As some of you may know, I'm saving up money for a gaming PC. I was thinking today about what OS to put on it. I was going to put on XP, but I hears that more and more games are becoming incompatible with XP. So my choices are:
◘Windows XP
◘Windows 7
◘Ubuntu (Linux)
◘Buy a mac (Very, very, very unlikely)
◘Have 2 operating systems.
I will be using the PC for pretty much everything, Homework, Gaming (Both games such as CoD and Minecraft and RA2) and internet.
I will, most likely, also be keeping my laptop with Vista, if that makes a difference.

I would say dual-boot with Windows and Mac.

To get Mac OSX you need a Mac, correct? They are hideously overpriced, and would not fit my needs. I don't even know why I put mac up there. Derp.
Which windows?

Hackintosh. Torrents.
I'd pick XP or 7. None of the others.

Get all 3 of them, with 7 as your primary. IDK why, but transfering between system OS' seems to be easier with 7.

Unless you've actually tried Ubuntu, don't knock it. You've gotta adapt to it.
Also, TRB, for the love of crap, make sure you get NFTS version of XP.

I'm not a fan of OSX, anyways. I don't like the layout, it confuses me. I can't find anything.

Noob question inbound!

Run Win 7 on your new computer.
Wipe the drive clean on your old computer. Install Unix or Ubuntu on the old compy and experiment. You will be shocked at how resourceful those Operating systems are. You can run them nicely on an old computer. Use the old box to run a server, stream media, make it solely a music player, etc etc.
