, so the best way to use them is on an overhead clamp-bot or some other kind of trapper where you can hold the opponent on your saws. So a good way to use some of the extra weight on that prototype bot would be to make rear and side plows to hold bots on the saws, like a juggler. -Saws don't need to spin to do damage--you can also use axle mounts effectively if you're short on weight. ![]() 1113

I'm guessing the reason I can still see the results is because I'm an admin, and not because ACAMS done goofed.
Wanna know who's in the lead? Do you? It's a close race between 1114

Try using a separate skirt hinge for each wedge. I've noticed that when you put two or more wedges on one skirt hinge, it usually turns out bad, but if you just use a single wedge, it can be as good as a metal hinge.

Minor Disturbance looks pretty good from what I can see. I'd worry about Havok with such a small chassis though.
But yeah, the HW needs some work. 1117

Moar weapons?
Or just replace the weapon piston you have now with one on the Snapper, so the bot can be invertible. 1119
Stock Showcases / Re: Wacky Bob's Stock Showcase« on: March 20, 2011, 09:43:06 PM »
Giving it a sloped front would also help, so the weapons will more easily hit stuff. Like a wammer.

He means put the drive directly on one attach point of the Snapper, and put the piston on the other attach point. Rather than having your drive on the piston.
