Custom Components Showcase / Revamped Ram Plates Showcase
« on: January 17, 2011, 09:11:32 PM »
I decided to come out and make a showcase for my components. These custom bots were built not too long ago for the sole purpose of seeing how many purposes I can come up with for using these components.
My first two components consist of the ram plate and the beater bar (which I found that the beater bar originated from the ram plate, or at least that is what the GMF file said).

Gyro Lad uses the first set of components, which are stabilizers that help the bot keep itself down, but this particular set of components aren't long enough to keep it stable other than when it starts to spin up and while driving. The original use of the component was for axe bots to keep them stable. I was inspired by a Killerhurtz RC bot I used to own, but it got thrown away
.

Jolt shows both of the components being used for different purposes. The second component is a beater bar turned into an axe. I used the axe component as a stabilizer, and it does a great job keeping the bot from tipping forward too much when flipping.
I'll be making a few more components as I slowly come back to Robot Arena 2. Between Gran Turismo 5 and college, I haven't played around with Robot Arena 2 much, but I am still interested in this game.
