A wild gimmick appears! RULES:BUILDING RULES: -Stock HW (800 kg) - Bots must have a number of powered wheels that is odd and greater than 1. (I'm expecting mostly 3-wheelers, but hey, 5 wheels, 7 wheels, 203 wheels, whatever floats your boat) -Multibot rule: each part of the multibot must fit the above rule. Total number of wheels between the multibots does not matter. -No SnS because they're lame -Bots must show controlled movement -No non-stock components (this includes reskins) -Flamethrower allowed, other cheatbot components are not allowed -AI components allowed -No BFE, AAM, EXP, or whatever other crazy acronym you guys use -Rule of 7 break allowed; other SergePatcher features are not OTHER RULES: -Combat Arena, hazards off (may change on suggestion) -3 minute matches -Best of 1, double elimination -Havok rule: first match-altering havok = restart. Second match-altering havok = forfeit. -16 spots (or maybe more if there's a ton of interest) -I will enter with Sealion Hammersmith (of course): SIGNUPS:- Thrackerzod- RedAce- battledutchman- DeadGenocide- WenXiangLee- Hi5er- R1885- Badger- Botomatic1000- Mystic2000- Green = AIed Black = Accepted Red = Promblem Deadline is July 11th, 11:59 PM Countdown to deadline: Signups over!

SBV thread: https://gametechmods.com/forums/index.php?topic=18991.0First of all, I'd like to thank everyone who entered. This tournament wouldn't have worked without all 16 bots, and I was worried that someone would slack off and not send anything. Turned out not to be an issue though, so thanks for that! Next, I have an INCREDIBLE prize for the winners. Bobyasianboy, for winning Friendship Rumble, and KingofKings696, for winning Rival Rumble, may enter a bot 0.1 kg over the weight limit in my next tournament. Also, you can have the edited arena file if you want it, I guess? I have some awards I want to hand out, and some other ones for y'all to vote on. My awards are: -BIGGEST TROLL: Thrackerzod -FAVORITE BOT NAMED AFTER A QUIPLASH STREAM: Two Scarves -LEAST LIKELY TO BE ELIMINATED: literally just re\/olution but in dsl -BEST USE OF HYBRID RULE: 5x -BEST BOT WITH A QUESTION MARK IN ITS NAME: Who Needs Research? -BEST BOT WITH AN EXCLAMATION POINT IN ITS NAME: Mister Smash Smash Bash-Kun! -BEST BUILDER WHO HAS COMPETED IN ALL OF MY TOURNAMENTS: RedAce -BEST LOGOS: Pizzaguy2020 And here are the ones for y'all to vote on: -FAVORITE BOT: -MOST UNLUCKIEST: -BEST TEAM SYNERGY: -GOT THE MOST SCREWED BY THE GIMMICK: -FAVORITE EPISODE:

Surprise! (disclaimer: this was okayed by Yugitom before the tournament began) WHAT'S CHANGED:You're not actually rivals! You're teammates! Hooray! This will be a standard single-elimination tournament between the 8 different teams. We're still in the Ring Arena, but I've edited the starting points slightly. Normally, the teams in the Ring Arena start like this: (red is one team, blue is other team) Then, usually the two bots on one team go after the same opponent: Then the teammate bots crash into each other and it's a mess. So instead I swapped around two start points so it's like this: which should fix the problem. SPLASHES:BRACKET:VIDEOSFRIENDSHIP RUMBLE: Gaucheasiansuede vs Kossoyar: Gaucheasiansuede wins 3-0.
KingofMystics6000 vs 090904er: TheDeadBlur vs Mr. Ice Squirrel_Ace vs team popup Gaucheasiansuede vs 090904er: Gaucheasiansuede wins 2-1

This was going to be my 800th post, but I overshot. Instead, it's my 800th + 42 post, which is also pretty good, I guess. The best new tournament host 2015 is at it again with another terrible gimmick tournament! BORING RULES:-DSL 2.2, standard building style, HW -No cheatbot parts, custom parts, etc. -Multibots are not allowed -No BFE, AAM, EXP, or whatever other crazy acronym you guys use -Arena will be the Ring Arena, 3 minute matches -Single elimination, best of 3 matches -16 (hopefully) spots -I will not enter. -Havok rule: In the event of a major havok occurring during a match, I will rerecord the match. If you feel like your bot was unfairly influenced by a havok that I did not consider restart-worthy, say something and I'll see about redoing the match. THE GIMMICK:-Entrants will signup without actually entering any robots yet (kinda like Pot Luck) -All entrants will select a rival (the rival must also be in the tournament, obviously) -Rivalry must be mutual; If I asked ACAMS to be my rival and he said no, I'd have to pick someone else. -Similarly, if I pick ACAMS to be my rival and he said yes, then he would not also get to pick a second rival. -If there are an odd number of entrants by the time the deadline rolls around, whoever entered last will not be able to participate, unfortunately. -Once the entering phase is completed, each entrant PMs me a bot type (must be only one type; no hybrids). Their rival has to build a bot of this type. I will post the assignments once they all have been made. -I reserve the right to refuse any given robot type. Gyro Drills, Crawlers, SnS and Trinity bots are banned. -All entrants will build their bots and submit them and all that jazz. -Hybrids are okay so long as the main weapon system is the assigned type. For this tournament, "main weapon system" is defined as "the one with the most weight, including extenders, baseplate anchors, motors, etc." The weight total does not include batteries, however. -The first round of the tournament will be rival vs rival matches. After that, it'll be a standard single elimination tournament. ENTRANTS:1. TheRedBlur2. Squirrel_Monkey3. Sircreepalot24. Geice5. RedAce6. DeadGenocide7. 0909018. Gauche Suede9. kaiser11218310. Hey I just had a thought. Click, RedAce, y'all up for a BotM rumble match? Just to see what happens?
Why not, as long as Click is up for that, then I don't see a reason not to.
Sure, if you want to make a thread in the challenge board I'll AI Kaleidor and send it over. I reckon I can use Thwartoise's AI.
___________________________ So this is gonna happen. Let's use the DSL tournament arena, unless RedAce or Click has a problem with that. Also we could use a host, if someone's up for that.

(donno where to put this)
Let's say I'm making a Ironforge multibot. Does each half get 4 free ballasts, or do I get 4 free ballasts for the whole thing (ie, 2 per bot)?

So I'm trying to play the game on my laptop, and there's a weird issue when I fullscreen. There are two black bars on either side of the monitor, with the game squished between them. I tried to get a screenshot, but in the screenshot the black bars were not visible. This happens with both Stock and Ironforge (haven't downloaded DSL yet to test.) This didn't happen when I played the game on my other computermachine. Any idea what's going on?

420th post celebration! Behold: It has 8 10kg hammers and drives by firing the pistons on a certain side. It can also do a jump move by firing all the pistons at once. I mainly built this just in case there's ever a BTTB Ironforge.

Idea stolen from: https://gametechmods.com/forums/index.php?topic=15334.0Howdy everyone! While Samurai Showdown winds down, I figured I'd get this up for discussion. You can check that link there for the original ruleset; here's my take on it: - Stock MW (May change to DSL if no one likes stock) - Everyone enters 3 robots. Team themes are encouraged but not mandatory. Robots must display controlled movement to be accepted. - I don't mind doing AIs, but I'm not very good at it, so if you want it done right, do it yourself. - Matches will be held in the DSL Tournament Arena, hazards on. - Each robot in a team will fight one robot from the opposing team, for a total of three fights per round. - Before each match, each player will PM the order they'd like to use their robots in. If they don't send the PM by a set deadline, their bot order will be randomized. - The winning player will swap one robot from his team with one robot from the losing team. Again, if they do not choose by a set deadline, the switch will be randomly selected. - There will be a loser's bracket, because that should be fun. - Standard building rules, i.e. no BFE or AAM or whatever other crazy nonsense. No cheatbot components either. - Matches with havoks will be rerun. Havoks will not be shown unless they are particularly interesting. - Ideally, there will be 16 entrants. - I will not enter due to balancing issues. And of course, - For winning Samurai Showdown, one of 090901's bots may be 0.1 kg over the weight limit (399.1 kg). So, any interest? Also, is it okay to just steal the idea?

Conglaturations to our winner, 090901 with in cold blood! As a prize, you may enter a robot that is 0.1 kg overweight into my next tournament! Thanks to everyone who participated in this tournament. I had fun, hopefully you did too. So let's do some awards. BEST USE OF SWORDS: MOST UNEXPECTED: BEST MATCH: My votes are: BEST USE OF SWORDS: Shogun Warrior. The classic overhead slice technique. MOST UNEXPECTED: Glaive. Wasn't expecting to get a sidehammer slicer thing. BEST MATCH: Wirklich vs Glaive. Two close rounds and one ridiculous one. Both bots had a good shot here.
