You know you can focus on both looks and effectiveness as long as it is IRL ? After all no one would realistically enter a tournament in real life to lose.

That wedge was just fine by Massimov's rules. Don't let yourself be intimidated by other builders.

You should work on your paintjob so it's cooler though. Also why is it 10kg underweight ? Add another ant battery or moar armor.
Just wanted to get your opinion nar, what is the better design, Chew 1 or Chew 2? Chew 1 actually got badder reviews and Massimo said it was dumb but it is the better design by MILES.

But I will add these things and compare the two

this is mainly true i build for looks and effectiveness but am just bad at both of them
the bolded part isnt true joke bots always gotta screw with logic
Yeah but at the end of the day, this is a fun activity to do, even the serious bots IRL always helped others and were very sporting

Now it has a worthless wedge and you're gonna get outwedged by anything else.
But it's an IRL tournament and I must focus on the looks Oh b***** I'm gonna die, Should I add the wedge or use Chew1? because Chew1 is soooo much better srimech and design wise

1083
i think there are too many npc logos and biohazard signs on it but  the base paint job is cool
Ok I'll bear that in mind, maybe I might just enter only a MW and a LW, my HW's not that good
Anyways Chew 2;

Thoughts?

DP

After discussing with Craaig I'll be scrapping the replicas and doing a basic single elim tourney using the GTMer entrants to salvage my tourney record. Not sure if I should make a new thread or not
Trovaner's online, ask him

You'd do better to enter something new and unshowcased so the judges don't know whose bot their looking at o:
touché, gonna keep it under lock and key

Yeah I like Mortis, would look better in DSL 3 without angle connectors in my opinion

Have I Got News For You.
Off-topic: this is an amazing show

your bots are kinda messy, you need to learn how to simplify them.
That's kind of difficult, I'm a complicated person

I like the colour scheme of the skin, it could probably look really nice if done in HD outside of RA2. I might even try that on one of my robots, thinking about it...
Here it is:
Front hinged flipper named Throwback, because I thought it looked like a series 2 or 3 robot wars bot:

(Image removed from quote.)
Love it love it love it!! Big fan of front hinged flippers

DP:

And I made a different skin and renamed VU into...

RADIOACTION!!!

I think it looks better now, I need to find time to implement these changes

This sounds good... maybe I'll enter it

Again, I reckon removing the wedge (whilst making it not as good in combat) would make it look cooler.
Bringing the disk forward a little (if possible) and making it slightly wider may offset this by making it easier to attack stuff :P
Skin looks alright to me, but a weapon slot would make it look nicer, and it would obviously be better done in HD.
Hmmm...  to be perfectly honest, I think it looks cooler with the wedge, so I'll keep this design and tommorow I'll make a Chew 2 with all these improvements and compare the two to see which is the better design, But I'll try and do a different skin with mspaint :gunz: and thanks for the advice!

Looks a little messy maybe, but I kinda like it. I reckon if the flipper didn't stick out quite so far from the chassis, and the wedges were removed,  it would look better.

Also, what are the hex-plates attached to?
Has potential, keep up the building :)
The hex plates are for aesthetics, the flipper I will see what I can do about and thanks!
Any thoughts on Chew?

1096
appart from an ugly paintjob and against the rules wedges and a weird looking flipper and exposed wheels it`s a chassis
Can easily change the paintjob
against the rules? It's a skirt hinge raised a notch
weird looking flipper- I actually like it, doesn't matter
exposed wheels- can't really do anything about that

any other thoughts?

General Support / Re: Agressive AI
« on: May 15, 2014, 11:45:30 AM »
Hey there

While playing with Whams Robot Wars pack I noticed the AI beeing very agressive against human controlled bots. The AI tends to attack me even though two other AI bots are way closer to it. they even gang up me. I never noticed that before in DSL 2.1 or such. Did Click or Wham change something in the DSL 3 coding? Cause it`s rather annoying since you can`t get in position for a good attack in a rumble or 3 way.
I've had this problem as well, I think Wham might have done something with the AI coding

1099
When have you ever seen a real bot that looks like that with a massive sheet sticking out of the front on a door hinge? :P
Erm... in my mind?

Lol, fixed it, I thought it was allowed, my bad

Forgot to mention, it srimechs using the disc, when ai'd, does it spin when it's upside down?

Other than that, any more thoughts? Please?

1100
Is it only  me or dose savage winters weapon look kind of nazi
Please don't think like that it makes me feel disrespectful and bad :(

But I should cheer up because I've made a much better LW (which I'm about to send to Massimo)

It has a nasty saw blade powered by a piglet, I think the wedge is allowed, 4 ants, astroflights and I think thats it

Thoughts? I'll welcome any feedback
