GT5 is definitely NOT the closest racing game to the real life thing.

Try Live For Speed, or Rfactor, or GTR 2, or GTR Evolution or iRacing.
All of these are by far more realistic than GT5.

Granted they may not have all the fancy graphics that GT5 does, but they are by far more realistic in every other aspect.

Anyway, the first car that im getting is this (Not exact car, but same model)

Parents old car, i already have it but it's falling apart, so im using it as a starter car to build and repair.

Put a well built 454 in it with a turbo 400 with a slight stall and a 9" with 3:73 gears and it would be drive-able.

This is for REALISTIC first cars. Not a Countach. IMO nobody should get a really nice car fo their first car because it is the one they are most likely to wreck.

And check out iRacin for the most realistic (I'm a certified fanboy

). You have to be 13 though, and its pretty hard. And people hate "chipmunks", which are prepubescent little boys like you spamming the mic chat with your little high pitched voices.

I don't, not yet anyway. I want to start it, but i want to get my PC and everything sorted first.
You may have seen im saving up for a gaming PC (the one i have the now is a POS) and so that will take up a good £600+ and i also want a new steering wheel (Logitech Formula Force EX is a standard wheel) so i wont have the monies for iRacing for a long time (Unless i get accepted for this little part time job down at my local cafe), and even then it will probably still be about a year or so (im 14 so at my age the pay is rubbish, better than nothing though).

It does look like a great game though, the only real problem i can see is the monthly/yearly pay thing, when other great games such as Live For Speed are a one time fee.

Have you played LFS yet?

Well iracing can run on crap PCs but it looks pretty crappy. I haven't tried LFS but I have heard good and bad. The game has been good but the Internet is apparently pretty bad compared to iracing (so I've heard) just from lack of regulation and that the netcode isn't as smooth. Iracing is doing the buy one month get 2 free stuff with a code so starting is cheap and you probably won't be buying too much content too quickly. Buuuuut then you get addicted to it and don't want to quit...
