Yeah I really want to make the IRL bot more cool-looking, but I have issues adding custom textures to the list for some reason. Thanks for the feedback though guys.

HOLY sh** I'M ACTUALLY ALIVE?! ===== The first one is an artbot called Apache. I just wanted a helicopter... Didn't turn out as well as I'd hoped but it was a learning experience. Flamethrowers for guns of course... since Apache is a gunship it just felt right. I love the smell of napalm in the morning. ===== The second is an IRL battler that is designed, pure and simple, to win battles in my hands. AI wouldn't handle it well, but in my hands it beats almost anything 1-on-1. Matador is a heavyweight, invertible rammer. It's not flashy and it's not revolutionary, but it's damn good at what it does. It also handles and drives like a dream, so it's really fun to run around with, and easy to just dodge opponents' attacks and trounce them with the hammers. The blades on the back end are less useful as a weapon, but they provide a Zero ground clearance on that end in the event that Matador gets overturned and renders the rear scoop's ground clearance moot. They also look great in my opinion The hammers on the front run pretty much flush to the ground both ways up and really damage opponents massively at full speed, which the robot reaches easily because of its huge acceleration and amazing stability. PS. Ignore the "Middleweight" in-game classification. It is heavyweight by IF standards obviously, but it also wins battles against IF Heavyweights, not just the middleweights. Anyway, there's my two creations for the first time in months, hope they are alright!

It's not a dragon without a flamethrower, it's just a wyvern.
Actually, the difference between the two is that a Wyvern has 4 limbs (with the forelegs and wings on the same limb) and a Dragon has 6 limbs (wings separate from the legs). So this is a dragon. I'm not messing about with hoverbot and cheats and all that stuff, I'm just sticking to the base game.

Thought I'd have a hand at another animalistic design. SO... from scorpion to dragon... Couldn't get it down to under 400 kg (even with 1mm Plastic it was sitting above 420), but that didn't really matter to me since this one is REALLY not designed for winning tournaments, just as an artbot that can drive well (which it can, surprisingly enough). Wanted to put a flamethrower / ice thrower in or behind the mouth for a firebreathing effect, but there wasn't room without it being obnoxiously on view. Ah well, maybe I'll make a bigger one and try again at a later date. Also couldn't hide the wheels anywhere with it actually still being driveable and looking decent, so I left 'em. I'm fairly happy with how it turned out, but I prefer Arachnoid overall.

Armour? Power source? Motors? Looks pretty decent in a fight though, especially for middlewights.

Not a bad start for a standard, although I worry about its longevity in a fight with other heavyweights. Good use of flipper skirts though. You could use the dark skirt + scoop instead of the flames ones if you don't like the aesthetic of the flames, the dark ones are still pretty dang sturdy and it would free up a bit of weight for superior armour.

Can i ask why the download contains no AI? I tried this and I was stuck battling against the basic bots from RA2, rather than any DSL bots.

Ok... need to get my hands on Ironforge as well.
DO EET! I've seen your DSL showcase, you have insane talent in that mod. I'll be rather excited to see what you can do in Ironforge with those skills. --------------- Anyway, I built a thing. A spinning thing of the horizontal persuasion. Middleweight at 196.5 kg, plus one ballast because Blackbird motors and a Perm 80 weapon motor are overkill for instability when your robot weighs under 200. :P I also ensured there were no intersecting or stacked parts, so... does this class as IRL? I'm a little wary of that bit of the Perm 80 motor sticking out of the top but it's unavoidable unless I redo the entire robot to raise the chassis (which I'm not doing).

Repairing is not a factor because we do tournaments via AIing bots then using exhibition, so dont factor it in. You could try using two hammers, running extender supports as well to them and doubling the damage.
Ah, interesting. Well in-game, it is a factor so i'll keep it like it is for now, and then if entered into a tournament I'll edit it first and update the thread to reflect that. Thanks for the info :) -------------- Gonna try my hand at a, IRL horizontal spinner in a minute. First off, here's a Lightweight I built quickly using the same "scoop" method as the robot above: Not something I invested much time into, I grant you, but hey, it works well enough even on a 20 Amp supply and can deal decent damage as a rammer or an SnS in a pinch. Best for maps with a pit / ledge to push other robot off though. I'll probably try a more serious LW in the near future though. I do like the look of it though.

Hmmm, well it IS slightly underweaponed I'll agree, but while it was built with Standard rules in mind I wanted the build to also look good, (somewhat artbot-like as Avalanche has pointed out) - which in my eyes, the rear scoop does. The large hammer was just my preference visually, plus it has much more HP than axe heads / spikes would, and is easier to repair.

The side extenders are rather pointless, just seems odd to me. The back is held on by one extender which simply is not IRL, so this is now DSL-s with a artbot shoved into the mix. The back flipper makers not being connected is slightly oddas well. But altogether, i kind of like it. The spikes on the hammer look off though, but oh well.
I'm gonna have to agree with Avalanche here; the side and back extenders are pretty messy looking to me, and that single extender holding all that back stuff does not look like it would work IRL at all. Honestly I'm not sure why you went for such an unusual chassis shape if you were just going to add that back section that far out - I would either remove that back stuff completely (save for the two wedge bits protecting the tracks), or switch to a chassis with a more square back end so you don't need that single extender looking so flimsy, everything coming from baseplate anchors. I'd personally also remove the stuff from the top of the hammer to make that look a little cleaner, but I understand if you want that there for a little extra damage.
Ignoring the back stuff and those side extenders, however, it looks like a pretty good build to me.
This one isn't meant to be IRL, it's just standard haha. And the flipper makers on the sides and back are for assisting self righting, I tried to make them as discreet as I could, or at least not be obnoxiously out of place. The back being held on by one extender was unfortunately necessary for weight, but it DID leave the whole back end very vulnerable, hence the dark armour plating (hard to see in these images to be fair) underneath it.

That does look kickass, even if that extender skeleton seems overkill to me...
Thank you! And I agree, but I kind of like it for that. :P It's not a good battler anyway, it was mostly my practise robot for extender work. ------------------- New robot time! The scoops at the front and rear are made of flipper maker segments and run absolutely flush to the ground, without any of the wobbly instability of using flipper skirts and hinges. Really useful for pushing and fighting flippers and undercutters, and ensuring a successful hit when I ram opponents with those rear static hammers. Also made use of a camo texture pattern for more of a "tank" feel. EDIT: Added black strip decals where the hammer moves.

Finally tried my hand at an IRL robot. Not sure if it truly classes as IRL, but I've made sure there are no intersecting moving parts, etc. It's not fantastic in battle due to the general lack of weaponry, but this was mainly practice for me in extender use. Still, fairly happy with how it turned out, although I did have a lot of annoyance with the Rule of 7... Super Heavy Weight, mostly because it ended up going a lot bigger than originally intended. Ah well, it's all a learning experience. Took a while to figure out a srimech that a) worked, b) I liked the look of, and c) didn't intersect with the body or weaponry. Starting to get to grips with Ironforge now though, so I'm slowly improving.

I just battled and had trouble using my weapon because of the static blades obstructing, so I'll heed your advice and remove them. The rest of the robot is identical though so I won't bother psoting pics.
Also yeah, I thought with 600 kg being the SHW limit and 800 kg being the in-game limit, it would be UHW automatically. If that's incorrect, we should have a name for the 600.1 - 800 kg weight class.

The point of it was to make a bot with an Avatar: The Last Airbender theme, not to make a good battler. :P Anyway, I've edited Shredder X to a 1-motor srimech and a more standard VS weapon. Improved or naw? (Also, am I correct in thinking the dark side of the crushing teeth is the damaging side?) Also, I can't think of a way of making the srimech any more discreet without it either a) going through the spinner when i use it, or b) completely changing the body shape. Any suggestions would be good.

I'm not bothered with it right now, I'm busy building other robots and I'll edit it later. Anyway, here is... The Avatar! "100 years passed and I discovered the new Avatar, a... robot. The only robot capable of using all four weapon elements. He's hard to use and poor in battle, but I believe the Avatar can save the world." The wheels going through the chassis annoys me, but the only way I could avoid it would be using RC Motors which reduced the robot to a crawl when I tried it. Obviously, this isn't meant to be realistic or anything, I just wanted to make a themed robot.
