Real Robotics Discussion / Swarmbots info
« on: November 17, 2009, 08:43:40 PM »
Ah... Saw something like this on the Science Channel.  However the bots were much bigger, but a similar concept applied.

A number of Frisbees, of two groups of colors were distributed randomly about an octagonal area.  The bots were equipped with a claw to pick the Frisbees up, as well as a sensor to determine the color of said disk.  Bots wander randomly until they hit (and pick up) a disk.  If the disk is color A, the bot will move forward and then drop it.  If color B, the bot will carry it until it hits another disk.  This programing, given enough time, will sort the Frisbees into two groups by color.

Cool.

Existing Games / Worms

I've got worms 2 for PC, Armageddon for PS1, and 3-d for PS2.  Favorite being Two.  Its the customization that I like.

The Prod is hilarious. I like using the homing-cluster bomb as a makeshift air strike.

Me trying to abuse havok as a weapon, and failing.  Anyway, behold:

The Incredible, Edible* Havok Generator!

It die too quickly, nor have I seen anything havok.  However its many pistons serve another function.  It can use them to jump and occasionally fly.

*actual degree of edibility varies.  side effect include nausea, soggy bagels, runny nose, and swine flu.

Discussion / DSL Reps! Which ones would you like?
« on: October 20, 2009, 08:24:35 PM »
I'd like to see Snake.  Though i can barely remember it from when i saw it on TV years ago, I thought it was unarmed. How'd it win?

I personally considered doing Tiger Wood from Robotica, but i need some research...

I'd like to see an AI pack where people made a team based of their avatar\sig\screenname or an interest\hobby.  Esp if it was made for pure whimsy rather than difficulty.

(everyone knows red ones go faster :P)

Heh, I remember in Warhammer 40K the Orks had a special rule that if you paint the vehicles red, they could travel farther.

I like Blue, Orange, and British Racing Green.  Then again I like all colors...

The GMF is in the folder small_wedge.  The TXT is in the styles folder as the same name.

Improvement...

The inside is the same.  Couldn't make it faster without unbalance.  Weight somewhere in the 600~700 range.

By converting 3 ants into 1 battlepack, you save 3 kg and lose 2 amps.  Not entirely worth it, as I need to gain weight.

I thought i had entered something...

It was rather early, so if you misplaced it or something, I'd be willing to replace it.
