General Support / Something Weird happened

So, I got a new laptop and decided to install RA2. Stock works fine. Then I downloaded DSL, too. Again, fine.... apart from the fact instead of the improved heavyweight AIs (i.e. Second Sentinal, Grog the Vengeful etc.) there is the original stock heavyweights. All the other classes plus the replicas are as they should be, apart fom the "Bot2" class. And whenever I try to fight the stock ones, the game just crashes.
 
So I tried to swap Bot2 and Bot5 in every team, because then I figured at least I'd be able to do the tournaments, but when I checked to see it worked, the Stock bots were still in the Bot2 slot, and now in the Bot5 slot were the improved DSL HW's..... this has completely thrown me.
 
Can anyone give any advice as to what the is going on and how I can sort it??

.....if you use hypercam, how do you get it to...erm...work? coz whenever i try to use it when it starts recording the game just freezes and i can't get anything done. any advice, peeps? or any other recording system i can use?

DSL TC Showcases / Tourdeforce's showcase

Hey, everyone! Seeing as my good friend Ice the Frosty Cat recently did a showcase, I thought it was time I did my own.
PLEASE NOTE: I have had the game just over a year and I rarely stack (though I have started stacking batteries), use teeny chassis etc, so please don't be too harsh on my robots. Apart from that, all comments and criticism appreciated. Cheers also to Ice for uploading all the pictures (because my computer won't let me do it myself).
First up, Cheese Grater

This is meant to be a sort of response to Wheely Big Cheese (Same wheels, Cheesy pattern etc.). As you can see, it uses a mixture of stock and DSL because I made this before i got the patch and didn't realize stock parts were considered cheating. It used to have 3 black batteries and one orange because I had no idea about over-powering :tongue:. But I changed it to the smaller batteries you see now (I did that right before I took the picture, which is why it's lighter in the second one). The blades are awesomely destructive and it hardly ever loses against AI. Anyway here's a battle shot

I ripped off all of Velociraptors left side, including wheels, and some of the front weaponary protection and a bit off the other side. I really like this robot, although it is hard to control. Ice has made a couple of upgraded versions, the most recent one with two razer claws (even better than this one i think)

I'll have more robots soon.

hey, i've got DSL, but after seeing some awesome stock robots i want to give it a try again. i've looked on downloads and there's nothing that specifically says STOCK COMPONENTS. anyone know how to get the stock components WITHOUT reinstalling? (i've reinstalled so many times i'm seriously sick of it)

ok, so after some problems with RA2, i've reinstalled it, and sure the game itself works fine (i've even built what i think is a nifty little stock bot) but in the RA2 folder all there is is the uninstall icon- nothing else. No AI, teams, components- nothing. i tried putting DSL into it to see if thst did anything, but still- it's just stock. it's weird.

CAN ANYONE HELP ME PLZZZZZZZZZ
