I don't write it because it makes me look like a know-it-all, I just write it because I write what I think, and can't be arsed to thin out the text after writing whatever I write, it's nothing to do with making me seem to be more intelligent than I am, and more down to the fact that I try to put everything into one post without it being misconstrued in any way, shape, or form, and whilst attempting to not insult anyone...a lot of it probably comes from the essays I have done, where the tutor has said to flesh things out and give as much detail as possible, but oh well.

I've seen a lot of people write out long, wordy, and well thought out posts - both on this forum and others.  There were two fundamental differences between them and you:

• They only did it when they needed to explain something complicated.  You do it at any given opportunity.
• Their posts were full of relevant, detailed information.  Yours are full of fluff (fully writing out contractions, filling posts with irrelevant information, run-on sentences, etc).

Ideally, your last post should have sounded something like this:

I write out long posts because that's the way I think, not because it makes me look like a know-it-all.  I want to get my message across as clearly as possible, so sometimes that means making the posts a bit wordy.

See that?  It's short, yet it gets the same point across equally as well as your post (or better than your post, if you ask me).

Your post, on the other hand had this:

...which was just blatant repletion of this:

Plus, you decided to tack this bit on:

How is that information even relevant?  All you needed to say in your post was something along the lines of "I make my posts long because I wan't them to be clear and detailed," but instead you go off on a pointless tangent about how you've written a bunch of highly detailed essays.   Because of its lack of relevance, it sounds like thinly veiled bragging.

Like I said before, I write what I think, when I think it, and can't be arsed to shorten it down (or genuinely can't think of a way to shorten it down), and that last part should've read something more along the lines of 'my tutors told me to flesh things out, and be as detailed as possible, so I absorbed that into my natural writing style' rather than arrogant in any way (honestly, my essays are no better than any of the posts I make, hell, I'm surprised that I got MMM as my final grade at college). Tangents are mainly because of this friend at college, although I try to bring them around to be relevant in some way (that last part was less of a tangent and more of a 'actually, this could also be a contributing factor to the way I type, I will tag it on to the end'). And yes, your version was better, but I find it difficult to shorten things I have written, I generally don't like using acronyms (no idea why that is), I do constantly repeat myself (I'm pretty sure that I mentioned that somewhere else), and I have written short posts before, albeit few and far between. Either way, I apologise if my posts have been bothersome to anyone, and I also apologise because they will probably continue to be bothersome in the same way...it would probably help if I had learned how to utilise paragraphs (yet another thing commented on by tutors).
