Are there any other mods or AI besides dsl 2.1 that people are commonly using these days in the tournaments? ? I'm using dsl 2.1 for everything, but if there is something more current, I would rather work with that.

Lol, that battleshot is priceless!  Which component actually makes it fly?

Doesn't fly intentionally, more out of incidence from centrifugal force/game physics. Its an out of control spinner. I just lucked out and snapped that at the right time.

Looks sexy, that much is true.  Do you mean you beat Stock or DSL Emergency?

By the by, you can't have more than one thread per Showcase subsection - what you want to do is rename this topic to something generic like "Brian's Awesome DSL Robots"  and show off all future DSL-based robots in this thread.

Noted, thanks. Beat the Emergency in 2.1. As long as it is in a cage, it beats around until the tail rotor separates, then it just becomes an upside down spinning blade. Had to do a lot of experimenting. Its fun to watch, but not much skill required for AI and more overall luck of the blow than anything. Surprisingly I have yet to see a main rotor or the tail boom get separated.

I found RA2 back around 2002. It was a bad ass concept. I messed around with it for awhile, and then gave up on it because it was buggy and it didn't seem to have much going on. I was bored last week, so I found it again. Never had any idea it eventually gained such a following, though sadly much of that following seems to have disappeared. Kicking myself now because I would have had fun over that time instead of wasting money on iRacing & FSX. RA2 is truly ahead of its time for what it is.

I've read through the forums the last few evenings to figure out python enough to adjust the scripts for  the bots I've created. I've worked with object-oriented programming before.

I'm currently running DSL2.1, but I've downloaded a few AI scripts to compare.

Curious as to where this community is nowadays tournament wise, and what versions/add one everyone is using (legally) for tournament designs. I would love to get involved in some tournaments if there are any still going. No serious bots yet, but I did create a couple of spinners that look like helicopters. Pardon me if I seem a little non RTFF; So far I have just been in the forums enough searching to figure out the AI stuff.

Thanks

Brian
