Sylandro, you don't even need the Wayback Machine for this one. Hello, Robot Combat!

Small problem. One bot here was obviously built with the NARmour be gone patch, but since I don't have it, it means it refuses to drive in a straight line.

However, since in my signup rules it clearly said DSL standard, meaning just a fresh copy of dsl + standard dsl building.....

What do?

Have you already notified the person that used the DSL copy with NARmour Be Gone?

I want Coconut to win! I see that CR87 and S_M were planning on entering CC5...

The robot is just a larger WTF, Mate!? so that isn't too far off the beaten path...

I'm not sure about the other two but Sir Digby Chicken Caesar is from That Mitchel and Webb Look

All of his robots are tied around Monty Python's Flying Circus. The Spanish Inquisition (the one nobody expects) gave that away for me.

As for the team, they all look alright but I do worry about the lightweight getting outdueled and knocked square into next week.

...I'm alive, and I'm back.

Robot sent; hopefully, it'll be in on time.

For your first bot, that looks very cool. It definitely looks like it could have been in a BattleBots competition.

All I can say for your future here is to just take the game at the pace you want to. Don't feel pressured by some of these guys telling you to do this and do that.

Like Jack said, have fun with this.

DSL TC Showcases / Re: Kossokei's DSL Bot Showcase

There's only one good thing I can see on this: it's well-armored.

Now, for the list of things that can be improved:

-Drive. Car steering in all situations is inadvisable; not only does it leave you having a large turning radius allowing opponents to get to the back and sides and rip your guts out, but it also wastes space for better, quicker options.
-Sri-mech. In this case, you really don't need a self-righter. Good, large tires (such as Techno or Overkill Wheels) will eliminate any need for it in case you want to keep it at this height.
-Power. I know you're new at this, so consider this a pointer: you only need 1 ant battery per non-burst motor. Burst motors do require more; in this case, your BSG needs 2.5 ants to be fully powered. So, to run this robot, you will need a minimum of 7 ants, with a maximum at about 10 ants.
-Space. Having loads of empty space, while beneficial to the chassis HP, does nothing but eat up weight that can be shuttled elsewhere to the robot, especially the weapon.

There's quite a bit more that can be improved on, but I'd much rather have someone more experienced with making good robots come in and critique this.

Tofu doesn't deserve to be on the list. Heck, a lot of the DSL ones on the list don't.
We need some of the geezers here to tell us some major bots from 2007 and prior.
Like don't just put bots on cause they're new and shiny.

Ala the original Drumblebee and the like?

Yeah I'll consider Zapper and also Tofu

Flood 2... neh, besides being a borderline IRL bot that won a lot it doesn't have much that makes it top-100 quality. Kurt Rambis however...

Kurt? Ehh. While it was tougher than old boots, it didn't do too spectacularly.

Don't think any of mine would qualify. Closest one is Flood 2 though that one is only because of the controversy it brought.

Fun fact: the poster of this vid, Chad Mosher, has been on multiple game shows (Million Dollar Password, Jeopardy!, and Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?). His younger sister is one of the contestants on the revival.

I believe that #2 is a Stock version of New Ruin.

As for me, #4 has my vote. Good splash, and a very solid concept as well.

@ty Don't fully understand what you mean

@Awsum Nary deleted it because I had no bots in it

Still working on cropping

Also, what this be enterable in a DSL LW tourney? I mean it does say MW, but its under 249.99 kg. I think Naryar would be proud of me, for building to the weight limit.

It would not be allowed in a DSL LW tournament. The max weight limit is 249.0 for lightweights.

Time for some realism... REAL realism.

Welcome, Super Sexy Push Bot.

Meant for pretty much any upcoming DSL IRL tourney, it features a dual wedge to ram bots into walls and who knows what else!

The specifics:
-Aluminum 5 armor (could be upgraded if I lessen the battery count)
-4 Ant Batteries
-2 NPC Fast's with Tornado Wheels
-6 Large Beater Bars, 3 on each side, to inflict damage
-2 90 degree Axles to allow for wedge based combat both ways if flipped

So...comments? Happy that I created a non-cheaty IRL bot?

I'd just use 1 ME per motor, it's easy to do and saves weight.

Have you've even SEEN a MW with E-tek drive?

2 E-tek drive + grippy wheels + 60 pound sledgehammer + lots of momentum = Insanely fast killing machene. 'Nuff said. Have you've even SEEN a MW with E-tek drive?

First Round Finale from BBEANS 4. Not as fast as WTF, Mate!?, but still quite nippy.
