Title: SKBT needs xbox help...
Post by: SKBT on June 14, 2012, 03:34:11 PM
I'm having xbox issues

I'm trying to get a movie off of it onto my computer.

1. I put an empty 1.8g usb drive in my xbox.
2. I go to the storage configuration menu on the xbox.
3. I configure it for the xbox then it says that the amount of available space is 1.3g.

any way around this?

can I hook directly link my computer to xbox or would it try to configure my computer and brick it?

You could take your hard drive to your local computer shop and get them to burn the film onto a dvd.

try plugging in your computer directly but if it asks you DO NOT FORMAT IT it takes up about 1/3rd of you're memory and reserves it for xbox file use only otherwise there isn't a way around this that i'm aware of apart from a larger memory stick.

You could take your hard drive to your local computer shop and get them to burn the film onto a dvd.

The computer shop would likely charge him $65 an hour for labor and $15 for the blank dvd.

For that kind of money he could get a 32 Gig USB drive and not have to worry about it.

On that note, you could get a 16 gig for 13 bucks:

The xbox won't allow you to use all the space on the drive because it needs to set aside space for "system space" or something dumb like that.
Damn you Bill Gates.

Done...

Now my next question...

How do I convert the xbox data into a usable movie?

Right now it's got files named data### (1-16) and no associated file type varying in sizes from 1g to 3.6mb. Do I need to find a converter or xbox emulator? Or do I simply associate the file with another file type?
