@ kill: I'd agree with you but that would make the ass kissing thing correct.

I figured you would, because I actually had you specifically in mind when I was writing that. You were that noob who was hated by all
@ kill: I'd agree with you but that would make the ass kissing thing correct.

I figured you would, because I actually had you specifically in mind when I was writing that. You were that noob who was hated by all once too.
once too.
Come to think of it, I was never really hated. I got all of the n00b out of my system on day 1 and ended up being generally liked. Then I came back after a few years and I'm magically a vet.

Oh and @ Jonzu. You will never leave because you've realized that bad attention is still attention. You're a forum masochist.
im just waiting for meganerdbomb to come along and kick things into gear.

The problem with GTM is that some of the members have to bash something. To some, it's like a motion in order to stay alive, they have to flame someone every few days, or they die. This is not a baw fest, this is a rant.

Let's look at previously bashed members, shall we:
Garvin is gone
Hard Bot and Avalanche seldomly post
027 LB has no Junkyard access
Sparkey is Banned
TX is Improved
Team 9 is Improved
Ben Purse is bearable.

They aren't many people to flame, so they target Ben Purse and Jonzu for random reasons. Like S32 said, a lot of the time it's for no reason. Why do it then? Why flame someone for no reason. I wont name and shame people but I can name at least 5 people guilty of this if I wanted to.

And as you can see, bashing Joe may have seemed good at the time, but it just made a valued member of this small community leave indefinitely. This is also selfishness as well, Joe worked hard on Backlash and you just flame him for not being able to finish it, even though this was a one man project, and a massive mod for this game.

There's a lot of people who don't get involved (who I respect), and the ones who try and stop it (which is even better). I'd rather someone nice but hopeless at bot building than someone who is a complete dick and wins every tournament (Gary Oak comes to mind)

Sometimes, people bash another user simply due to rep. Although they try and disguise this, clearly it's because this member is not valued enough in the community as others. So what if they are as bad as someone like Garvin or Sparkey, they have every room for improvement. We should cherish every member in this community, because if we just argue, we aren't going to get far.

To the TL;DRers, if we keep flaming people for reasons that don't make sense, or not very strong ones (such as Backlash, if you read my comments on that), then this community is generally not a strong one for its size.

I just realised how BS easy our GCSE's are. Tell me where this makes sense:

Top mark: 45
A* @:29

What...? The WORST I could do could be a 25...

I got 3 A*, 7 A's, 2 B's and a D with no effort at all. That is how easy they are. However,p ut effort in, it'll get you better grades. I kinda regret not putting it in now :P

LOL, my revision consistent of stealing someone's notes 10 mins before the exam. Still did great.
Better than GK since 2009.

I don't regret not revising. I am sure that if I had revised, I would have done worse. I was relaxed before, didn't revise, was relaxed in the exams, I got 1 D (English Literature (some crap about Shakespeare and poetry), 2 Cs (Graphic Products and RE short course), 4 Bs (Additional Science, English Language (the one that matters), Maths, and Business Studies), and 3 As (Science, IT (A* in both tests, B in both sets of coursework, combined to make an A), Japanese). The way that I saw it is that revision would lead to stress, and stress would lead to forgetfulness which would lead to more stress. Of course, I will never know what would have happened if I decided to not play games, but oh well, I still think that I would have done worse had I revised.
Yes that sequence of words I just said made perfect sense.

Freeziez has a habit of doing dumb things at times and has pretty much been one of the people you all are talking about on the flaming thing.

I agree with Kill beyond a certain point. When someone posts something which someone else doesn't like normally a few people start to claim that they disagree or find it offensive/immature/ignorant for whatever reason, but then more and more arrive and then there's basically a huge multi-page buildup of completely useless crap beyond those first couple of posts.

I am willing to show disagreement or say that I see fault in people, but no further. Beyond that point is neither necessary nor wanted by either me or the people on the receiving end. If it's a matter of self promotion I'm willing to deflate the balloon but never try and go too far.

Simply put people, constructive criticism points out fault and usually offers ways round it. When you get to insults or even a point put more forcefully than needed it loses its effectiveness and meaning. Piling up a huge number of responses doesn't help either.

My views on Freeziez is that he's a great member when he's contributing but he used to fall into states of confrontation. These days he has stopped and I respect him for being able to do that.

And has run 5 of the most successful tournaments of recent times, within the space of a few months. A little respect is deserved if you ask me, for dedicating that much spare time to it.

I remember when this community wasn't a bunch of bitches who couldnt take jokes. While I remember what kill is talking about with noobs getting mad sh** for no reeason, that really was just the old forum, and never really transferred to gtm. I can speak for myself and say I was never bashed by inf or pys, but I for some reason carefully made sure I never posted anything retarded for the fear of getting bashed.
