Granted, but he despises you.

I wish I wasn't up so late writing this post.
Granted, but you are now sleeping during the daylight.

I wish I could fly.
Granted, but you fly at a speed of 0.0001kph.

I wish Kurt would stop with the sh**ty overforced ship.

Granted, but now he ships himself with you.

I wish that the school board was not entirely out of touch with the schools.

Try an FS/Hammer for the frontal destruction of an FS with the downward crash of a hammer.

I really like the FS/Drum. I think you should rebuild it as a SHW.

I HATE extremism; it ruins EVERYTHING!

A Catholic priest, a protestant, and a rabbi were walking down the street when they encountered a box full of gold. Each one had different ideas on how to divide the money.
The priest said: "We will throw this gold up into the air above a circle. What lands inside the circle is God's and what lands outside is ours to divide."
The protestant said: "We throw the gold up into the air above a circle, except what lands inside the circle is ours and what lands outside is God's."
The rabbi said: "No, we throw the gold up into the air, and what God wants, He keeps."

Whoever said: "Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned" was right!

Discussion / Re: Why I should play Ironforge or DSL instead of stock
« on: April 16, 2015, 07:43:45 PM »
Another advantage of Ironforge is balance; it was designed with balance in mind, making no component useless overall. Although certain weapons are used more on certain bot types than others. For example, crushing teeth and battleaxes are popular on vertical spinners for their high damage output and ability to toss robots respectively. Weapon choice in Ironforge is somewhat like navigating a large city: there are practically no wrong answers, but some decisions lead to better outcomes than others.

After cancelling DSL3, Clickbeetle decided to give DSL 2.1 a much-needed redo in terms of component stats. Presently, three weapons dominate the DSL Metagame: Razor Tips, Light Double-Sided Teeth, and Beater Bars. Furthermore, only a select few wheels (e.g. Hypnos, Vlads, Technos) and armors (e.g. Most plastic/titanium, Steel 5) are used, at least in DSL-S. In my opinion, this is one downside to DSL, and I am glad it is being fixed, especially by an experienced user. As things stand, innovation is starting to stop, and variety only comes about when tournament hosts impose restrictions on dominant robot types.

Stock innovation has seemingly stopped altogether, and since Stock is inherently unchangeable, it would take brilliance and/or sheer luck to challenge the metagame. There are users like ShedRift who somehow use Stock to create works of art, but that's exactly what they are: works of art, not suitable for combat, much like in the way Christmas tree ornaments are generally not to be played with by young children. This is why Stock is in decline, but some will still stand by it. The only reason there is still a few beams of innovation left in DSL is because of a broader selection of parts, as well as the IRL craze.

If there is one advantage that Stock and DSL have over Ironforge, it is this: they are well-established. Thus, there is plenty of information available on them. Ironforge's limits are still not quite known yet, and this uncertainty may ward off the non-adventurous. Stock has obviously been around since the start of RA2, and DSL2 was released in 2006, whereas Ironforge has been out for less than a year.

In short, Stock has the fewest restrictions, contrary to its highly restrictive metagame; DSL allows more variety in exchange for some extra building rules; Ironforge has a minimal metagame, leaving the user to rely on their own skill and judgement instead of some silly glitch or exploit.

If the organization is called Alcoholic's Anonymous, why is it customary to disclose your name?

Why don't prisons hand out multiple bars of soap?

The saying "A picture speaks a million words" is true for a 1000x1000 bitmap.

The Lone Ranger and Tonto Fistfight in Heaven arrive at a tavern in the desert. After tying their horses outside, they go inside and have a few drinks. Suddenly, a cowboy asks the Lone Ranger: "Excuse me, sir, but is that your fine white stallion out there?" The Lone Ranger replies with "Yes, it is." The cowboy replies with: "It looks like it's getting too hot," and he walks away. The Lone Ranger tells Tonto "Hey Tonto, go run around my horse to cool it down." Tonto replies with "Run around horse, cool down," as he goes to carry out the order. Later, another cowboy approaches the Lone Ranger and says: "Excuse me, sir, but is that your fine white stallion out there?" The Lone Ranger replies with "Yes, it is." The cowboy tells him: "You left your Injun runnin'"

I would love to try this out, but Norton won't let me download the installer file from solidfiles. If it isn't too much trouble, could you please put the RAR directly on GTM?

Please, I hope you don't mind me asking, what is a TRFBD? I've never heard of one.

It's been invented by madman3. It's a gay design that flails at the top of bots.

Somehow like a crawler hybrided with a full-body vertical spinner.

I believe there is a wiki page about that.
I just checked and there is no dedicated page for TRFBDs; the closest thing is the page for "Full Body Drum."

I like the reference: Enver Hoxha, Albania's communist dictator from 1944 to 1985. The bot looks good, somewhat like an HS/SNS, but IRL.

Your bots look great, and they're effective,
I have one question though.
What is Ironforge and how/where can I get it?
RA2 Ironforge is a total conversion modification made by 123savethewhales, designed to bring balance to the force RA2. Click this to download Ironforge. After downloading the Ironforge RAR file, simply unzip the contents into a folder and you're ready to go!

Help me... I can't stop listening to this freakin song

Welcome to the club, comrade.

Thanks for the video man. I always loved Russian choirs. They are extremely powerful. When it comes to motivating the military, I think their songs beat all other countries by waaaay way far. I get such a huge rush of confidence and might when I hear these songs.
Katyusha, Kalinka, The Cossacks/Song are one of my favorites from the lot.
Here's 2 others not included in the list:

I have a whole playlist of this stuff.

Existing Games / Re: Your Gaming Year 2014
« on: January 02, 2015, 04:53:13 PM »
I really didn't play many new video games this year, so this list was rather easy to make.

1: My favorite game I started playing this year is Mario Kart 8.

2: My holy hell moment was finding out about the OR/AS special event... simply by checking the mystery gifts that first day.

3: My favorite soundtrack this year is from Mario Kart 8.

4: My favorite game this year is Mario Kart 8.

5: The game that surprised me the most is Mario Kart 8: I knew it was going to be a great game and it shattered my expectations.

6: The most disappointing game I played this year is... none of them. I was incredibly satisfied with every game I started this year.

7: In the coming year I am looking forward to Super Smash Bros for Wii U, at the very least.

In general, how much does it cost to build and maintain a 1lb combat robot?

Last but not least, 355 Euros.
I'm very well versed in currency conversions, and I can say that this large sum of Euros is equivalent to nearly a whopping 10 US dollars.
According to Google...

...although the cost of living might be higher in Finland than in the U.S.

Game Development / Re: Shapeshooter: A Unity Game I Created
« on: December 20, 2014, 01:52:03 PM »
For an indie game made in one week, this is rather good. If you kept working on it, this game could become great.

Here are some things I like about it:
  • The idea of shooting rampaging cylinders is rather comical
  • The controls are simple and intuitive
  • The textures don't look too bad

Here are some things that I think need work:
  • The aiming controls are far too sensitive
  • There is no health system; adding one would make the game more challenging and more fun

Those who opposed the Playground won't need to deal with its overbearing-ness...
Those who supported the Playground would get a great alternative...

Everybody wins. I say that this is a great idea.
