- No armor attached directly to the chassis of the robot

It doesn't matter if it's meant for armor, it is armor. Find another way to attach it.

storm ii has a thick lifting arm that isnt part of the chassis. It goes in between the chassis which is rather thin at that point which is doable with trov glitching.

Thank you. Rules updated.

Why no Trov Glitch? I see no reason against it. I use it on my cool drum designs D:

You can't make part of a chassis with 0 width IRL.
You can't do that with the Trov Glitch either.

Give me an example of how you would use it IRL. If you can do that, I'll allow it.

By the way, don't say that I'm rushing myself. The reason most tournaments run slowly is because the host has things going on in their personal life, so they pace themselves, say they record 1 or 2 matches a day. With me, I record as many as possible in that day mostly because I have no personal life and can use the time to my advantage. I could run 10 tournaments in a month if I tried, but I have no problem with slowing down the production if you guys wish.

If that was relating to my post, then you've misunderstood it, or I wasn't specific enough. I am not talking about the filming of the fights and the speed of the tournaments itself. I was referring to the chaotic nature of the sign ups, which were rushed through, and resulted in the first 3-4 pages of the SBV being you fixing the splashes and people fighting about who should have gotten which spot. THAT is the issue which always seems to be present in these tournaments, hopefully that can be sorted out this time.

To sum up, the sign ups are where things need slowing down and organising, not the production and posting of videos. That last part is where you should be commended. :approve:

I wasn't saying this would be the only time I'd slow down, I was going to do this again at the end of signups. It's just that I can't change the rules during signups, so for example S_M might convince me to use the Trov Glitch, and I wouldn't be able to change that during signups.

i has an idea:
How about every week you do a match for each weight class like an episode of battlebots. :gawe:

I wouldn't like to slow down that much, but I could do a match every day or every other day...?

Although I feel this tournament is ready, I won't move it to signups just because all disputes need to play out in this stage. Not because I like arguing, but because I can't have arguing about the rules in signups or SBV or anything. So if you have any problems, say them now.

I think the voting system idea should be implemented to keep super unrealistic boys out

No, I'll put a much tighter grip on IRL this time.

_______________

BTW, a list of all available cheatbot2 parts is up on the front page.

Better is a purely subjective viewpoint. In terms of IRL building, I would say he was quite crap. =P

His LW and SHW, especially the latter, were perfectly IRL. If he was losing, I'm sure you wouldn't be complaining.

what fbs has weapons like those on them and a sheet sticking out like that irl

which bot are you talking about

But if they do enter, then they bump another entry out of the bracket. I - at the risk of being decapitated - REALLY don't want Urjak stretching the IRL rules as far as he can, and pushing a much better "IRL" entry out of the brackets. I think a better way of making this work would be that a seed can claim their spot in only one of the four brackets. That would give the unseeded machines a chance to battle as well.

And stop complaining about Urjak, just because two of his bots was unrealistic doesn't mean you get to bitch and moan about it. I'll modify the rules a little to help, but seriously guys.
FTFY You find very few effective FBS IRL.

not "none" just "very few".

A couple of things:

- Seeding does not give automatic entry; if they don't enter, they're not in. The only people with a reserved spot are the winners from last season. And stop complaining about Urjak, just because one of his bots was unrealistic doesn't mean you get to moan about it. I'll modify the rules a little to help, but seriously guys.

- I moved the four unseeded members to seeds since they were the only ones that had won a match.

the moe motor isn't legal this time? (╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻

I'll still enter this though.

See #2 below.

I think Trov Glitch should be allowed in a realistic manner.
Also, why not allow cheatbot 2 parts below a certain efficiency. I love the Hworf Spike.
EDIT: And face spinners. Just because of the Garvin incident a perfectly IRL bot type has been outlawed.

1. No.
2. I'll go through the cheatbot components and see which ones I would consider IRL.
3. I know it's a stretch, but I'm not going to change that rule after 3 seasons of it not being there and working.

I think it is pretty original, and like the idea myself.

Calvinbot anyone?
no
calvinbot was that you could use any components you want, in this tourney, you only use the custom parts p_4 gives you

no, 027 updated the rules so you could only use certain parts.
Shut up and go back into your corner. This isn't Calvinbot. <-- sh** title

IT'S THE EXACT SAME THING AS CALVINBOT.

Oh no...

Quote
The 8th seed curse refers to a superstition formed amongst Robot Wars fans. In the four series that the seed number existed, the number eight seed never made the semi-finals, this being the only seed in the top 16 to suffer from this.

> Gemini lost in the heat final to Tornado in Series 4.
> 3 Stegs to Heaven lost in the heat final to Bigger Brother in Series 5.
> Panic Attack lost in the heat final to Terrorhurtz in Series 6.
> Panic Attack lost in Round 2 to Tough As Nails in Series 7.

Actually, should I not be 9-7? Freezerburn went 3-1, RPM went 2-2, SWARM was 0-1, and I went 4-3 in this one, did I not? I'd still be in the same spot afterwards, though.

Freezerburn went 2-1, I did not count the third-place playoff as a win or loss, only a tiebreaker between tied records.

I'll rearrange the 0-1 bots now, though, they haven't been sorted yet.
(edit): That's done.

Also, voting's over. Awards will be up shortly.
