Sounds good, as long as I'm the one that takes out 13 Black for what it did to Chaos 2  >:D

If anyone knows where I can find a decal of the black eagle that is on the real design send me it.
You know, I might have a little go at Plunderbird meself.

wouldn't it be possible for the one's who now own the rights and such for the game to just pass it on? i mean, giving the right of the game and the source code to people here like Acams  and Serge. they aren't going to do anything with this game, and surely they also don't care about it, so why not pass it on to someone who does care?

Been there, done that. GI won't hand out the code because

  • They apparently still get monies from it
  • It contains proprietary code over which they don't have control (like Havok)

That, and making a good successor would actually require a brand new engine, not the sh**ty one from RA2. Other wise we end up with RA2 and 1/3.
Name recommendation for the new Engine- Razortip Engine?

:FFFUUU I just read the rules and I had used the Razer claw for the ripping arm of Plunderbird 4.
You can use a Killalot claw, those are legal  :P
But it is too small
Hm, well Thyrus used one quite well in the first Rep Wars. Can't you make it smaller, then?

Although to be quite honest, I recently installed it again, and I still kind of like it. I mean, it still brings a smile to my face to flip Diotoir over and shove it onto the flame grill, with Refbot turned off   :approve:

Also-
I liked AoD better, which I got first. At least wedges got under other robots.

There's that, but really, the power supplies on the replicas in AoD were about as reliable as an oven rack made of butter   :dead:

But I've still got that one on my old PS2, and once I look past the power failures, it's also a pretty fun game which I like to play once in a while.

EDIT: Gah, the A4 beat the Black 5 to post :P
Yes, the old girl's still got it

Contests / Re: BOTM Ideas and Discussion
« on: November 03, 2010, 12:15:18 PM »
In response to a question asked by Joe, (He asked me about my suggestion of a "Railed Vehicle" BOTM in BOTM November 2010), I'll elaborate-

- "Railed Vehicle" refers to types of Train, including Steam, Diesel, Electric, or Rolling Stock (Coaches, Freight Cars)
- So for this one, people could compete to make a replica of one of those in RA2 DSL, from HW and up.
It'll probably be a test of component skinning and building a replica of quite well-known engines (IE. Flying Scotsman, Mallard, Rocket), but anything is allowed, as long as it runs on a railway.
- And component skinning? For example, a Toxic Waste barrel could be skinned into a boiler, hex plates and extenders could be used for buffers, and Grape Crates could become Cabs, for example.

So I'm up against Whirligig in Round 1? Right.
It depends on how fast Whirligig can get up to speed and if it can flip over and hit Purse's lid. From what I can see though, it looks a bit weak, so if I can flip it around enough to cause damage, I could possibly OOTA it or damage it enough to win.

You've got it right to an extent. It can't flip over (for some reason or another; I wish I knew how), and that weapon's a bit suspect. However, it does have 5 mm Alu (mainly for realism purposes, as Whirligig was made out of 6061 Aluminum), so it won't be that easy to strike down.
OK then. It's not so much the armour I'll be going for, but it's more the external weapon pole I'll be going for. Hopefully I can flip it around enough to break the connectors.

Could do with skinning some components, and it goes COMPLETELY to pot round the back XD

For such a new member, that's a seriously good replica!
