General Support / Bug. Sort of.
« on: February 25, 2007, 07:14:59 AM »
http://i17.tinypic.com/43dxkpe.png

I noticed this happening on many arenas. Sometimes my robot's corner sinked through the arena's floor but my whole bot never did that. I think this is somehow related to those wedges sinking through the floor as well.

That bot is as low as possible and also the bottom of the bot is as big as possible. Top is... Maybe 3 squares big to each direction. That didn't happen all the time but sometimes when I were flipped and then rolled around on my side until I were standing on one of my corners and it fell through.

Discussion / OH MY GOD 1.3 PATCH!!!
« on: January 04, 2007, 04:21:23 AM »
Robot Arena 2 has now 1.3 PATCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

SERIOUSLY!!! AFTER 3 YEARS SILENCE ON THEIR SITE AND THEN POOF!!! A PATCH!!!

http://robotarena.com/

"10/12/06

New Patch for Robot Arena: Design & Destroy Now Available!

Click the link below to download the latest patch for Robot Arena: Design & Destroy.

Robot Arena: Design & Destroy Patch"

            OMG!

:D  Okay I bit over reacted but still. Looks like there's still someone who keeps the game updating. This is totally amazing! After THREE YEARS a patch...

Well. This is also bad news too. DSL-TC will break up again if we apply the patch for it but also some good news too. You may still have hope to get the source code from them.  :D  Whee. If that's possible to get, the DSL-TC 3.0 will come out someday, won't it?

Discussion / DSL-TC 2.0's rar file may be corrupted.
« on: January 01, 2007, 10:18:40 AM »
Yeah. People have complained about the mod made for the cd version of the game.

You can find more about the issues with the mod's rar file here:
https://gametechmods.com/ra2dsl/dload.php?action=file&file_id=74

Some are missing files or something like that.

So I would like to ask ACAMS and goose to take a look to that file and say is there something wrong with it or are they just not-so-good downloaders with the file or something like that.

Discussion / Cheat parts limit online
« on: October 02, 2006, 10:45:24 AM »
I was playing few days ago with deadkenndys and when I tried to take my Spiderbait, the game told me that it used cheat parts and I couldn't take it. Same happened on my The Ultimate Spike Beetle and on Sunflower Tea.

Are Perm motors now cheat parts online? Because all those bots had same parts, Perm motors. Why Perm motors are now marked as cheat parts when you go online?

Or if those aren't the cheat parts which makes that pop-up to pop up then which ones are? I would like to get complete list of those parts what are now marked as cheat parts when you start playing online.

Spiderbait II

When I first time tested my Spiderbait I saw right away that drive wasn't enough powerful to push others around. So I started to build up new Spiderbait. Now its front is little differentally built up but there isn't big difference in efficiency.

And if you wonder why I use T-connector to the arm, the answer is again simple. Any other connetors didn't attach to the motor. Angle connector didn't or neither did flipper segment.

Strengths:
+ Now it has 4 fast NPC motors in drive. So don't bully it or it starts to push you around.
+ Armoring is 3mm titanium. So it is quite much better.
+ Arm is very good self righter if the motor isn't damaged and batteries have power in them.

Weaknesses:
- Front doesn't again move so it won't do much damages when pushing.
- Arm drops off very fast after few hits.
- It is again quite easy to get under it.

Spiderbait

Spiderbait's name comes from the name of the Spiderbait band and the answer is this why it looks like that: When I was on history's lesson last year I quickly drawed that picture because I thought that Spiderbait band needs some sort of logo. So that came up. That looks quite nice and my opinion is that it describes Spiderbait name very well. Only thing what I would change in that picture is that first front legs should hold the star, not to be around it.

Doesn't that bot look like a Spiderbait too?

Strengths:
+ 3mm plastic armoring what is enough because front is pushing other bots enough far of its chassis.
+ Spinner is very devastating. (If flipper segments or T-connector lasts longer than 10 seconds.)
+ Quite good drive to push others around.
+ It cannot be immobilized if the spinning arm is at least somewhat attached to it...

Weaknesses:
- The front doesn't move at all and that's why it won't score much when it's pushing others.
- Getting under it isn't very big challenge.
- ...but it is extremely hard to self-right if it is upside down.

Sunflower Tea

This robot was originally meant to be only Critical Emergency's killer but it turned out quite competitive enemy against everyone. Or how it sounds when your opponent is flying, bouncing and spinning like mad across an arena's floor because of double-perm gearbox spinning its disc and thats why starting to bounce around. Try to make some hits there when your opponent is almost flying on you. And if you wonder why it has Matilda tooth in front of it, it is because of the disc and teeth. The disc's teeth would hit the ground without it and then it would just fly around all the time. Carbon extenders are just for giving extra stability when turning. They aren't vital but good add.

And if you are still wondering where did this bot get its name, the answer is simple. It was the first thing for a name when I saw this robot in front. The disc with its teeth looked like a sunflower and tea just came somewhere. So it is now Sunflower Tea.

And here's two pics of Sunflower Tea doing the job on which it was first built for.

Strengths:
+ It is well covered. Hard to make any very good hits on it.
+ Disc makes nice hits.
+ It is hard to hit it when it is spinning around an arena.

Weaknesses:
- Teeth drop off little bit too fast but not very often.
- Hard to make good turns in full speed when driving and turning at the same time. Normally the robot will fall on its side and then start to bounce around.

Fin(n)ish This

This bot went through many weapon designs on top of it. In the very beginning it should have got a perm 80 motor inside the chassis to spin a that wide saw blade. The perm didn't fit in the chassis properly with other motors so I removed it. Then it got 2 ant weighted 8000 rpm motors spinning saw discs on it. I noticed that they didn't do enough much damages so I changed them. Then it got 2 mag motors spinning... was it some sort of bars or something. If I remember right they costed too much weight so I removed them and replaced them at one mag motor spinning spiked clubs in the end of T-connector.

Well. That was very destructive weapon and I wanted to keep it but the weird unbalanced axles & weapons bug came in. All the motors' axles were now out balanced and my robot jumped around like mad bunny on an arena's floor so I had to remove that spinning weapon too. I think the error comes when you have a burst motor overlapping skirt hinger and have a spinning motor with those two things in your robot or so.

So at last I used two mag burst motors to flipper and to weapon. The weapon isn't anymore that good but it does do some damages and when the flipper and the weapon are launched at the same time they give some air under other robots.

Strengths:
+ Armoring is good... I don't remember what type it was or how thick but I think it is aluminium or steel. It isn't very thick but lasts very well.
+ Flipper plus weapon combination, when throwing, is very mean combination.
+ Has many weapons for everyone.
+ Has very powerful self-rightning mechanism.

Weaknesses:
- Non-existingly small in place turning speed. It won't turn in place almost at all without bit driving back and fort.
- When driving turning speed could be a bit faster but still it is enough good now.

Dragon Mouse Upg.[/u]

So I upgradet the Dragon Mouse and now it has more weapons and now it can stand bit longer against others but still it isn't ultimate bot. See the original strengths and weaknesses on original dragon mouse.

Strengths:
+ Has now more weapons.
+ Is quite invertible now.

Weaknesses:
- Same as on original Dragon Mouse but it isn't any more invertible.

The Ultimate Spike Beetle[/u]

Look who's back with even meaner look!    It's the Spike beetles' youngest and meanest brother! Well not so mean any more. Because of double perm gearbox it has to be bit higher than earlier Spike Beetles and that's why it won't hit any more so hard lower bots. But it is still very mean opponent. Don't go on its way.

Strengths:
+ Has quite good armoring 3mm aluminium.
+ Disc takes mean rpms and EVEN 10mm steel won't last it very long if spikes are all the time smashing opponent's chassis.
+ Is guaranteed Spike Beetle quality.

Weaknesses:
- As you can see double perm gearbox and somewhat good armor take much off the spare weight and so there won't be much weight left to use on batteries or on other things.
- Double perm gearbox eats very much amps and that's why it will start to  curdle down after 1-2 mins of spinning and driving.

Don't Mace Me --- To[/u]

Its name is on purpose written wrong so I could get little word playing on it too, don't make me to/ don't mace me. This is my really first robot on which I use custom texture. And even it looks very dull the appearance is befoolish. First I got axle mounts before spiked clubs but they just bugged sh** out of the game all the time so I tried to switch to spiked clubs which had meat tenders in the end of them. They worked better but not enough. I was sad that I had to remove axle mounts and meat tenders because they made most of the time 1200 hits or around 1000 and they bended so that I could get hits even behind some sort of front covers but axle mounts just didn't want to co-operate and they most of the time just spinned madly around.

Strengths:
+ Has 10mm steel armor.
+ In the front are 60kg hammers which do good damages to others.
+ Sides are armored with spike strips.
+ Weapon arm hits all the time around 500 points. On good hits it shoots 1500 points.
+ When extra armoring starts to drop of, what more it drops that faster the robot comes because it has fast NPC motors on it. Same applys on the weapon arm. When further off spiked clubs drop of that faster it will start to shoot the arm down.
+ It is invertible.

Weaknesses:
- Does it even have any major weaknesses?...
- Well, maybe that its top and bottom aren't covered by extra armor.

Dragon Mouse[/u]

Even Dragon Mouse has word mouse in its name it is a HW bot and even flames look scary in the pictures they aren't that scary but they do have important role. They destroy opponent's drive motors so it won't move any more so fast it would be if motors would be in good condition. And because the Dragon Mouse is rammer bot slow opponent is important to get much points. If opponent moves fast it is hard to get any good hits.

Strengths:
+ Flamethrower tower rotates so you can shoot flames everywhere inside 360 degree circle.
+ Has 10mm steel armor.
+ Has much extra armoring which is good thing.

Weaknesses:
- Its only weapons are attached at one multiextender or what that block is called again.
- Could use bit more powerfuller weapons.
- Is quite much invertible.

Collector[/u]

Collector got its name when it showed its skills when it gathered robot garage's concrete blocks in one pile. This is a robot at the time when I was beta testing DSL-TC's 2.0 version of the mod. I just made something up so I could fight against other robots.

It isn't very challenging opponent but it will do at least something.

Strengths:
+ 10 mm steel armor scare it.    Aannd... That was quite much all of the strengths.
+ Oh yeah. It is invertible.

Weaknesses:
- Bit weak drive though it will move the robot fast.
- It is rammer with bad drive so that means nothing good for it.

General Support / Lumazone's floor
« on: July 18, 2006, 07:43:28 AM »
Yeah suddenly I lost that sand floor from the lumazone where it was last time when I checked it.

I did nothing to the DSL-TC 1.2 folder and or to any files and next time I went to play the arena the floor was that old floor.

I even reinstalled the whole DSL-TC 1.2 game and still the floor remains the same.

So how the heck the floor isn't any more the same sand floor as it was before even I did nothing to the DSL-TC 1.2 folder?

DSL TC Showcases / Mr. Weedy's Robots Part II
« on: April 03, 2006, 03:14:27 PM »
This is second part of my showcase.

Ripper[/b][/u]

This is actually quite good robot against those VERY overpowered DSL mw robots. Only discs of doom's robot is too much for it. Also Storm II is bad opponent because that drives faster than speeding bullet. But maybe first time ever I made a mw what is enough powerful to fight against those mw robots.

It is my first robot who can defeat S3. I mean in mw class of course.

And here are few pictures of Ripper's reshaping skills. :D  In these first three pictures is the same robot. First I banged it up like that and then I banged its other side down again.

Strengths:
-Gets under almost everyone.
-Turns fast.
-Is invertible and lowest possible.
(-Is very good dancer.  Of course you have to do victory dances after a match...)

Weaknesses:
-Is easily rolled around if vertical disc comes on its way.
-Is bit too narrow compered to mw classes' robots, tooth won't hurt if robots are face to face.

Full Ahead[/b][/u]

Full Ahead is like a fast tank on arena's floor. Its sides are well armored as well as its front and back too. Also it has powerful drive.

Strengths:
-It has good armoring.
-It has fast and powerful drive.
-It can easily push others if they are shaped so that they can be pushed around.
-It is invertible.

Weaknesses:
-Its top and bottom aren't armored and so it is very vulnerable to Freanzy.
-Rammers don't manage well on MW class because everybody there are so fast.
-It doesn't like at vertical spinners because its sides take so easily to spinner's spikes. Of course when it is upside down then the sides reach to the ground.

Every Place Slapper[/b][/u]

It is quite average LW bot but it managed well against Mean2u and Ham even it had only one wheel left on it.

Strengths:
-It can do damages either ramming to others or being next to them.
-It is invertible.
-It has steel armoring.
-It turns very fast and precisely.

Weaknesses:
-It is vulnerable everywhere else except on front.
-It is quite average bot.

Windmill[/u]

Strengths:
-Rammers don't like it if they get on it.
-Its front is well covered by weapons if no one won't get undet its front blades.
-It moves fast and turns fast too.

Weaknesses:
-Its back is very vulnerable.
-Front motors can't take much beating and when one flies off it is quite unprotected.
-It doesn't have self rightning mechanism but it can again hover around on the arena's floor somehow controlled.

Shark II[/u]

I updated original Shark some time ago but I forgot to list it here. So here is the Shark II. Now it flips much higher and well

Strengths:
-Very powerful flipper.
-Has now support on the front.
-Has also weapons what I think none of the other flippers does.

Weaknesses:
-Turns bit slowly.
-Long front makes it hard to turn and drive under others at the same time.

Saw This![/u]

Because Mean2u has whined so much of lack of people using saws in their robots, now there is enough saws in one robot. And that all is stuffed inside 2 cubicsquares.

Strengths:
-Saws can do mean marks to enemy.
-Has many weapons if some drop off.
-Can swing around upside down and still damage its opponents.

Weaknesses:
-If someone reaches motors then the saws drop off quite easily.
-It is quite unprotected when even one saw drops off.
-Can be immobilized easily if someone flips it upside down.

Big Deal II[/u]

Yeah I had to use those Dark Batterys in this robot because there wasn't enough space for even one red battery pack because of NPC motors' collision maps.

OMG IT'S THE SPIDER ROBOT! http://img484.imageshack.us/img484/4917/spider8xp.jpg

Strengths:
-Moves very fast.
-Can easily push other light weighted.
-Now both sides are covered.

Weaknesses:
-Maybe weak spikes.
-Maybe weak armoring but if you get through that by light weighted...

Hedgehog II[/u]

I got this spinner idea at Clickbeetle who said something at shell spinner and then I made this.

This robot is Hedgehog's big brother and it do at least triple times damages as Hedgehog because of spinning spikes. And when this flies upside down it still can move by its spiked club and still make bad damages. And playing against three Killdozers is just enjoyment and I would like to have even more of them on the arena to fight against.    It is just so funny. This robot could be compered to Spike Beetle II or to Spike Beetle because it is so destructive. And this little error happened during the fight.

"Don't step on a hedgehog."

Strengths:
-Hits between 10-2500. Mostly around 100-1000
-Can easily beat almost anyone.
-Can easily handle 3 opponents against it and that doesn't feel anywhere.
-Cannot be immobilized.
-Cannot be dropped to robot wars arena's pit. (It doesn't fit in there.     )

Weaknesses:
-Only Overkill and Wheely Big Cheese offer it somewhat challenge.

Hedgehog[/u]

This is somewhat copy of deadkenndys1105's robot but I got this idea for long time ago but I just didn't build it. But now it is here and it is king of the hill. "There was a time when three mean robots ruled the hill. One day there came a hero..." "Mean robots tried to destroy the intruder..." "But they got surprised when El Diablo got destroyed. They tried even harder to destroy the intruder..." "But then Techno Destructo got destroyed too. The razor was pissed off and very angry. There isn't any pictures remained out of this fight between the hero and the razor to these days but legend tells that it was the most frightning fight ever seen on earth." "Finally the razor realized its weakness and so the hero destroyed it by one lighting fast hit into its chassis." "So the legend tells that once there was a hero of the hill and the hero was Hedgehog. Nowadays no-one doesn't know where the Hedgehog is or is he dead. Rumours fly across the world and maybe one day the hero returns. You never know."

And let me introduce THE ACROBATS!

Strengths:
-It is very wide and flat so it is very hard to get under it.
-Has enough punch in motors so it can ram under other robots.
-Can rip off wheels if you aren't enough careful.
-It is very hard to rip off its plates or its weapons.
-Can damage others even they are under it. (Spiked Clubs have spikes sticking out to 3 directions.)

Weaknesses:
-If it flies upside down. Then it is upside down. I think. (It hasn't flown yet.)

Lol Ball III,2[/u]

This is ,2 because III version is different by its inner looks and that doesn't work as well as this but both have one same thing. They will work only every second time. ,2 works more well than the III when that every second comes. They both work just fine and very well when you first time run it but on the second try ,2 moves just somehow and original III doesn't move at all or the movement isn't rolling more like sliding if you make it to slide.

And also it took hours of tweaking and fiquring out why it sometimes moved and why sometimes it didn't. And I found out at least one very major factor to it. If I add anti-ballast in the robot and fire a piston and then remove the anti-ballast and go and "drive" the robot. Anti-Ballast causes that there isn't any recoil in the pistons or something like that and that's why it moves just fine but then next time that effect is gone and it just shakes at its place. Also positinon of the pistons affect to its movement much and looks like the best solution is either all the piston pairs are in the same line and as far as possible from others or. Other piston is 0 clicks away from the top of the robot's chassis and other piston is 4 clicks from the robot's bottom of the chassis or vice versa.

Strengths:
-It doesn't use any electricity.
-Can smash over others if they are enough low.
-It is hard to rip off every extender what are sticking out.
-It is very hard to bang it up so that it wouldn't move at all.
-Moves much better than II mark.
-Moves quite fast if you make it move fast.
-Handling is very good.

Weaknesses:
-It works like it should only every second time.
-Chassis is quite vulnerable.
-It doesn't have nothing big grip but actually that doesn't bother it at all.

Lol Ball II[/u]

Strengths:
-Well actually it doesn't have any good strengths but it is fun to have and it's second brother is coming up soon and that won't be any "Mr. Nice Guy". ;)
-Can be controled somehow.
-Moves somehow.
-It doesn't need any electricity to run.
-Even all air pressure is used out pistons still move and so whole robot will move.

Weaknesses:
-Very poor handling and movement makes it easily destroyable.
-Has very bad grip so it is more like pushed around than it is pushing others around.
-Longer spikes would make it impossible to move but they would protect robot more better.

Because my old thread's first post got it's maximum amount of marks ages ago I decided to start new showcase where I'll post those all old robots but I won't add any strengths or weaknesses to them because I don't any more remember what I wrote for them. But I'll add those infos to my newer robots as usually.

So here those old robots are.

And damit there they are. My whole imageshack account is so full of images that I can't find any older pictures anymore for example my Cube is missing and ... ummm... well there is missing alot of robots. (Or on those days I didn't have the imageshack account yet and that's why I can't those old images what are now gone.)

Oh yeah. You can see them in my Super mega robot pack Part II's screenshot. Here's the link to the page where you can click the screenshot where my all old "died" robots are. https://gametechmods.com/ra2dsl/dload.php?action=category&cat_id=25

General Support / Banged up error.
« on: March 17, 2006, 06:09:44 PM »

What could cause this error? One of the AI robots are already banged up even a match has just started up. I got this same error on old emergency too. First it wasn't banged up at all and then it started to show up in games just banged up.

10
General Support / Net game won't work.
« on: March 09, 2006, 05:38:13 PM »
Yes. Right now I can see 4 servers and on 2 of them I could join but the game just don't let me in. On other two it says that my version isn't same.

Only server what would be good right now is wolfy's it has 90-100 ping and when I press the join button nothing happens only the counter ticks to the finish and then nothing.

It is always this hard to join in game?

Because that annoys more than much because I'm from Finland and I have to play in the middle of the night, clock is here right now 2 am and still I have only few servers on the list and finally I can't join to them.

So is there any easier way to get to the servers than just pressing that join button for hours and hoping that one day I'll get in to the empty server.

And is there any one who could create some sort of easier direct launcher/lobby program where everybody could join and then wait there to some to create a game and when game is created it pops up in this launcher/lobby program and when I press to join in that server I'm then directly in that server without again pressing the join button in the game and just hoping that I'll get in. Of course that would be nice that it says what mods there are included so the game wouldn't crash everytime when I get in to a server what is either 1.00 or 1.20 but it either doesn't have mods or it has some mods what I don't have.

Or could some one code a little program where everybody could write down notes to everybody who has that program and in there write the game's name and all mods what it has and game's core version, is it either 1.00 or 1.20. And of course time when it will be and that +2 GMT or -6 GMT there too so if it starts in america 14:00 and americas GMT is -8 so the time in here would be here 24:00 and that means 00:00, midnight because my GMT is +2. So everybody could enjoy the game more over the internet and have more fun because there is despered need of servers out there. And for now all those four servers are now gone and it is something like 30 minutes later now.

Discussion / About camera.
« on: January 22, 2006, 03:49:49 PM »
Yes I had to add this note here for a long time ago but I didn't ever remeber to.

But now I remembered and here it is.

Could you adjust orbit camera little bit because now it is too sluggish and when you are driving very fast backward (for example you are pushed by Killdozer) you can't see your robot at all only the arena and also when you fly away you can't see your robot for a long time and that is damn annoying because you can't see what is happening to your robot.

So could you adjust it so that it won't any more be so sluggish as it is now and it would show your robot all the time no matter what happened but also it would still tilt and turn and so on as it does now but it just would let the robot get out of the view.

Oh yeah and also would be good thing to adjust camera's acceleration speed because for example when I used my very first Knock Out my camera almost staid at the same place when my robot was moved to the center of the arena.

So could you adjust it so too that it would keep near the same distance where you did set it to be.

Discussion / Little request
« on: January 17, 2006, 04:07:18 PM »
If you could make little fine tuning...

Could you make that storm piston more stable because when I connect 2 of them to each other and then connect a weapon end of the second storm piston what is connected to the first one, second piston flies off after few fights with the weapon and then I have to rebuild my robot all over again.

So could you stablize it more? Or make something what makes it possible to connect 2 storm pistons to each other with out lacks.

General Support / How to turn own robots to AI robots?
« on: November 05, 2005, 05:36:36 AM »
Yes how that goes? I just create a normal robot and add weapons and everything on it and then wire it up and paint it if I want and then add smartzone on it and then I create a new team under AI folder and then name it as Team16 and then copy my robot there and name it as Bot2.bot and that's it?

Oh yeah of course I could add a logo for the team. But does it go something like that?

Because I would like to see some of my own robots against me when I'm waiting for DSL 2.0 to be released so I could see how good they normally and overall are.

14
Discussion / Your robots' genre?
« on: October 04, 2005, 01:34:11 PM »
Yep the topic's name and the poll tells everything.

I choosed 6. for main genre and 5. to subgenre for main genre.

I am always trying to invent something new and lines breaking robots for example look at my Walker, it really walks and look at my speed demon, it doesn't need any moving weapons to make good damages.

And of course I'm trying to invent robots so that they hit like a heck and do as much damage at one hit as possible.

Discussion / DSL 2.0 info to me.
« on: September 04, 2005, 12:16:16 PM »
Yes I haven't been so active user and I have registered here like month ago so that's why ask few questions of 2.0.

How long you have created it?

And do you know at all when it will be released?

Are you still doing it?

I know that DSL 2.0 will maybe come out on some day but that is all what I know.

DSL TC Showcases / Mr. Weedy's Robots
« on: September 04, 2005, 09:51:32 AM »
Because here are some topics of own robots I wanted to add mine too.

Boulder Crusher III[/u]

Strengths:
-When it is upside down it can move on the arena's floor by its "grabbing arms" though it more like hovers forward than moves.
-The "grabbing arms" suck opposing robots in very well though it won't do then any damages to them because discs aren't shacking or so.
-Looks very mean.

Weaknesses:
-It doesn't like at flippers.
-It is bit fat but who wouldn't?
-Its powers are used up quite well when the 3 minutes long match is on the last minute.

Boulder Crusher II[/u]

Strengths:
-If opposing robot drives to ramp it will quite certainly sucked under the drum and smashed. (If it is very very small robot and that kind of robots aren't in the game.)
-Can turn on its side side and do good damages even it is on its side.
-Can fully function upside down and do damages at the same time.

Weaknesses:
-When drum is spinning the robot flips quite easily when it is driving and turning at the same time.
-The chassis is too high but I didn't know it before it was too late and I didn't want to start all over again.

Mine-Sweeper[/u]

When I were against behemoth this thing hitted it every single time over 1000 points. And quite often it hitted over 2000 points. I would have used axel mounts between the disc and clubs but the game messed up them so I did use them even they would have kept the disc on much greater speed all the time.

Strengths:
-Hits hard.
-Has spiked front.
-Can function also upside down and do damages at the same time.

Weaknesses:
-Turns slowly because there are only 2 pulling wheels.

Ass Kicker[/u]

There you go and take a look at Panicattack.

Strengths:
-Moves fast.
-Ramp makes it very hard to get under if robots are face to face.
-Maces do ugly damages on every robot's chassis because they mace robots under.
-Can easily drive under robot what doesn't have very good skirts.
-And also it can easily just drive on full speed towards that robot and fly it in the air and just continue driving if maces are spinning correctly.
-Can easily selfright. That isn't a challenge or anything.
-Can also run away by maces if the situation is too hot and the robot is upside down.

Weaknesses:
-It's sides doesn't like at spinners.
-And spinners also make it spin around and because it's chassis isn't covered it will gain easily damages.
-Ramp must be aimed right if you want to get some robots on it.

Spike Beetle II[/u]

Should I now say that I have now Beetle Bros.    Even this looks quite much same as the original Spike "THE LEGEND" Beetle still this isn't much close to it. First of all when I were testing this against El Diablo, the whole match ended to 2:48 and that 11 seconds went to that El Diablo got to me and that 1 second to that when I destroyed the El Diablo. It scores so fast that the GAME LAGS! For real. It shoots points so fast. So this is little bit improved version of the original Spike Beetle. And as you can see the blade can take little more banging up than on the original Spike Beetle.

Strengths:
-Shoots scores at the same speed as minigun.
-Turns fast and moves fast.
-Blade picks little bit more speed than on the original Spike Beetle. I think.
-Well does it need any other strenghts?

Weaknesses:
-Axel mounts are too weak. Otherwise it would be a melee minigun what you can't beat.

Dead Bull[/u]

Ramming a robot, ramming a robot, ramming a robot around the arenas floor. It is like Killdozer in middle weight class. This robot rams and pushes others like Killdozer does.

Strengths:
-Has much punch in its motors.
-Can drive both ways up.
-Is hard to damage either motors or chassis.
-Has good grip on the wheels.

Weaknesses:
-It isn't very good against some of the flippers.

Walk Smash Walk II[/u]

"When I saw that robot on arena's floor I started to play Motörhead's Burner song. After the fight I started to play Motörhead's Mean Machine song. I lost so clearly. And I thought it would be easy to win."

If you think this mark II is also as bad as mark I you are wrong. Soo wrong.        ...wrooonnggg...        If you think you can beat it easily when you rush it to a corner, you are WRONG. If you bang it to a corner you are destroyed in no time. If you think you can beat it easily in the middle of an arena's floor, you are WRONG again. If you start fighting against it there, you will soon notice that your outer extra armors are gone and it just keeps drifting on you and finally when it stops and starts to pull back, next thing you will see is a big bloody axe swinging into your chassis and cutting your robot to half. If you think you can beat it by ripping of its blades what are attached to motors... you are RIGHT. But how the heck think you to do that.    The robot is so slipery that you won't have any chances to get your own robot to its sides and rip any blades of at all.

And take a look to Sir Killalot again. He rushed this robot to a corner and look what he got.

And in the first picture you can see another destructive movement of the Walk Smash Walk II. When you aren't enough carefull it might drift on your side and so start to roll its both "wheels" and at the same time it starts to lean to side stick so now it is semi vertical full body drum what can roll across the arena's floor doing enormous damages to your whole body. You don't want to be one of those witnesses on who Walk Smash Walk II used its 45 angle attack.

Strengths:
-Body is armored many times and spinning armors make it even harder to destroy.
-Its wheels are weapons and it has very powerful axe attack. It hits worth around 300-500 points.
-Pickaxe is for those robots what come too close to its center area.
-Can drive on what side it ever wants to. Once I made it to go totally vertical and it swinged its axe like mad. It was total destruction gyroscope.
-This mark for real walks over smaller and even little bigger robots.
-It is the robot what you have always scared of.

Weaknesses:
-It is worst bot again in king of the hill.
-You can't use orbit camera on this robot very well.
-It can't move very well straight but who should when you are smashing others?
-Does it have any other weaknesses? I don't think so. Well maybe bad grip but that doesn't bother any more. Because that just helps it but of course not in king of the hill fights.

Big Deal[/u]

Strengths:
-Is very fast.
-May create up to 1200 points of damage at one hit.
-Goes both ways up.

Weaknesses:
-Is hard to drive where it should if other motor is damaged.
-It will easily turn wrong side up and then controlling of it is hard.
-In situations where you need accurate this isn't the best robot.

Boulder Crusher[/u]

Even it looks huge and dangerous it isn't that dangerous at all. And it isn't cheat bot though it may look like one.

Strengths:
-Weapons crush their enemys if they are enough small.
-Even the ramps drop off that doesn't bother much.

Weaknesses:
-There isn't any kind of self rightning but even it is upside down it can slowly crawl by its upper weapon on an arena's floor.

V Syncer[/u]

It is quite tough middle weight robot because it can smash even the Sir Killalot in no time if start is good.

Strengths:
-Has good weapon what can take much hits.
-Is quite destructive in middle weight.
-Weapon turns the robot back on its wheels when it is upside down.
-Base armoring is titanium.

Weaknesses:
-It may flip its front too high if the weapon spins to wrong direction and then its opponent's is easy to destroy it.

Lol Ball[/u]

I made this up because I wanted to make my own "Clickbeetles weird ball robot" because the original file is corrupted and I want to have it and first it got eccentric cam motor in it so it would move but it didn't so I removed it and there it is now. It is just empty chassis with nothing in it.

Slapper[/u]

This robot flashed in my mind when I week or two woke up and closed my eyes for a while. Then this flased in my mind for 2-3 seconds and the first picture is very very close to it what I saw. Only big difference is that this doesn't have slaphappy's wheels on it.

And this is to what I built it.

As you can see I used stacked motors on this robot too and if I remember right it hits something around 2000 points as long as spiked clubs stay on it. After that wedges doesn't do much damage and they drop off quite fast.

Strengths:
-It is good robot as long as the clubs stay on it.
-Has spinning wedge wall protecting it.

Weaknesses:
-When spiked clubs are gone it doesn't do much damages.
-It's top front isn't armored and that's why it is piece of cake to Sir Killalot.

Tornado of Destruction[/u]

It uses stacked motors to spin its fullbody weapondrum. And as you can see it makes enormous damages if the drum gains its full speed. And once I made it to hit worth 7460 points but I didn't get any pictures out of that hit. It was so quick and when my robot did do those damages to Sir Killalot next thing what I saw was points were disappearing and my robot was flown to other end of the arena and rammed arenas wall.

Four and five pictures are at same hit but from different angle. And sixth is from totally different fight as you can see by arena. And last picture is just taken because it looked so nice when Sir Killalot rushed in full speed to its destruction.

Strengths:
-Full body armored and base armoring is also steel.
-Weapons stand a change very well and won't drop off as fast as other 10Kg weighted weapons.
-Is quite fast.
-Fullbodydrum gains enormous speed and makes enormous damages.
-It can selfright when it is on its side.

Weaknesses:
-It takes time to accelerate drum to its full speed.
-Two motors work as a loose clutch when robot is rammed much; the drum stops even motors spin.
-If too much weapons drop off at the same side it looses very much its destructive force.

These two robots are more try-outs than really-meant-to-be-destroyers.

DOOM's Eater[/u]

This is that first try-out robot. I have just few words about this robot. It isn't good. Even it teeth look dangerous it doesn't do much damage and ramps are easily turned wrong side towards front.

Mad Mutant Corp[/u]

This is that second try-out robot. This robot can be very superior if you get too close to it. It loves flippers and rammers because they come too close to it and it arms swing totally like mad and because they are fast versions it is very hard to crawl or roll or what every, to move that robot from point A to point B. It is possible but it takes loads of time. It is best in 4 vs. all but it is worst robot ever in king of the hill fights. It really scores almost all the time if the opponent is near it. It hits all the time like 400 points and multiple times in very short time.

Mad Coal Miner[/u]

This is only a concept robot so I didn't finish it or anything I just wanted to test my idea. And looks like it worked well. Above are 6 most made damage picture. And as you can see it creates massive damages if you hit correctly and I haven't yet seen any other dsl robot to hit 2001 points by spinning vertically. And by the way it hitted twice around 1825 points but I didn't manage to get any pictures of those hits.

So it is very mean concept for a spinning and vertically hitting weapon.

Flatout Turtle[/u]

Strengths:
-Is well covered from everywhere.
-Has multiple weapons against different enemys.

Weaknesses:
-It is invertible as long as it has bars connected to it.
-Weapons aren't good against everybody for example Sir Killalot.

But... Take a look at Matilda.

Hypnotist[/u]

It's all about spinning direction.

Indeed it is. It is most destructive against almost everybody when the hammers are spinning so that they "hit" to each other on top of the robot but sometimes it is good to spin them so that hammers "hit" to each other at the bottom. For example Sir Killalot is quite easy target when hammers are spinning so that they "hit" to each other on top of the robot but Overkill is then piece of cake when Hypnotist spins its weapons so that they "hit" to each other at the bottom.

Strengths:
-Hammers spin fast and they hit worth over 1000 or even over 2000 points when they are aimed right.
-Has very powerful "jump motors" what can turn robot's hammers to hit the ground or... other robot's top of the chassis and so do multiple times bad hits to for example El Diablo or to MOE.
-"Jump motors" work also as self rightning mechanis with weapons.
-If rear wheels drop of with motors it doesn't bother at all.
-Can quickly run away to safe when it is upside down because of very powerful "jump motors."

Weaknesses:
-Chassis isn't covered at all.
-It is cheat bot, although when some of the robots turn to be cheat bot I try to make it as less as possible to be a cheat bot.

Knock Out[/u]

First Knock Out was much powerfuller than this one but because of lack of connecting 2 storm pistons to each other I couldn't play at it more than few times and after that the other front burst piston flew away and I had to rebuild it again.

Strengths:
-Well this isn't strenght or neither weakness but... It doesn't use any electricity at all.
-It doesn't need any dropping off wheels. It slides through the arena's floor.
-Has good armoring and could have even better.

Weaknesses:
-It is hard to handle and especially turn when it is sliding or its front is towards arena's wall.
-This mark isn't as powerful as the first one. And so this isn't neither as fast as first one.
-When gas is going somewhere at the half way it starts to slow down. And especially turning suffers.

Walk Smash Walk[/u]

It is same sort of robot like Powerpack, it gets over its opponents especially when they are low like M.O.E. or El Diablo, though it takes little more skill to drive on El Diablo than on M.O.E., and then it kills them above.

Oh yeah and it is totally cheatbot because it weights 1002.3 Kgs.

And it is only one who has ripped off Dreadnought's weapon.

Strengths:
-It literally drives over lower robots.
-Others have hard time to reach it execpt Sir Killalot, Matilda, Dreadnought and everybody else who have vertical spinner or some sort of high weapons.
-Even the spinner's weapons are gone axes will still do some damages to opponent.
-Even it is jammed to somewhere wheels will do bad damages to its attacker.
-When opponent hits to hammers and it flies up and backwards it hits to axe too so it makes triangle movement and so gains damage to its top too.

Weaknesses:
-Axes may jam to somewhere and it is quite hopeless then unless someone doesn't ram to it.
-Wheels have somewhat bad grip but it is enough good.
-It moves little bit slowly but it has enough torque to burn some rubber and so it can rip off its opponent's sides too if it drives towards it.

Doom's  Tornado[/u]

If I remember right it is my second light weight robot and it's really deadly. When it spins it hits worth something like 500 points so you should avoid it.

Strengths:
-It moves and turns very fast. Little too fast because it is hard to make small sharp turns on it.
-It can damage its opponent even it has only 1 wheel left.
-Very good armoring compered to its weight class.

Weaknesses:
-Exposed wheels.
-Is very hard to drive on steep terrain because it stucks easily.
-Blades drop off somewhat fast.

Chain Macer[/u]

Strengths:
-It has much armoring and it is really tough.
-Self rightning works for 100% but of course not then when arms are dropped off.
-Weapons are fully aimamble. And so you can drive away and still make damage to your chaser.

Weaknesses:
-Axel mounts still crash my event schedule when the event is over and 1 of the axel mounts is dropped off.
-It doesn't like at flippers because it can't make so much damage at once and so it must almost all the time rotate its weapons to self right.

Odd Racer[/u]

As you can see it looks little odd because of its wheel placing. I noticed one thing when I were against M.O.E. When 1 front wheel dropped of the robot moved faster forward and backward and it turned better when it was moving. But it would be little stupid looking when it would have only 3 wheels on dissymmetric form.

Strengths:
-Has a lot of different damaging pushing things on its front.
-It has 2 arms what work also as self rightning mechanism but only when they are in best shape.
-Wheels won't drop off easily because they are crooked towards inside.

Weaknesses:
-Is very hopeless upside down when the arms doesn't have any power.
-Top isn't covered but so far it hasn't needed any cover on there.
-Turns slowly when it is moving but on its place it turns fast.

Spike Beetle[/u]

Spike Beetle is very powerful robot against almost everybody and its spikes do damage as fast as machine gun shoots because of its axel mounted spike clubs. Its only weakness is flippers because when the disc hits the ground the robot needs time to accelerate it back on its best destructive speed. And I noticed one thing on it. When the disc is spinning on the top speed and when the robot goes little out of balance so that robot's wheels doesn't touch the ground the robot hovers very slowly back on the ground if the disc is spinning all the time on its full speed.

And so far this robot is only one who has ripped off the M.O.E.'s weapon with its bracket. And little update. So far this robot is only one who has ripped of Minion's weapon with its bracket.

Strengths:
-Is as low as possible.
-Spinning disc spins on good speed.
-It has many spike clubs.
-Has enough batteries to spin the weapon on good speed even when batteries power level is 2/5.
-Scores as fast as machine gun shoots.  For example Razer's side panel is ripped off in 5-10 seconds and whole robot is destroyed in 12-15 seconds.

Weaknesses:
-When 2 near to each other axel mounted spike clubs drop off the disc can be spinned only on low rpm. Otherwise the robot will be very unbalanced.
-Doesn't have self rightning but it can self right on its disc but it is somewhat hard because the robot's body will spin instead of the robot's disc.
-Needs little time to accelerate disc to its full spinning speed.

Bulldozer Train[/u]

This is my first purely meant to be a rammer robot. It didn't make almost any damages at all so that's why I added a mace there. It looks like a tank or something like that but because it is meant to be a rammer that's why its name is Bulldozer and train word came at its front.

Strengths:
-Very good armoring.
-Moves and turns fast.
-Can push 2 robots at the same time.

Weaknesses:
-It doesn't self right even it has an arm on top of it.
-Doesn't do much damage when the mace is gone.

Shark[/u]

It is my first purely meant to be flipper robot. It flips like mad when the opponent is at the right places. For example I banged the lifter's bar to the roof and it smashed back on my robot when it came down. I wasn't enough fast to take a picture at that but I have taken some other pictures at very fight flips.

But it was so awesome to see how damn powerful it is when it flips correctly. Also back weapons are very powerful. Few times I have destroyed SirKillALot at one hit. And SirKillALot got full health. I just flipped him on his arse and then turned around and fired the burst motors and BOOM HEADSHOT! I mean one hit kill.

Here are those high flips. I'm not sure are those 2 last pictures at that roof banging high flip but atleast those were taken at very high flip. They might be.

Oh yeah and here's fun situation when I were building the Shark. It got stucked under lifter's bar and I didn't get it out of that situation in any way.

Strengths:
-Powerful flipper.
-Powerful back weapons.
-Well armored.
-Has some kind of self rightning.

Weaknesses:
-Has only 2 wheels and they are partly exposed.
-Self rightning needs little bit help when it is purely upside down. Normally it takes a lot of time to turn it back to on its wheels when it is flipped and it has full health. Otherwise it just hops around little bit.
-Moving is slow but turning is little faster, something like good.

Walker II[/u]

It would be quite good robot but bad grip drops it to average. Also it hoovers a lot of points because it can't destroy its enemys fast.

Strengths:
-Its legs work also as weapons.
-Servo motors doesn't use any energy at all. :o
-Can go both ways up.

Weaknesses:
-Its grip is very bad.
-And because of its very bad grip it is most of the time wrong side towards opponent.
-When the spinning weapon hits to opponent the robot will turn.

Corner King[/u]

It has same sort of drive as Typhoon but Corner King goes corner first. Normally robot's weakest points are corners because everything gets easily stucked there. But Corner King's weakest points are sides but even those aren't very weak because spinning weapons are covering them all the time. And of course its corners are much stronger than normal robot's and thats why its name is Corner King.

Strengths:
-Has multiple weapons.
-Is carefully extra armored.
-Has four wheel drive. (If 2 wheels drop off that doesn't bother Corner King.)

Weaknesses:
-Doesn't have self rightning but actually it doesn't need it. Because when it is flipped in the air good control of weapons' spinning rotation turns it back to its wheels.
-Can't beat Sirkillalot.  But it can beat many many other opponents.

Mouth Full of DOOM[/u]

Movie: In this movie you'll see how you should fear the Mouth Full of DOOM robot. Mouth Full of DOOM is robot directly out of heck! Download it at here -> http://www.megaupload.com/?d=RGCVSM3L

My sternest fight ever.

Starting places by picture:

Techno, Me

Behemoth, Killdozer

Behemoth was flipped out of the arena at start of the fight because it was against Techno. Little later Killdozer did rip off my balancing wheels but that didn't harm me because I had ripped of its left side's pulling wheels so it did drove almost circle. After little while I managed to destroy Killdozer's control board little bit. Then came Techno among the mayhem and we rolled to left corner of the arena. (In the picture to right-hand corner.) Then techno flipped me into air and I rolled there and dropped directly my doom's mouth towards killdozer's top and it was only 1 hit away from it's doom.

Then we moved to the corner what is show in pictures. There i managed to first rip off Techno's flipper and after while its front covers and I destroyed it. It left between me, who was in the corner, and killdozer, who was behind techno and back was towards arena's center. Engines smoking we sloooowwlllyy started to smash up Techno between us because it would have taken too long for go around. Lol.  Finally Killdozer managed to drag and rotate its body around Techno. We were towards each other and I started to spin my doom's weapons and we mayhemed little while like tortoises XD then...

TIME'S UP!!!

Time ended up. Though I didn't destroy Killdozer I won like high and mighty warrior.

Strengths:
-Mouth is full of doom. :D
-Kills very fast if opponent is right. (As you can see in the movie.)
-Weapons work as self rightning too.
-Fast turning speed.
-Strenghts win weaknesses.

Weaknesses:
-Back and top aren't armored.
-Poor self rightning. Means that when robot's weapons aren't hitting the ground it is upside down and you can't help it in any way.
-Moves forward and backward very slowly.
-When balancing front wheels are gone it doesn't move forward almost at all if the center weapon's spikes are gone. Because when you start spinning the spikes it rises the robot's front so much that its weapons doesn't hit to the ground any more and so its speed increases.
-Weapons may make it flip when spinning them if the balancing front wheels are gone.
-Oh yeah I almost forgot. Poor base armoring. It's aluminium.

Power Pack[/u]

Strengths:
-Superior movement. Means that in desperate situations it can start spinning its "arms" and it starts rolling above enemy robots so they can't hurt it more than 50 points at once.
-Self rightning is superior. Robot can be upside down or downside up that doesn't reduce its destructive power.
-Pokers are very powerful.
-"Arms" are also very powerful. (Below you'll see how powerful.)
-Aimable pokers. (Means that "arms" are so powerful that they can rise robot from the floor if I want. Normally the robot starts just spinning like mad and smashing everything whitin its reach.)
-Four wheel drive because it is hard to rip off front wheels because of the armoring.

Weaknesses:
-Back isn't armored.
-You need little practice before you can use "arms" optionally.

As you can see. When someone pisses Power Pack off he will definitely get some fists to his face. Notice 1899 points hit. If you schedule Power Pack's arms" correctly you'll get above 2200 points when you are driving towards someone and fire "arms" at the right moment.

In these pictures Power Pack is against 3 Sirkillalots and as you can see the result is crushing

And in this picture Power Pack was against my worst nightmares. I really hate Techno Destructo, M.O.E. and El Diablo. I hate Techno because it is so damn hard to destroy it or rip anything out of it. I hate M.O.E. because it has spinning weapon what always jams to one of my robot's corner and I hate El Diablo because it has spinning drum what always rises my robots and that way they will be destroyed fast. But now it was PAYBACK TIME! Notice what destruction Power Pack did to M.O.E. and to El Diablo. Most of the time I just rolled aggressively on the El Diablo smashing and banging it like raving mad bull when we were last fighters.

Killer[/u]

Strengths:
-Many weapons
-Is ramp based robot
-Maces do much small damage in very short time. Like 10x 100 points in 2 secs
-Self rightning works though it looks fun when robot is self rightning, it spins quite much.

Weaknesses
-Exposed wheels though no one hasn't yet ripped them off
-Maces' spinning motors could be little more powerfuller and faster though they spin maces well by now.
-Is vulnerable when El Diablo's weapon gets jammed between maces and spikes.

Predator II[/u]

Strengths:
-Many weapons and they are good
-Good Armoring
-Revolutionary spinning mace weapons

Weaknesses:
-Self rightning is just a little bit tricky

Are you ready to challenge Predator II? Sirkillalot was and now he is ready to dump pit.

King Puncher[/u]

Strengths:
-Hits hard.
-Has also a poker.
-Robot's front is well armored.

Weaknesses:
-If you want to get maximum turning speed you have to stop spinning the weapon because if you spin the weapon the robot's other side raises in the air.
-Top isn't armored.
-Self rightning is quite a trick. You need spinner's, wheels' and of course the self rightning mechanism's help to turn this robot back on it's wheels. First you have to start spinning the weapon, then start poking at self rightning piston and finally drive backwards so the robot will drop right way up. Little tricky.

But it is good fighter.

These pictures were taken at team fight where 2 Sirkillalots were against my King Puncher. First everything went quite well but then I left between them and gained bad damages at the Sirkillalot what was behind me. Then I managed to start fighting back and I was punching their faces at the same time but finally I lost. But it was fun to punch both Sirkillalots at the same time.  :D

Predator

I cheated just a little bit on this robot. Those front panels are connected to that red sprited bars what are directly connected to robot's base. Because those spinner's motors didn't leave enough room for those base connectors in front so thats why I placed those red striped bars directly to the robot's base.

Strengths:
-Spinning weapon is better than El Diablo's
-And that means spinning weapon is very good and powerful.
-Armoring is good and well placed.

Weaknesses:
-When rotating spinner upwards (so the spikes rotate towards top by front) robot hits little bit to the ground.
-If you rotate spinner upwards and you are crushing enemy robot will flip quite easilly.

Bunker

Strengths:
-Superior armoring. (No one hasn't yet destroyed it totally.)
-Self rightning is quite easy due to it's shape.

Weaknesses:
-Is bit slow.
-Weapons work well only when enemy isn't on you.

-------------------------Ranking list ends-----------------------------------------

So here they are. (From best to worst)

Defender II[/u]

Strengths:
-Superior armoring.
-When spinning weapons are gone poker still works.
-Quite fast.
-Self right mechanism and it works too.

Weaknesses:
-Little hard to make small turn when speeding in full throttle.
-When robot is banged up self right mechanism needs spinners' help to turn the robot.
-Spinning weapons' motors aren't covered by anything.

Some match scores and new time record:

General Support / RA2 and DSL-TC Install tutorial. (OUTDATED)
« on: August 07, 2005, 11:37:22 AM »
Ok hi to all I'm new here and this is my first and maybe the last post here.

This help is for those who are having problems with offical RA2 patch and with DSL mod.

First you have to know do you have cd or downloaded version.
-And follow this instruction if RA2's 1.2 patch installs as it should.

First thing you need to do is find out if it's the downloaded version.
Here's a fast way to check it, go into your UI/botlab directory and check the size of this file "appearance.gib" if it's 21k you have the cd version. If it is something else you have downloaded version.

How do I install THE MOD? (Remember to read first a bit lower how to make correct modding attempt for the game in the section called "On which order do I have to do all the things?")

It is very easy. Download the mod from these sites' download section OR scroll down a bit and see the download links for 1.0, 1.2 and 2.0 versions of the mod. Then open the downloaded packet and extract it to temporary folder called for example DSL mod. When the extracting has finished, go to your Robot Arena 2 folder, select all the files. Right click on them and go to properties, this is like a double check thing to do but it is good to check. Now you shouldn't have any sort of tick in your read-only box. If you do have a tick in it take it away until you see blank box there.

Now go to your temporary folder called DSL mod, if you named it like that, and cut all the things in there and paste them under your Robot Arena 2's folder where you just made that read-only check. Now paste them there and the computer asks you to overwrite this file on this. Click yes to all and now your mod should be there.

On which order do I have to do all the things?

For cd versions and for DSL-TC 1.2: Install v1.2 patch of robot arena 2. When you have installed 1.2 patch install 1.0 DSL-TC mod, see the section above how to do this. Then V1.2 of DSL-TC mod.

For cd versions and for DSL-TC 2.0: Install v1.2 patch of robot arena 2. Then after you have installed 1.2 patch install 2.0 DSL-TC mod, see the section above how to do this. You don't need 1.0 or 1.2 versions of the mod to make DSL-TC 2.0 mod to work.

For downloaded versions: You should already have 1.2 version of your game. To check this go to credits in the game and see the top right corner. There should read 1.20. If there doesn't you can't patch the game.

If you do have 1.20 version of the downloaded version of the game follow the cd version's instructions, just skip the patching process for RA2 game.

Download the official patch for Robot Arena 2 from here. www.robotarena.com

-Make sure you have official cd of RA2 in the cd drive while you are patching the game. OR make your own official cd. Scroll down. Edit: Admin deleted the pirating tutorial. =P

Edit: -I edited the text little so it is easier to read.

Edit II: - I edited the text above much more so it is much easier to read and understand.

-And get the 1.0, 1.2 and 2.0 DSL-TC mods (CD or download) from here (1.0), here (1.2) and here (2.0)

Ok if the RA2's patch doesn't want to be installed.
THIS IS ONLY FOR THOSE WHO'S PATCH WON'T INSTALL!!!
-And follow this instruction if RA2's 1.2 patch DOES NOT install as it should.
(You really shouldn't need to read this because those previous instructions should tell all the necessary things to do.)

If the Official Robot Arena 2's 1.2 patch doesn't want to be installed, don't install it.
But if you have some serious errors what prevents you playing then you are out of luck and your journey stops here.
But if you have only small errors what doesn't prevent you to play the game you are lucky and may can play DSL mod too.

What next? How I get my DSL mod to work?

Now you just have to download the 1.0, DON'T download 1.2 because you don't need it. Now you need a fully fresh install of Robot Arena 2 in your drive.

When the RA2 install is complete make new folder ex. DSL Temp to your drive.

Now install/extract that DSL 1.0 mod to that DSL Temp folder and wait for installation/extraction to be finished.

Now go back to that folder where you did install Robot Arena 2 game. Then make sure you don't have any files on read only. If you do make them readable.

Now go to that folder where you did install/extract DSL 1.0 mod. Now copy or cut everything from that folder to that folder where your Robot Arena 2 game is.

When it asks "Do you want to over write this file? **** at this? *****." click yes to all and when the copying or moving is done you should now have moded version of Robot Arena 2.

Robot Arena 2 DSL 1.0.

If there occures some sort of errors or something then you either did do something wrong or your download of DSL 1.0 isn't full.

UPDATE: Ok I'm not sure did I mess something or what but...

I REALLY want 1.2 version of DSL mod. Is there any way how I could get it working and I could make new team without crashing?

Ok if you are really despered you could test this trick. First do as above is said.

Then go in to the game create 1 new team and then quit the game.

Now download 1.2 version of DSL mod.

Create DSL 1.2 Temp on your drive.

Install/extract 1.2 DSL mod to that DSL 1.2 temp folder.

Copy ALMOST everything from DSL 1.2 Temp folder to that folder where your Robot Arena 2 DSL is. Don't copy components folder but you can copy everything else, AI, Scripts...

Over write everything what it asks.

Now go back to your DSL 1.2 Temp folder and go under components folder. Now copy every folder from that Components folder.

Paste them under your Robot Arena 2 DSL components' folder.

Over write everything what it asks.

Run the game and if new team doesn't crash the game then you just have to remove DSL 1.2 Temp folder from your drive.

IF the game crashes you have to live with the DSL 1.0 mod.

I don't know which of those text files under that DSL 1.2 Temp/components folder causes the crash and that's why don't copy them.
