It might be cheap, but the waste is pretty horrendous, and we've no idea what to do with it. Hydroelectric power, however, is a genuinely renewable and infinite source of power, plus if there's ever a surge in demand, hydroelectric generators can be switched on instantly, instead of waiting a few minutes for the coal or oil powered furnaces to heat up.
