General Support / New to online play

Hi Everyone... Just a few questions... (I realize I'm a total Noob)
I've been playing single player for a while now, and just decided to play online. I have a default installation that I ran the factory 1.3 patch on (It was the only way I could fix some of the graphics).
My question is this: When I use the default "Multiplayer" option, all the Internet games it finds it tells me I have the "incorrect version." Therefore, what version is most commonly being played? If it is 1.2, is it possible to "downgrade" or should I start over and just reimport my team/bot data? Any addition info (Including info on the "DSL-TC" versions) would be helpful as well. Thanks guys.
