Not bad. How's the range for your flamethrowers?

Perhaps I ought to try it, though I imagine the vertical orientation allows that weapon to lift the bots more effectively into the trap. 105

I got a bit of inspiration from Massimov's bot, and built this:
Inflammation as I like to call it is a Flamethrower/VS hybrid which uses its large body and Firestorm flippers to trap bots over four flame jets, and then KOs using two Perm 80 grinding disks. The bot far surpassed my expectations, with excellent wedges and destructive weaponry that posses a major threat to bots with exposed chassis or motors. Here are some battleshots: Any comments would be appreciated. :D 107

Might be able to mount the drive extender right off of the extender coming out the baseplate anchor, and then attach the angle motors using the attachment point on the other side. This will make your disks slightly farther apart, but should get you down to 398.9.

DSL TC Showcases / Re: Domanating's Showcase of nonsense« on: July 12, 2012, 05:29:35 PM »Is there a list that could explain me what "HS, FSS, VS, SNS" and others mean? I still don't know how exactly you call each bot. Oh, sorry. HS means a Horizontal Spinner, like Locknut from DSL. FSS means a Flail Sheck Spinner, which is basically a shell spinner that uses weapons on axle components. VS means Vertical Spinner, like Ripblade. SNS means a Sit and Spinner or Thwacker, like 360 Arc Pounder. 109

Even Root Beer should have a hard time with the wedge. Hard hitting HS, FSS, VS, SNS, etc. The bot is only protected so long as every shot strikes the wedge components, and I can see opponents (particularly VS) easily being able to get at the more juicy sides of the bot (hex plates won't hold up very long against HWs). 110

Exactly what bots are you testing against? I can think of quite a few bots in NAR AI that seem like they could destroy it. 111

Anyways, I think this whole thread is a tad pointless. While I respect the effort Naryar, unfortunately I think rep needs to just be left alone or gotten rid of entirely. Policing the way its handled is far more trouble than it will ever be worth. 114
Discussion / A little something to cure wedges of AGOD« on: June 29, 2012, 07:53:22 PM »
It always sucks when your wedges have AGOD, and I notice a lot of people here who are having it happen to them a lot. On one of my bots, I noticed that when you remove/add motors, the wedges often realign.
It takes a bit of experimenting to get it right, but it seems like motors added after or before the metal hinge wedges are attached affect AGOD in different ways. It has worked on every one of my bots so far without fail. I just learned this a short while ago, though it could already be known by other builders. I thought I might as well share it anyway. 115
