You were implying that 'online is good', not 'online, if implemented correctly, is good'. Besides, not having it on a game will probably make no difference, I can agree with console though, to a degree, people will still buy it, but it will probably die a painful death and leave the company in debt.

Alos, if Online is really going to be used, why not have an original format rather than the usual "kill your buddies, take the command points" sort of approach used only too often? Playing a genuinely diverse set of ideas like a boss rush, or exploration game would be good.

All of that is subject to opinion. Some people dislike the campaign, others dislike the online, you like both, that is your opinion.

My opinion is that I like playing zombies with my dad, the campaign is moderately good, and the online made my brain try to eat itself.

I don't see how Multiplayer can even compare to the single player experience. Limited maps, few obectives and repetitive matches vs ever differing environments, changing missions and a new experience each level.

Simple, you're pwning real people instead of bots, thus it's a better test of your skills, and the experience is different every time.

Simple, you're pwning real people instead of bots, thus it's a better test of your skills, and the experience is different every time.

Because of course "pwning" makes a game great.

Just no. Having atmosphere, good controls, a unique playing experience and many other factors are more important than pwning things. It's almost as though your only referring to FPS single player, because that's the only situation I really pwn anything (other than sending bots flying up in the air and havoking in Oblivion).

But the thing is that people may know that they mean that it is their opinion, but may not say it. I do enjoy online, but it isn't the be all and end all of a console, if a console has good enough technology/games, people may just go 'it would be better with online' but still play it, I doubt people looking at a console, seeing it doesn't have online, and deciding that it isn't worth it.

@FO: What about the Game Boy Pocket? Gotta love Tetris. Also, to correct you, the Dreamcast was the first console to have online capability, pretty much opening it up for other companies.
