Existing Games / Robot Wars Extreme Destruction DirectX error

I've tried to install the game on 2 different pc's. 1 is running windows 10 the 2nd is running windows 7 both are getting the same error in regards to directX  8.1. The windows  7 pc is running Direct X 11.  Does anyone know a fix for this? Or is my OS not compatible with the game?
