Modifications / Re: Comission for a New Arena??

It's already here. Also, ever tried DSL?

That doesn't have any OOTA zones

As for commissioning and arena, you're probably gonna have a hard time. There's only a few people around who actually have the skillset to make an arena, and from what I understand it's a hell of a lot of work. Your best bet would probably be something like the starcore arena, which has a pair of pulverizers and 2 arena flippers in the centre (similar to the octagon arena) but that has OOTA zones the whole way around. The arena's fairly big though and the walls are reasonably high so with the stock bots you're using OOTAs shouldn't be too common. Here's a screenshot of it:

Hey Roboteer, I know you  ;)
This arena looks interesting for sure, would have to download and test it, and it would DEFINITELY need skinning. But I appreciate the reply

If that's what I'm thinking it is, it's got the damn hellraisers right? Was hoping to find a solution without those bastards lol

Modifications / Comission for a New Arena??
« on: January 30, 2021, 09:10:34 AM »
Hello GTM!

I'll keep this post short and sweet (hopefully). I want to upgrade the arena I use for tournaments. I currently use a skinned combat zone, but I'd love for it to, at the very least, have 2 pulverizers. At max, 2 pulverizers and 2 OOTA corners.

I don't even know if it's possible to mod an arena like that, but if it is - and someone here knows how to do it - I'd be willing to offer some Benjamins for the task

you don't need to decompile the gmf to make a rad with the same power as a ztek

either decompile the components.cfz and edit the existing txt file (not worth the effort), or just make a new
motor by making a new .txt file (guide to this here: http://beetlebros.gametechmods.com/modding.htm)

Thank you for this link. It looks like too much for me to tackle atm but I'll probably investigate this more for next year's Reborn Cup  ;)

Neato bfe should be fine, its what I've been using when I made Icewave. If you want any bots looked at and improved, feel free to drop a message to me on here or discord, I'll happily help you out with some
[/quote]

thank you! I tried repairing LockJaw yesterday and he gave me fits, Mecha Rampage has also been tough. Most everyone else should be good though. Just used BFE to make RotatoR a bit better so I'm glad I made this post.

Do you know if it's possible to adjust the bot file to make one motor act like another? If I could make an angle motor act like a ztek that would save some headaches lol

thank you everyone for your responses, I'll check out the links when I have some time tomorrow! :)

I assume this is for Battlebots Reborn, if so. Then the below method should be fine

You can use Bot file editing to move the disc downwards/upwards after attaching it to the motor. Here's a link to a guide on how to do it: https://gametechmods.com/forums/tutorials-and-tips/bfe-a-beginner's-guide/

you'd be right  Today I was working on Mecha Rampage, but he's not the only one that would benefit form it

Modifications / A custom arena

Hello,

I was wondering how difficult it would be to have a modded Combat Zone that had a couple pulverizers in the corners.

I have a custom-skinned Combat Zone that (if you don't know who I am ;D) I use for tournaments. I would love to add pulverizers to it to be able to give non-spinners a better chance at success.

Hey y'all, this question is based off stock, vanilla RA2.

As we all know, weapons without zteks are useless. Unfortunately, zteks are very thick and difficult to use in thin, low-profile, invertible bot builds.

I know with component freedom it's possible to, say, attach an extender to the bottom of the ztek, then attach a disc to the extender and have the disc sit somewhat within the ztek motor, but sometimes that isn't enough. Has anyone discovered a way to get a disc to sit, like, literally in the middle of the zteks? If so, it would help me out a lot with many different builds  :laughing

Discussion / Re: DSL Obstacle course arena?

Thank you for putting this up, but unfortunately it didn't work :/ I'm think it's because I have 2.2 and the arena was for 2.1 but I'm not sure if that's how it works lol

Discussion / DSL Obstacle course arena?
« on: January 19, 2018, 09:04:28 PM »
Hello everyone,

I'm searching for a DSL 2.2 arena that I used to play in years ago. The arena featured many obstacles bots had to get through, and in the very middle was a King of the Hill style stage, where the bots would finally meet and hit each other. I just did some searching in the arenas section on this site, but I can't find it. If anyone knows what arena I'm thinking of, help would be much appreciated xD

General Support / Re: Need help making a custom part

First, thank you everyone for offering your assistance!

Second, I'm now closer to making this part, but I apparently haven't done everything correct yet.

I now have a .txt file edited for the new part. New name and description, weight changed too.

But when it comes to the uncompressing of the .CFZ file, I'm getting confused (I'm actually dumb af with this sort of stuff, if it wasn't obvious yet). In CFZ compilier, when I look for the components CFZ file, doesn't show up. So either something's wrong or I'm missing something easy here :/

for stock, you need to un-compress the CFZ file. .txt files are in the components file, not in the component's specific folder.

For more info, look here:
http://beetlebros.gametechmods.com/modding.htm

7-zip isnt showing an option for uncompressing :/

Hi GTM, hope you all are doing well!

I am here to get help making a custom part. For those of you that watched season 2 of BattleBots Reborn Cup, you'll know that a substitute piece for ram plates - one that causes no damage (and maybe weighs less) is needed.

I did a Google search that taught me about .txt files, but I couldn't find those in the ram plates folder. The only files I found were a jumbled mess when I opened them in Word. I'm not sure where these .txt files can be found.

So I come to y'all, the all knowing internet people, for assistance.

Thank you,
Nick "The Barangoat"

Hello GTM users! So it's Friday, and I know this should've been up a few days ago, but my Monday was spent in England. Our group went multiple places, then I followed that up with the Chelsea game, so time was limited to make a post. Then I thought "**** it, it's already late, just don it when you're back home."

Here are the FINAL SEVEN bot previews:

Voltronic: http://imgur.com/49L45E7
Warhead: http://imgur.com/OjlkfCL
Warrior Clan: http://imgur.com/7uDcZlB
Witch Doctor: http://imgur.com/bJwz289
Yeti: http://imgur.com/3thCw9o

Hope this has helped raise interest. The second season of the BattleBots Reborn Cup starts in TWO DAYS!! I promise that if its easier for anyone to view the videos on here, I'll share them just like I will on Facebook and Reddit.

So yeah. It's time yall. See you Monday for the premiere! :)

Tazbot looks good, despite stock's limited component selection.

edit: Have you considered using Component Freedom to make your bots? I feel it'd help out a lot.

In love with that Tabot! And personally I haven't tried yet, I'm not sure if I even have the proper stuff downloaded to try it. But one sub named Doodle has been sending in a lot of his recent work and he uses CF incredibly well!
