i do them by hand with a big hacksaw. unfortuatly. nothing is ever measured, its all done by eye ;) i do have a dremel and i don't think it would be much use

Oh wow.  Please take this into consideration:  Get a pack of cut-off discs and the bit that holds them.  Use the dremel at a high-RPM and cut something simple like a plastic container. Work your way up from there.  This is what it looks like:

Cut-off discs are perfect for cutting sheets of carbon fiber.  You can get sheets of carbon fiber on eBay for o.k. prices but they are insanely light and very durable if used correctly.

Oh, and wear safety glasses when using cut-off discs sometimes they can shatter under stress, but they come in big packs, so it is no big deal and they are easy to replace on the bit.

Once you learn to use them... you wont want to go back.  It's totally worth it!

What do you use to cut the materials? The edges are sooo rough.

We need to get you hooked up with a Dremel Kit. <3

Awesome! There is room for improvement, but a lot of win there!

Mount your Irons using this tutorial: (would be a great place to start)

Do tell me how that turns out when you're done.

no no nay nyet! You should stick around instead. Build bots, make a showcase.  Hang around.  96% of us are pretty cool.  It's totally worth it.

Yes. Joe has too many DVDs.

I seriously lol-ed.

Joe has been pretty busy too, stuff with life, work and whatnot.

At least he hasn't blamed school like the rest of you lot.  That dead horse has been beaten so hard it's going to be renamed Horse From the West.

Oh admit it Scorpion... you smashed it against the hood of a car in a fit of metal fury.

No need to hide behind factory defects. Bah!

Transport Tycoon just got a complete open-source release last month.  It is still rather fun. Good little sandbox game similar to SimCity.  I just downloaded it and started playing again. I used to love the original game back in '96.

Download is totally free. The author accepts donations.

Two, maces are naturally more bouncy on VS's for some reason.  Iron spikes would probably be a better choice.

I think that maces have a very nervous collision mesh... so all it takes is one to fall out of whack and then it is downhill from there.  Unbalanced spinning, then the rest of the CM's get out of order.  Might be due to the complexity of the component.  Has anyone ever tried to edit the Mace component and remove the spikes to see if it stabilizes the mesh?

Invertible:  Cool
Irons for weapons: Cool
Relatively small chassis for components: Cool
High powered motors for weapons: Cool

You get some of the basics. Good job. You have a core understanding of what it takes to make a destructive bot. With some work and knowledge, you should be able to make that same bot... but smaller, and more efficient.  Then you will have the ability to add more weapons to the tribars.

I remember when one of my first bots was just like that, and it was pretty awesome to own Emergency with it.  Keep up the good work!  There is room for improvement, but you get some of the basics well.

Skis FTW!  (those are really handy for protection.)

I rather like it.  Poor wedges are all funked out probably due to AGOD.  Looks like it has potential when it is happy.

Awesome. Hope the move wasn't too stressful.

This is probably beyond your bot class but I will ask anyways.  Do you want this:

https://gametechmods.com/forums/index.php/topic,3489.msg119926.html#msg119926

couldn't sell it on ebay.  Don't need it and you can have it if you want.  I can ship it out to GA easy.

Yeah, but Nary, we've already established that I'm talentless :)
Nobody is talentless in RA2, as each member has his/her own methoss for creating robots.
Just, some members are more serious then others at this game, and as a result, end up building stronger ones.
And over time(at different speeds, of course), everyone does get good at this game.
Scourge, you just need to find a bot style(HS, rammer, pop-up, etc) you like, then try and build the best version of that you think is good.
And of course, GTM will go over the same "Rate/Fix" process, give you ideas on how to improve it, etc, etc, and there you go, you have your own awesome robot.

....Also, nobody is required to post bots to justify being on this thread.
Everyone just posts bots on a casual basis

Well said.  I would +rep you if I could.
