Goodnight sweet prince
is it just me that thinks stinger-like bots are incredibly boring?
Personally, I don't. Manly because bots like Gabriel go completely overkill with the design and still do really well.

I found the clip Natster was talking about. I dont have a video clip, but at colchester 2013 (I think) there was a 4 way event and it was a team event, Pressure got flipped out by ripper, ripper got flipped out by iron awe, and iron awe got flipped out by Kronic, I believe thats how it went
The fight was Ripper + Pressure against Maelstrom + Kronic. Pressure got flipped out by Maelstrom, who immediately got flipped out by Ripper, who immediately got flipped out by Kronic. Here's the clip in question;

User pages are meant for users that contribute in a meaningful way to RA2. (AI-ing, modding, tournaments, AI packs, etc.) Or the really old people/people who have marked GTM for a while.
So I can make myself a page?
...I guess... there's nothing stopping you...? I think Naryar's saying that they're not suited for regular members; they have to have done something considerably noteworthy to warrant an userpage. I'm assuming minor contributions don't mean anything either (like how I fixed up a few of the AI robots in the RWRA2 mod) so I don't think your Robot Noob mod would be enough either.

The only one that ever screwed me over was EMERGENCY. And even then, he didn't screw me over that much because I rarely built Heavyweights; I much preferred the lighter weight classes due to their designs not looking like they had all manner of parts put on them just for them to be competitive. The reason why the AI bots didn't give me trouble was because I had DSL prior to stock, giving me a jumpstart in building experience. I never really built anything in DSL... I just messed about with the replicas. I do remember also messing about with the DSL AI bots, so I had a good understanding of what worked for a design and what didn't. Yet somehow... (Image removed from quote.) That abomination was the first bot I shared with the GTM community. Actual first bot was Wings of Fire. Bad entry to GTM aside, though, only EMERGENCY screwed me over regularly. I think Tornado screwed me over a fair bit too, to an extent, but not enough to warrant it being my kryptonite. Looking at them now, it's almost bizarre that whoever made the original bots made them so weak (with the exception of EMERGENCY...)

#4: I'm trying my best to not be biased towards this one for... vehicular reasons... Anyway: the bot looks great, as does the title made for it; loving the 'SEGA' font. The splash is a bit "meh" though.
You probably already know this, but this isn't exactly the Sega font, many different companies have been using it back in the day, but now it's only sega.
I actually did not know that. Interesting... Vote for 3# I can't wait to see 3# win!
Certainly looking like #3 is everyone's favorite so far, isn't it?

Guess I'll have a go at giving my opinions on each entry. #1: The robot seems a little lackluster, in my opinion. As does the splash. Not terrible, just lackluster. #2: This one looks very effective in combat! The image of the insides is a little hard to see, however that's essentially just a nitpick. Splash is very appealing too. #3: This one looks brilliant! It looks like something that could've actually been made IRL! The splash, while simple, fits the robot very well. #4: I'm trying my best to not be biased towards this one for... vehicular reasons... Anyway: the bot looks great, as does the title made for it; loving the 'SEGA' font. The splash is a bit "meh" though. #5: This one looks quite cool, too! I love the editing done in the splash with the robot fighting it's opponents in multiple areas of the same arena, something that couldn't be possible in-game, what with only 4 bots in the arena in a match. #6: This one certainly looks unique. Splash looks kinda good, although it has a little too much text for my liking. The title for the robot looks cool, though. My vote goes to #3, it's just so beautifully constructed! I'm kind of a sucker for IRL bots too...

What about making cheatbot2 bots? (Image removed from quote.) The king of cheatbot2
tip and question about this bot?
I have no comment, I can barely see what's inside it, and I'm not sure if any cheatbot parts are there.
There is some cheatbot2 part here. Battlebots part and Robot Wars part added in DSL 2.2 as cheatbot2 part.
I'm assuming the cheatbot parts here are the Nightmare motors and the Hovercraft engine? Because other than that, I can't see any cheatbot parts. Also, the robot doesn't appear to be very good at dealing damage. The Hypno-discs alone aren't good enough to do anything sufficient. You may also want to build to the weight limit; You'll really struggle to win fights with it if you don't. You filled the entire chassis with components though, there's barely any empty space. That's good! Keep doing that with future designs.

Offtopic, really hoping to join one of your tournaments one day, but I sadly don't have good enough bots and AI skills yet.
Good to hear you're interested in entering tournaments but I wouldn't worry about AI skills, as it's a tournament host's obligation to AI your robots for you if you cannot do so yourself.
Even with low experience, it can still be worthwhile entering a tournament. You can learn a lot from losing. For example, I learnt how wedges, Z-Teks and a general understanding of the game's glitches can be rather important for a Stock MW/HW robot after participating in "The Cauldron". I wouldn't recommend flinging yourself at every tournament there is at an early stage, though. Best to just try a few to get a good understanding of the kind of bots you need to build to do well. (Going a little off-topic here myself, but I'm hoping I can show off what I learned in the upcoming "Back To The Roots" tournament, even if the designs in that are a little more dumbed down than usual.)

Why isn't the 2.2 download available in the downloads section/wiki and why were most of the RW bots removed from it?
1. That's probably just a mistake that'll get fixed eventually. 2. They're still in the game; they're just only available in the "Import Bots" section for teams. This is because (at least to my knowledge) the Robot Wars replicas haven't been updated like the BattleBots/RFL robots and wouldn't really fit in with the other replicas.

Just to ask, is there a certain size that the splash image should be? I know I'm asking this real late, but I spent most of the time I had to make it trying to get an arcade game to work on a PC emulator. (It didn't work.)
- Images must be no wider than 700px and no taller than 800px.
Oh, sorry. I was in a hurry to get this made and didn't check.

I'm afraid it's not a valid argument to use opinion when Red said it so matter-of-factly. He was imposing his opinion, not stating it, by insinuating that there was clear pandering to furries. It's fine for him to dislike a trailer if he believes there is pandering to furries but he shouldn't be stating it as if it's an objective fact.
Kinda' sorta' what I was getting at. The movie only seems like its pandering, but it honestly isn't. Hell... Disney has always made movies about anthro animals/etc. Dunno' what makes those any different from Zootopia.
My post about Disney directly marketing to furries was deleted, but it was true and and this is what I was talking about. Not saying anything is wrong with that, and I think it was a smart marketing decision, but it is true.
One of your posts was deleted? Fuking hell...
But seriously. As long as it beat Frozen, who cares =D (Not saying Frozen was bad or anything; But it became quite large right off the bat)
Please, ANYTHING with a decent story can beat frozen.
Yeah, the musical score kinda carried that movie... I'm probably gonna see Zootopia, actually. I think it looks rather well made.

You are aware that mine just says "Recieved", right?
I'm pretty sure that he forgot to change it, considering that he seems more or less ready to close signups.

Built a new version of Atomizer, see main post for more: https://gametechmods.com/forums/index.php?topic=18882.msg699403#msg699403
Not too sure if that wedge is very effective... usually wedges are best if they're just on a single extender. Wedges become less effective with the more things you put on them. Does the SnapperII motor fit behind the control board? Like, if you move the control board to, say, above the CO2 tanks, is it possible to then angle it downwards, build the wedge, then change the starting angle of the motor so it goes through the DDT Burst motor? Or is it supposed to be IRL style, with nothing clipping through anything? Regardless, I really do like the design. Also, in response to your other question, 3x Burst Piston Flippers(by the way, has anyone else done those before?)
I know Reier made a Middleweight flipper with four bursts. It was called "DONT TREAD ON ME." Other people on the forums have probably made robots with more burst flippers, but considering that I'm still quite new to the forums, I wouldn't be able to tell you with absolute certainty.

I wasn't entirely sure, When I can get back to my home computer I'll try and post pictures and sketches as it's literally all just sketches

Here it is, sorry it took so long!
The link didn't quite work. Try putting ['img'] between the link instead, without the quotation marks. Kinda like this: ['IMG']https://gametechmods.com/uploads/images/30304157315.jpg[/'IMG'] Besides telling you that, I don't think I can be much help towards your robot building. Sorry.

even has the cat ears the overhaul team had for the first season
Honestly, the funniest part about this is the fact someone drew a motherfuking Battle Bot.... As a sh'it-tier waifu character. It's so bad, it's actually funny.
The art is good, but the character's... a little bland. Then again, you can only go so far with a combat robot. ...IDK, it looks fine to me. I know I'm essentially anime trash, but, I don't see anything majorly bad. plez don hurt mi white text is fun btw*Sees new Son Of Whyachi*
*contains excitement*
I can't wait to see what it can do either. Oh, and one last thing; Photon Storm is essentially mega evolved Tiberius 4. Didn't see that coming. I thought it was a rammer like Storm II because Andrew Marchant was helping out. https://www.facebook.com/TeamStormUK/photos/a.465013406920118.1073741830.464882323599893/1008807705874016/?type=3&theater

And within an instant, Biteforce became incredibly generic.
Better than a basic wedge in my opinion.
EDIT: Obligatory "Lol, 69" post. I hope to reach a milestone that isn't this immature in the future.
Still a massive downgrade from the only effective tank tracks in the past 10 years and a nifty clamp/lifter setup.
I suppose. It was nice to see a tracked robot win something, especially in an arena with saws that spring up from the ground.

Don't worry, it'll go over eventually. Oldfags can remember my addiction to Dawn from Pokémon or Toothless from How To Train Your Dragon.
Yeah and everyone hated it.
But is that my problem? I have the right to express myself as the way I want.
You do, but it doesnt mean anybody else wants to hear it.
Well I apologize for being myself. I guess being different is unacceptable.
Well, I apologize for other people finding it annoying. I guess having an opinion on something is unacceptable. tfw u supa hot fire(sorry, saw the opportunity and didn't want to pass it up. In all seriousness he's trying to say that it's best if these obsessions are kept to yourself, or at the very least, aren't shoved in other people's faces. No-one's saying you're not allowed to like something; it's just that the consequences of the obsession posting (kinda like with the gifs) are that other people on the forums get annoyed at it.)

Jonzu is keeping the thread active tbh
Exactly.
I could do that with just about any thread by bumping it then constantly posting images related to the topic. Just saying, we could do this "keeping the thread active" thing with just about any thread, but that doesn't make it a good thing.
