It's original name was ": gawe :" which was short for "goose awesome", with "awesome" being that stupid :D emote with the eyes rolling back to the upper right or whatever. Goose drew a really, REALLY bad version of it on MSN Messenger one night and I ended up tracing over it to vectorize it and use it as an emoticon. The one used here is the same one I traced over almost a decade ago, haha. Another community member, Fuzzoom, made a terrible version of that emote that saw use as the lesser-remembered ":fawe:" face.
