DSL TC Showcases / Lernatix' DSL attempts
« on: June 10, 2009, 12:57:09 PM »
OK I went and put my other bots in the wrong thread... :ban_smily:

MODS:  feel free to merge.  ;)

Anyway I have my latest bot which I'm quite happy with.
I actually won some battles with it, including the RAZOR
which I remember being quite deadly on the TV show.

A LOT of unused and useless space up front. This was an evolution from
another bot design which had a large gas piston in the front. (Major problem
loading stuff on top of a large piston for some reason.) It then turned into
a chinook helicopter that didn't cheat until it hit something. :D  And then
I decided to go with the home made discs. Finally a bot with attitude!

Not a showcase,  I'm a latecomer.  ;)

Seems like some of you guys like to critique bots, here's some more for you.
I will try to self-analyze them, you can tell me if I'm right/wrong/disabled.

My first bots,  well not my first,  let's say they're the first I didn't scrap.  OK.

Mordeth

Too much wasted space, therefore no weight left for more/better weapons.
Overall a very uninspired design, named after "Mordeth13" of YouTube infamy.

Pyramedi-evil

Still some wasted space, weak drive motors and I couldn't get 4 of the burst
motors mounted without an angle on the fourth one.  o_O

Puntosour

Not so much wasted space (I know, still some) and It's probably what you
peeps refer to as "over-powered".  But it does have a working ShRe-mech!

Tankard

Originally designed with tank tracks in mind. (hence the warped chassis)
I soon realized just how bad the tracks were and swapped last minute.
The movement speed is really lacking and the rear spike "cheats" through the
armour plate at the back.  :(
