Thanks for the feed back on my bot, it weighs around 711.2 kg with 3 steel armor. Also other engines have some trouble fitting into the bot, but I may try to make a bigger version which hopefully will improve. And the arm has 360 rotational ability because I play multiplayer on gameranger and it comes in handy then.

My first bot showcase: Spin King
Spin Kings main weaponry is a hammer mace that sits on a servo motor. The bot is a heavy weight despite its size. The servo is connected to an multipurpose connector which is connected to a zero degree base plate. The servo is controlled by Q and E. This is built for if I get caught in a corner I can swing it around and bash on my opponent. The mace normally goes above most defensive measures and strikes behind on the top where it is vulnerable. The arm also allows me to right my robot if it gets flipped. The draw back to this design is that my bot is small for its weight class and the rod the mace is connected to is 120 cm of polycarb, meaning that it is easily broken. The reason it is connected to the polycarb and not say steel is because any added weight causes the arm to glitch and spin wildly. To counter this problem I lessened the arms weight which fixes the problem 90% of the time. Thats all I have to say about my bot feel free to improve upon the design. Good Luck if you try ![]() 7
Discussion / Re: The Good and bad of the Nerd3 delivery of people.« on: March 24, 2014, 08:42:32 PM »
I'm new and from nerdcubed as well and I intend to stick around. I was never much of a robot's battling each other fan much before (I saw a lot of the robot wars games and how limited they were) but after Dan's I was full blown, "Give it to me now!" And then in the subreddit craaig posted the link which gave me the DSL 2.1 download. After that I explored the site and joined shortly after. I hope that the community stays strong and new mods come out to add to the game.
PS give me shout if you want to play multiplayer using gameranger. I noticed 2-3 people is about max. 2 players if you live far apart. 8

I have the DSL 2.1 download version, I got a link from craaig and it worked fine. The errors I'm getting started occur after I copied the files and made a second version of the game in which I installed the DSL 3 and Robot Wars 2013 mod. I'm able to make it through a few events and then when I reach the compressor arena the AI don't move, and then it crashes a error message appears and then is gone a few seconds later. This is happening in the DSL 2.1 game that I have NOT modified beyond downloading it. The modified one is the second one Containing DSL 3 and Robot Wars 2013.
Recap: Download, DSL 2.1, compressor arena game crash, have other RA2 game with DSL 3 and Robot Wars 2013 mod installed. Crash occuring with DSL 2.1 version. 9

Thanks for the info! I really love this game and feel almost kinda out of place since like you said this is like the last forum that talks about RA2 and its a very tight nit community. But I can't wait to see everything this community does and what it can offer.

Online Battles / Re: GameRanger help« on: March 22, 2014, 10:52:17 PM »
I had the same problem as well when I started. What happened with me (this is the best my memory can remember) was when prompted to buy the game I think they had a little spot for where I could find the game on my computer. I clicked on it and went to my desktop where I had the icon. I double clicked it and it entered into a little text box under the "Buy now" option. After that I was able to host games. Sorry if this is a little vague but I thought, "Hey better to point the guy in the general direct."

Online Battles / GameRanger Multiplayer games« on: March 22, 2014, 10:46:44 PM »
I've recently gotten Robot Arena 2 and I'm loving it, but I found out that normal multiplayer doesn't work, atleast not for me, so I got Gameranger and hoped on in hopes of getting in a game, but I found none. I'm assuming that this game will come back around to the spotlight in some capacity atleast because of Nerdcubed's video. But I'm wondering if anyone intends to start a game and if so I'd love to join. Also could someone explain to me the possible lack of MP games? Thanks
