Anyone planning on going? This year we've got the big 4 of thrash and also Mastodon, Motorhead and Diamond Head.
-
Aaah, I'd love too, maybe I should, I dunno.
-
I'm not overly interested. I do know somebody who is going though..
And you cant forget Biffy. How they got to headline is anyones guess xD
-
If I go I'm avoiding the 3rd days headline :laughing
-
*Knebworth
and yeah, I've booked my tickets already. Last year was a blast so I just had to go again, especially with the lineup :P
Big 4, Biffy, Weezer, Slipknot <3

-
You care about the slipnot? :laughing
-
SLIPKNOT ARE GONNA BE THERE!!!!!!
*runs away*
-
I don't particularly care, but I listen to their music. Besides, it's probably their last tour... part of history ;p
-
It's the Slayer, Deth and Motorhead for me.
-
It's the Hetfield, Deth and Motorhead for me.
Fixxxed
-
Metallica, Slayer, Biffy and Weezer are the bands I'm most looking forward to. Slayer were awesome last year so I can't wait to see them again :D
-
Slipknot? Bleh. :p
I'll go for Slayer and Megadeth if I can make it, and Slayer should have the biggest title on there, not Metallica, but oh well.
-
Metallica are the bigger band. That's why they have the bigger title. You can say Slayer are better, yeah, but Metallica are bigger.
-
Slayer are overated and there music dull and unexperimental.
Although, I don't know, I haven't seen their live performances though if that what you guys are talking about.
-
Meh. I personally do prefer Metallica but Raining Blood is a sweet song :P
-
Slayer's most expiermental album was probably South Of Heaven. And by expierimental, I mean slow. :P

Quoted for truth

Deth, Slayer and Motorhead are for me.

I see Gojira is there. Would be fun.
-
Moar announcements.
House of Pain, You Me At Six, All Time Low, Sum 41, Arch Enemy, Periphery, Grinspoon and Fozzy all announced. :D
-
Nothing stands out for me. I don't like the only two ones that would appeal to me, Periphery and Arch Enemy. Wish Carcass got off their lazy butts:P
-
Another 'nnouncement.
The Mars Volta, Opeth, Killing Joke, Four Year Strong, The Black Dahlia Murder, Black Tide, Watain, Firewind, Rise To Remain, Alestorm, The Treatment, Six Hour Sundown.
Also more bands split into their respective days. Line-up poster here :3

I have bought my tickets, I hope to see some of you guys there.

Yeah, I'll be one of the guys with the faggy haircuts that no-one can stand and I'm surprised I didn't get beat up for last year ;)

See you guys there ;)
-
We need GTM badges or something :P
-
Hah, seem as though I think it's only the 2 of us, it's hardly worth a meetup... more people should come o: XD
-
BUMP.
I would actually love to go after seing the lineup but i have recently paid for tickets to the reading festival : /
-
I think the absolute best metal festival this year is Bloodstock (It has Kreator, Exodus, At The Gates, Morbid Angel, Nevermore, Motorhead, Angel Witch, Coroner, Forbidden; in fact, it's just generally awesome). Shame I'm not going to that.

I'd almost prefer Reading this year, the Friday looks amazing, the Saturday isn't bad and the Sunday makes me want to cry with sadness at me not going (Muse? Playing MY FAVOURITE ALBUM IN FULL? Crycrycry.)
Still, Rock Royalty at Soni isn't bad ;)

I thought that Friday and Saturday looked dreadfully emo/immature/boring for Reading. Sunday looked good though.
-
Offspring, Deftones and White Lies are awesome on the Friday, but I'd go and see practically everyone on the main stage.
Saturday? Strokes, Pulp, Madness. 'Nuff said ;)
-
I will be almost there this time in 2 days... :D
Anyone else going now?
-
Mastodon, The Mars Volta, Opeth, Killing Joke... Holy crap I wish I was going. Sounds awesome :O
-
Killing Joke is cool but I'll be busy at the big 4 at the time.
Never mind Mastodon.
-
Mars Volta is gonna kick ass, but tbh I'm more excited for the bands directly before and after them, so I'm worried they'll get.. overshadowed (':
We should probably have a GTM photo at some point, probably Thursday evening or Friday morning if you're there :P
-
I would go, But I don't live in the UK. D:
-
Everything that you would expect to be good was great other than Anthrax.
Just a thing, Alestorm were absolutely AMAZING live and by far the must fun act there.
Opeth was amusing due to some really un-subtle comedy from Mike ("I'm just a poor watchmaker, that's why my timing is so good"). Musically very good.
Anthrax lacked energy, Scott's absence really effected the band.
'Deth were good. Their new song isn't.
Slayer were fun, plus Jeff Hannemann was still ill, meaning we got Gary Holt from Exodus instead, which made it a secondary highlight.
Gojira were fun. Very good live.
Periphery were much better live than on album because the vocalist didn't sound like his whiny self.
Mastodon were decent, though I found them unimpressive :trollface
Slipknot ruined day 3. Naturally.
Bill Bailey was great, really amusing.
In Flames sucked. Naturally.
-
Wish I was there...
I would kill to see Megadeth live.
-
New megadeth song?
Let me guess, sweep fest?

Nah, just kinda dull thrash. Not as good as the stuff on Endgame.
But damn, Alestorm are honestly great live. You might want to try their album versions for a bit of a taster.

I already know, and like Alestorm, I know a few people at my school who can't shut up about them lol
And dull thrash? Sounds to me better than what they had on endgame ;P
-
Nothing they make will ever better than Peace Sells But Who's Buying.
Evar.

The riffs are staler than Endgame's. Less solo happy though.
Yeah, that makes Warbringer's Waking Into Nightmares the best thrash album of 09.
-
Hmm, I need to here some Warbringer den.

Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee super off topic.

Amaaaazing weekend. Seem as though the metal has pretty much been reviewed (but Slipknot were pretty good), the alt-rock scene was pretty awesome there too.
Biffy Clyro - Better than I expected them to be, seem as though I thought people would bottle them. My weekend highlight, especially getting up front for it.
Weezer - Kicked aaaass, as they do. I stroked Rivers' hair ;)
You Me At Six - Kinda really sucked. I can usually live with their music but their performance was baaaad.
Kids In Glass Houses - Amazing, actually. So energetic, given the rain. Got up front, again XD
RICHARD CHEESE - DAMN, HE SO GOOD. Got on the big screens, being at the front when he walked around :')
Bill Bailey - also awesome. Almost got stuck in a mosh pit for his Rammstein-styled cover of 'Scarborough Fair' and 'Hokey Cokey' (':
In all? Amazing weekend :D
-
Any vids of Bailey about yet?
