Tournament Archives / D-lark's Tag Team Tussle, Sign ups - Full pending an examination of all entrants« on: December 22, 2012, 05:32:16 PM »
Hi Gametechmods, after a failed tournament attempt over two years ago, i've re-evaluated what I need to do, and am now completely confident I can host, AI and film an entry level Tournament. So without further ado, I'll present:
![]() That's right, a tag team tournament, but because I know how great everyone is at collaborating, one person will enter two bots, to work together. Rules 1. Each competitor must enter 2 robots, the combined weight of the two robots must not exceed 2. Standard DSL building rules apply (no bfe/aam/hax/you know what these are) or cheatbot NAR ai only parts etc. 3. While each bot may be completely different, they must have a similar paint job for the audience to tell who is on who's team 4. Matches will be held in a re-skinned DSL Tournament Arena, and will last 3 minutes, each team gets one havok restart per match, and is then disqualified ![]() 6. If I do AI your bot, it will be with a standard AI for the bot type, and not altered in a drastic way, if you want a more sophisticated AI, please supply your bindings/.py/tactics 7. Rounds will be a team vs. team single elimination bracket, with a third place match. 8. This will be a fairly short tournament, I'm only going to allow 8 entrants, and thus will not be entering, if you're interested, please say so, and send me your robots ASAP, first come first serve. If you wish to make changes, and there is a waiting list, I will be forced to cede your spot to the next in line, so do make sure your robots are complete before sending. 9. All Robots must show controlled movement 10. There will be no losers bracket this time around, matches are single elimination, except in the case of the semi's where the losers will face off for third place. 11. DSL realistic rule still applies, NOT IRL (if you want to make your bot IRL style that is fine but it is not a requirement) Prizes 1. First prize wins a guaranteed entry to any future tournaments I may host 2. Afterwards there will be bragging rights prizes for, SFTW, Best Engineered and TTTSHDBBDDTBL(Team that totally should have...) Sign Ups Recieved I will be filling up the brackets on a first come first serve, and checking the times of my private messages if i receive more entries than the alotted 8 Approved Once your spot is green, you are locked in, if you make changes though, you will lose your spot to the next in line Problem (Stated in Brackets) If your spot is red, it is forfeit to the next applicant AI'd and ready to go Beige should mean you are done making changes. 1.Ty4er - White Knight and Bright Lights 2.SKBT -120 and False Popup 3.MartyMidget 4.plazmic inferno 5.boombabyboom 6.Conraa 7.Mr.AwesumSauce 8.enigma 3
Tournament Archives / Lucky 7 Tournament« on: March 14, 2010, 10:41:44 PM »![]() 1. DSL 2.1 Middleweights 2. Standard Realistic Rules Apply 3. 16 entrants ONLY 4. No custom or cheatbot components 5. All robots must show controlled movement Tournament Specific Rules The Idea behind this tournament is to get some creative looking Robot Designs, so some stipulations on your building will be put in place. 1.The only components you may attach to your baseplate are those that cannot be attached anywhere else and multi/baseplate extenders.{And Omni Extenders.... If you so wish}[Half sheets attached to the baseplate will be allowed, PROVIDING they are used for extender work/armour and not wedges] (So basically batteries, airtanks, control boards and extenders attached to the baseplate are all that will be allowed) The last two entries I got apparently didnt understand the rules, hopefully by enlarging them people will understand the concept. 2. Wedges are only allowed IF they are not attached to the baseplate 3. NO SNS' 4. Multi bots are allowed but must be AI'd by yourself if you wish to enter. Multi bots may be two different lightweights whose total weight do not add up to over 400kg 5. Heaviest Armour you may use is Titanium 1, anything over is illegal. (This is in an attempt to try and get some unique component based armour systems) AI's I would prefer if you AI'd your own robot, I can if you absolutely can't though. I have the NAR AI 2.2 AI pack, and can probably get any other common AI needed and just make the simple tweaks required to run a smooth tournament (making sure your bot is facing forward pretty much) anything else will be up to the builders. Brackets The brackets will be a simple 16 bracket system. The first 8 qualifying rounds determine into which pool each robot goes. (Winners and Losers) From then on its single elimination. The Runner up in the winners final will then fight the consolation winner for second place. ![]() Each match will be 3 minutes long and held in a re-skinned Prizes https://gametechmods.com/forums/index.php/topic,3460.0.html Go to the discussion Page for more information on prizes, etc. Signups Black: bot recievedYellow: Bot recieved and approved Green: Bot recieved, appproved, and AI'd. Red: Bot disqualified please make a new one or drop out Black:Bot recieved Only 16 spots for the first go Around, if it is that popular we can do a follow up tournament soon! 1.Stagfish - too heavy 2.S.T.C. 3.Pwnator 4.Clickbeetle 5.powerrave 6.Urjak 7.Team Xtreemer 8.G.K 9.Badnik 10. 11. 12. 13. 14 15. 16. Good Luck! Deadline, is well whenever I get 16 approved entries, I guess tentatively the 30th of april but I would prefer to start before then! 4
Discussion / Yet another Suggestion for DSL 3.0 Concerning Certain Balanced Replica parts« on: March 14, 2010, 04:35:24 AM »
Nothing annoys me more, than when im trying to use something like the firestorm flipper or the vlad flippper/spikes/thingy and the AP is off center! So if I want to put one on either side I have to change my extender work screw up the symmetrical aspects of my bot, just to make it work! I understand that these pars are like that so they are effective on the replicas, but would it be possible to fix their AP for the botlab?
