I'd say IRL is more so for beginners of RA2 or even artbot builders.  That me though.

Not sure what you mean from how you phrased that, but I would say that new builders who focus on IRL normally produce kinda trashy bots.

Nah. Basically new builders who jump to IRL to avoid the more complicated meta of the other games tend to be worse. There are of course exceptions ;)

tbf dexterhunter and frezal are vets and they're mostly known for just being old. MNB is already AU tho so idk about him becoming a vet
Maybe these days, but I used to be a moderator at B4B (Bots-4-Battle). I also did some graphics work here and there. I'm not sure how many of my skins were ever actually released, though. (CTC's Long Battery is the only one I remember.)

To be a veteran doesn't just rely on contributions, or how long you stick around. You just kind of become one. You have to be accepted and respected as one. This usually comes with time, but it doesn't have to.

why cant you be around to explain this every time somebody starts crying about wanting ranks  :ouch:

For once the mods did something right

I would probably be around more if I still played the game, but that would require installing Windows on either my iMac or MacBook Pro. Too much work, I tells yas.

I like Macs. There are things Mac does better and things Windows does better. Only thing you do by flaming the other like that is look really dumb and inflammatory.

Macs have Logic which is pretty ace. Obviously there are decent windows alternatives like Reaper but Logic is pretty foolproof.

People went back to IRL because the whole DSL-S thing went dry.

Flail Ram, Wram Popup, TRFBD, and FSnS with 1 usable weapon is not particularly exciting.

Granted IRL didn't last long since it has about 50 thousand house rules.

IRL and DSL both require a different way of building and thinking, they're both slightly different skills really.
And of course they're both awesome when done well.

Yes, IRL requires shutting down your frontal lobe, as every IRL decision makes your bot function worst in game.  You know more weapons are better in RA2 whereas real bots are best 0-1 weapon.  You just end up with nothing but ambiguity.  The compromise is to use outdated IRL bot types that let you weapon spam, such as shells and drums, and ignore the hate from the community.

Then again, real life Battlebots aren't particularly exciting anymore.  It's either everything on 1 spinner or pseudo armored wedge.

Maybe i should rephrase myself, by good IRL i mean artbots basically.
And it's a shame but innevitable really that their would eventually be a narrow meta in real life robot combat.

As an IRL competitor I would highly disagree with you.

The problem is mostly in the upper weight class.

At the lower weight class the material is strong enough to be toss around the arena and still be functional.  At heavy weight the forces are so great that spinners either rips a bot in half or rips itself in half.  Unfortunately TV tends to focus on the heavy weight.

The reason they all go dry is because there's no fun in the mods after awhile. No challenge.
You got my vote for RA2 Wizard. Always and forever.

I have been out of the loop for some time.  I know something happened with helloface, so I am going to assume his tourney went nowhere.

Crap.

I was looking forward to seeing how well some of my entries did in the various tourneys, but none of them seem to have gone anywhere.

Helloface actually did record the entire tourney, but he's slow as sh** at actually uploading them.

How you make Alarm Clock Pizza is:
Step 1: You buy an alarm clock from the store, and then you have to break it and put it in the sauce.
Step 2: Fold the sauce in 5 slices and put it in the dough.
Step 3: Paint the eggs with a pitcher of a clock showing what time you want to wake up and eat pizza for breakfast.
Step 4: Put the eggs in the dough.
Step 5: Make it flat into a round shape and draw the time you want on it.
Step 6: Put some old steel to prevent other peple from stealing it.
Step 7: Make it flat and cut into 60 slices 1 for each minute in 1 our.
Step 8: Put in the oven set the timer to 30048813.2884 seconds and put the temperature on 'Volcano' setting.
Step 9: If you think it is take to long, then get yor alarm clock and set it to now so that it will ring and you can take it out.
Step 10: Take it out uv the uvin wen it is redy and go to bed. In the morning eat pizza and also eat yor hands bi mistake.
