MY TAG TEAM BUDDY!!
Still don't know how we won that, considering my bot. Anduril was basically "Herbie derbie doo, I'mma spin here and wait for something to run into me" while Rabid Squirrel was gang-banged by the opponents. Good times, good times...

I came to the BeetleBros. site after three years away to watch some old videos. I had no idea the community was still so active.
Warms my decrepit heart, it does.
I need to reinstall the game, teach you whippersnappers how we did it in Ye Olden Days...

Guess who's back. The plans have changed. The new configuration calls for an invertible horizontal spinner. Why the change? Considering how new I am to the sport, having to basically rebuild the machine after every match makes the FBS a bad choice for me. The new design will use ONE overvolted S-400 to spin a 20 lb. aluminum/steel disc. Four-wheel drive will be provided by a pair of 3 HP S-150s. The rear will have an interchangeable wedge/bumper. The bumper, used against spinners, will be mounted on a pair of springs, so that while the robot will not absorb the hits as rammers do, the impact will hopefully bounce FBS's into the wall. I don't want to risk busting the internals. All in all, it will resemble the bastard child of MOE and Mechavore. God willing, you'll see me in Battlebots this April.

AoD was fun, but I wish they had tightened up the flipping physics. The only robot I could use to flip guys out of the arena was Behemoth. I felt pretty damn awesome when I pulled that off.

I've been playing DSL for a while, and that is NOT DSL 2.0.

Naryar: That's the idea, but with teeth at varying heights along the shell.
Whamett: Yeah, I know what you mean. I'm planning to use a big rod. I understand how many precautions I'll need. I'll be running it into a brick wall at full speed, seeing what breaks, fixing it, then ramming it into the wall again ad nauseum. Besides, I've got Asians on my team. How can I go wrong?

R1885: I'll have to check that site out. As for damaging myself: it's an FBS. They all break themselves. It's just a matter of whether the opponent breaks first.
Whamett: FBS's don't have SRiMechs. Some can tip back over, but if the shell is up to speed, it should have enough gyroscopic force to where it'll get launched up and land back on its wheels. But hey, that's the weakness.

Alright, here's the plan: Get this ( http://www.robotmarketplace.com/products/MAG-BKT60.html) for the speed controller, drive motors, and RC unit. Cannibalize it for parts. Use two o' these ( http://www.robotmarketplace.com/products/MAG-S28-400.html) buggers to spin one shell. If it works, I've got 9 hp. SOMETHING is going to break when it hits an opponent. Sheck's going to be angled, like Megabyte. I was considering a flat, Shrederator-esque shell, but it's too vulnerable to bar spinners like Mortician and Vicious Verdict.

It's a little-known fact that Admiral Ackbar, after retiring from military service, became a gynecologist. One day, a concerned lady walked in. Ackbar did some tests, and told her to come back the next day for the results. The next day, she walked in. "What...what do I have?" she asked.
*Warning: Lame pun ahead*
"IT'S THE CLAP!"

Sorry, that came out wrong. I meant "how about the next round?" in the same way one would say "how 'bout them Cubs"? Just a way to start a discussion.

What is this blasphemy? Reading? On a forum dedicated to games?
Seriously, though, what books are you lot interested in?
Personal favorite: Watchmen. Read it. Now. I MEAN IT.

Hmm...Am I correct in assuming that my next opponent is Pinball? This'll be entertaining.
