Avast is a good anti-virus once you "legitimately" acquire the full version of it.Edit: Now that XP support is gone for good I must be more careful and think on updating it...
I will have to see about the "legitimately" full version of avast.Also Windows 7 isn't too bad. Though it is a bitch on security.

MSE is actually pretty decent, just because it's by Microsoft doesn't mean it's bad. HA is right though, if you know what you're doing you should be safe from most malware.
