The guys in charge of Battlebots were former competitors themselves.  They were experts at putting on a self-serving display, but came up short in terms of moneymaking, branding, and sustainability.

I would like to give a fair and balanced opinion on the RW vs Battlebots rivalry :

Robot Wars was a joke. Battlebots, they knew what robot COMBAT was.

It's like professional wrestling vs actual martial arts.

There, now that you have heard my opinion, I wish you a nice discussion.

"HURR BECAUSE ALL AMERICANS ARE FAT!" Yeah, well that's like all Americans going all over Youtube saying that every person from the UK has terrible hygiene. Do we do that? We sure as Hell don't, because it's not true.
Well, we don't sell XXXXXXXXXXXXXL size clothing. I've seen them in America, and not in shops for 'overly large', either. And, to be fair, not many in America need that sized clothing, but in Britain I've certainly never seen anything beyond XXXL.

The US does have insanely obese people, but that's because it's a huge country, and with a big populations, you have a higher chance of having someone like that compared to a smaller country (like Britain.)

We may be a relatively small country, but our population is quite large. You only have 5 times the population size of ours, so that shouldn't mean that we have no hugely obese people, and Britain is the most obese nation in Europe. I've seen NOBODY anywhere near needing even a XXXXL. I've never seen anywhere that sell beyond that size, and I've lived here my whole life. I'm in America for a week and I see you selling sizes four times that big.

Never trust Enigma. =P

If we did ban non-builders, I would be gone, as would GoldenFox, Scourge, Garvin, and pretty much most of GTM. I don't check showcases much, but I think that Sonny is the only regular builder, and he only does replicas. And possibly Naryar, IDK, I haven't checked his showcase in ages.
There is your problem...

I frankly don't think we're any better than Americans in terms of bodyweight. I know far too many people who are overweight and a few who are obese,  so I honestly think there's very little ground to talk.
The only issues I have with the US are the politics, conservatism and nationalism. That's pretty much it. In the UK I hate the nationalism (nothing gets worse than the olympic commentary :P), weather, and attitudes about other countries. Our politics are crap atm too. I liked Sweden, belgium and Germany more than the UK so I think mainland Europe is generally a bit better than us.

I disagree with the idea of disliking an entire country's people, period. It really depends on the Americans (I've met tonnes of cool, friendly Americans in my time, so it's not something I'd do).

That's why I'm wondering why ICB felt the need to respond with a list of facts we all already know about America. It felt like he was justifying the senseless stupidity.

No, I wasn't justifying stupidity, I was refering to what HA said (which I quoted), saying that Americans don't mention British lack of hygiene because it's not true, so British people shouldn't mention American obesity in the same way. I was pointing out that there is some truth to obesity in America, and we only mention it because it is quite predominant. We don't say that we don't have problems with our own country, though.

I do know that obesity is an issue in the US, but that doesn't mean that everyone here is a fat tub of sh** or that just because someone is overweight means they must be American. My main issue is that some feel the need to point out the UK's "superiority" over the US every time they get a chance.
