Real Robotics Discussion / Re: Top 100 UK Robot Wars Robots Of All Time

Recyclopse was the first robot to flip another robot using a flipper. So what's your point?

I DID say I somewhat agreed with you on that.

And before I said the Cassius thing, I WAS originally going to say that I agreed with you considering it flipped Matilda.

I said that because you made it sound like being the first robot to flip another in robot wars was minor in comparison to Cassius being Cassius.

Going by your list, how many "Big Hitters" are there? I.e "You're making a list? These bots have to be in there!"
I'm willing to bet it's not that much.

If you're only allowing one robot per team you may as well call it the top 100 teams in Robot Wars, as it won't truly be the top 100 robots.

Were there even 100 noteworthy teams?

Recyclops started UK robots down the flipper road so it could definitely be in there.

Thank you! Plus it looked bloody awesome.

Sorry, as much as I like those bots, I find it unfair to allow teams to have 2 bots in there,
How is it unfair when they spent the time and money to make some of the better bots instead of just making a cardboard box on wheels?
I'm just trying to make the list more diverse, that's all, I don't want 2 robots from the same team that are nearly the same on the list.

Big Cheese = Wheely Big Cheese?
101 = Anarchy?
Recyclopse = Cassius?
Bodyhammer = Pussycat?

Just because they are made by the same team doesn't mean that they are the same.

Sorry, as much as I like those bots, I find it unfair to allow teams to have 2 bots in there, and it is also kind of confusing, since their names are quite similar. A couple of the names you mentioned are there, so you won't be dissappointed.

Then your list is going to be quite tedious then. Multiple teams have entered multiple good robots, I don't think it's right for half decent robots to be shunted out in favour of The Inquisitor and the like due to the subjective concept of "Fairness"

Also, only 1 bot per team. Sadly, that means no Mace or Bodyhammer.

I can think of a good few robots that are going to be screwed over by this rule. Killerhurtz, Recyclopse, Roadblock, Chaos, Robot The Bruce, Groundhog, Big Brother etc and most of those should be in the 100 imo

I say let them in

Roadblock? Why would Beast of Bodmin be in the list? It was awful and was not the first UK Robot Wars champion.

Granted Robot the Bruce was in a final, Chaos 2 won a final - twice.

Firestorm reached three Grand Finals; Groundhog did not.

Recyclopse I somewhat agree with, but no, Cassius was the first UK robot to self-right.
Recyclopse was the first robot to flip another robot using a flipper. So what's your point?
Look at the ones I edited in, Anarchy, Robodoc, and 101 were all good robots in their own right. Same with Big Cheese and Wheely Big cheese, and Steg o Saur Us and Steg 2.

Edit:
Robodoc, 101, Steg O Saur Us, Steg 2, Napalm, Beserk, Dreadnaut, Big Cheese, Thing...

Edit 2:
King buxton... I could go on

I am pretty sure the last wave of Mannslaughter is actually impossible

4 tanks, 60 pyros, buttload of rapid fire soldiers with medics, 25 deflector heavies, jarate snipers and spies and more other stuff.
I was up to 1am trying to do it and still failed. I tried spy a couple of times and that was lots of fun, if not the most effective.

Oh and giant demomen and heavyweight champs

Great. As soon as I finally get a Gold Botkiller Flamethrower, a more valuable one pops up afterwards.

I think Gold looks the best.

He says to himself, holding his Gold Botkiller Medigun like a baby.
You're right there, actually- even if it's not quite as fancy as a Diamond one, it's still my baby.

And Jonzu's still not having it    >:D

It's going to be interesting to see what happens to value. I bet it'll do a death spiral within the next week.

And looking at Backpack.tf my strange festive wrench is worth something. Good lord. Still keeping it though.

Just played Vs Saxton Hale, the version with HHH and Caven Johnson in it, it was good! However while I was the HHH I got the OS Paged Pool Memory error and my computer bluescreened. Now I look like a quitter. Thanks, computer.

Could be a worse draw for me. Semi confident for this one.

Do you have anything left from it on your end? Your showcase was one of the ones I never got the pleasure of looking through.
