Play a Game of Demolition and then you'll see spawn killed.

IMO CoD has its strengths in the customization of classes but you can kill people far to easily. I mean, sure, it's not Goldeneye which occasionally lets you snipe people from half the way across the map with shotguns, but it is very easy to be killed almost instantly by SMGs (which are also way too acurate). In TF2 actually killing someone is a real challenge in most situations, and the team based element improves things immensely. In addition the weapons for each class can be balanced rather easily as the best weapon for each class is down to personal use rather than simply being better or having tradoffs of ammunition for damage or vise versa, which CoD does a lot.

Also, playing on PC (as Cynical Brit said) for some of the CoD games is a real chore due to too small a field of vision, letting people flank you too easily and making you use the minimap far more than you should.
