Firstly, in the UK you really dont need expensive lawers and drawn out court cases to get these things enforced - its alot easier than that if making small claims ect.
Secondly, Abandonware is still covered under Copyright. If the owner wanted to pursue distributors of their content they are fully entitled to do so and you can be criminally responsible for it. In this case its not abandonware as the content creator still actively uses it.
Also i dont play RA2, infact i dont even use my PC anymore. Plus since i have about 10 real world robots to take care off and am a professional roboteer - i kinda prefer doing other things nowadays in my free time :P

If you want some sh**post idea's that will probably get you muted, just post something along the lines of these postsYou're finished with this forum anyways HB. The RWRA2 mod team is long disbanded. Why do you care?
On that logic i have a Dystopia shell in my garage thats not being used anymore. Why not break in and help yourself to it? Hell theres a PS3 in my bedroom which i havnt used for at least 2 years. Guess that gives you the right to just take it from there and keep it for yourself right? Its called Intellectual property theft, and no it is not ok. It is a criminal offence to be using that content without permission. The content creator has the right to control distribution until they give the express permission otherwise. I guess otherwise Game would be totally cool with me grabbing the new Gran Turismo when it comes out and walking out the store shouting "I think Facebook should be able to use the content aswell".

I just wanted to ask you guys to maybe overthink the reviews and refunds of this. Maybe Steam is going to be not that nice to em because of that and they might not get a chance to make it better if this gets pulled of steam. They are a very small team of devs and lets not forgett this is not a tribble A titel. I know many of you are angry about the current state. Just rethink your actions and what they can leed to.
Simple fact of the matter is, they shouldnt have released the game in its current state. Its obvious that its no where near, and hence they shouldnt have risked ruining their business for financial gain. Bottom line is if you have a community, you dont take a dump on it. You need to at least justify the minimum expected standard - even if you dont hit the top potential right away. They say only the multiplayer needs fixing, if they cant see what else is wrong then they are either lying to the community or incompetent - either ways not flattering

Uh, question. Who the hell is Envy? Seriously, who is he? I've got a tons of robot pictures from Roaming Robots I took from the net, and I never saw Envy, once. Who is he, exactly?
Envy came 2nd to Ripper in 2011, and is also inducted in the "hall of fame". It no longer exists to my knowledge.

Why are all the textures super dinged up?
Or was having them look realistic and undamaged
Having the robots "realistic and undamaged" is counter intuitive. Its like asking for a hot iced tea. These robots start to look damaged and scratched after their first event. Even the new look Dystopia already has visual signs of wear and tear - and its only been to 1 competition. If you want the robots to look realistic, then youll have to accept they will look damaged.

We are now mostly finished with the Robot Wars Live arena, and have exported it into the game for testing. Heres the first in game screenshot :)

Are all new arenas going to be realistic or more like the DSL ones?
Defiantly getting rid of a load of the DSL arenas. In the list i made which i think is what we are generally sticking to there are only 3 left. Realsim is a key point, however its not over riding. The main thing is the arenas need to be interesting in themselves, with tactical usage of hazards and no overbearing features. Good example is Cave will go, because it needs a flat floor to have a fair competition. Electric Arena 1 also has a rather big unavoidable hazard in the middle (the tazer type grill), when you have to stick to the edge of the arena its not the kind of fighting we are going for. Few other ones need serious consideration for either being to basic, needing a complete reskin, being to similar to other arenas, or just simply because they dont play well. We dont want any weak arenas, they need to all be strong to a degree.

Might aswell, the 5th team going to Battlebots is taking a total rebuild of Dystopia called "Enforcer" due to licensing agreements. Only just been finished, theres a few photos below of it in the garden before being shipped to San Francisco tomorrow

At the end of the day, you guys are extremely lucky that any of these robots will be coming to you - and beggars can't be choosers.
The mod team are working very hard on creating loads of new in game bots, and if you feel self righteous enough to complain that one or two bots are being left out then frankly you don't deserve to have any of the robots at all.
The mods are having alot of fun playing with this game, there's no real reason to give it out to anyone else really if they don't appreciate what's been created. The quality level is amazing, far beyond anything else which has ever been created - so really, who the hell cares if Razer isn't in it. Razer isn't robot wars, the over a hundred robots which are in it make up robot wars - because robotic combat is terrible when it's just one robot.
So as said, you can either take the mod as it is, or don't take it at all - your choice. The mod teams doing the best job they can, and there is nothing anyone can say that will change what gets made in the mod

What's the roboteer title?
If you look under my name it says im a "Roboteer" in goldish text, whereas it says you are an "Antweight" which is one of the standard member titles. Also if you search for me on this forum it lists me as a "Real robot builder", again your currently treated like anyone else. One of the admins should soon correct that hopefully.

Where does this guy think he is anyway, Deviantart?
No idea who that guy is, but anyway. The guy in question has tried blackmailing in order to get a copy of the game. By removing permission to use his robots image is how he intends to do this. However we have not included his robot in the game under its current paintjob. We included the version before he owned it because it was alot better and more highly ranked in the uk. He wants us to show him the contract he signed to use his image, which is rubbish because we are not using it at all. Plus we have the agreement of the previous owner, plus the fact he signed the contract. Now the current owner wants to see the contact, which will not provide for him because he is not a signatore, nor a team member/relation of the signatore. He has no right to see the contract, as such the contract is private and confidential. Unfortunately when you buy a robot, you dont generally buy the marketing rights along with it. When I bought Dystopia for example, I was not allowed to keep either the name or paintjob of the robot by mutual agreement. Unless he can prove he bought the rights to all images of the robot, past and present then he has no right to view the contract.

Words cannot describe my feelings of the awesomeness of that replica.
How about rofantawesome? I mean that's why that word exists.
You guys do realise this is why the word "Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious" was invented? :P
Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious has nothing to do with robots!
Well, rofantawesome has nothing to do with robots. However since Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious is in the dictionary, it has something to do with english.

Dem wheels
HNNNNGH THOSE WHEELS!
Looking amazing.
Yes the wheels are that big in real life :) At this years featherweight champs, Defector was the only invertible flipper. It was also statistically the most powerful working flipper at the champs aswell, which helped it on its way to 4th place in its first attempt. Also, another nice little surprise. Here is Dystopia and Defector together ingame And together in real life

Just thought i would unveil the newest robot to the mod, its the 2011 Uk Champion version of Ripper. Currently i own this version of Ripper in the form of Dystopia, however i did use to own it in Ripper form aswell so it will be going into my team in game. Below are Real life and in game shots of the two heavyweights you will be fighting against in Team G.A.R Ripper Mk5 Real life Ripper Mk5 in-game Dystopia Real life Dystopia in-game NoteAlso, both my featherweights will be in the game. However we are not sure which one will be in my in game team yet. If anyone wants to suggest which they would like in the game, then simply choose between the two below. Defector2014 Uk Featherweight 4th place. As of this years Uk championships, Defector is the 2nd most powerful featherweight flipper in the world (behind Flow). Defector is invertible, which a short stroke but powerful flip. There is a video of Defector fighting for the last place in the semi finals this year below. UtopiaA featherweight version of Dystopia, which is currently not completely built yet. Photo below of how it looks currently, with only the scoop now to be put in place (which will be visually similar to Dystopias.)
