Title: Robot Wars and BattleBots Toys/Merch Thread
Post by: Tibsy on March 02, 2015, 05:42:44 AM
My dad and me had some trouble putting a new dishwasher into an empty space under the counter, no matter what we did, it looked crooked in its space (a corner was cocked out) when I went under the counter to see the problem, I wasn't expecting to see this:

Which makes me think, as a kid I don't think I collected ALL of these, did anyone on GTM collect all the minibots?

Also, what was your favorite piece of Robot Wars/Battlebots Merchandise?

Here's my minibots collection, taken from this thread: https://gametechmods.com/forums/index.php?topic=16017.20 (https://gametechmods.com/forums/index.php?topic=16017.20)
Ugh, camera problems meant I only just got the pictures I said I would take. Still, here they finally are. There were more minibots, but these are the only ones I own.
I've also given my personal opinion on every minibot since I don't have a fancy website of my own to put them on :P

Nice, problem is where I came from they closed down the toy shop which sold them (Chadds).
So far, this Dominator 2 minibot is the only one I got left. I'll update this if I find more...

Retitled the thread Tibsy, hope you don't mind. Would be a useful thread to have around - might move it to Real Robotics Discussions at some point also.

The only Minibots I didn't have were Gemini, Tornado and Firestorm, still got the rest in fair condition, as well as all the pullbacks plus RC Matilda/Sir K/Bash/Tornado and all 3 Pitstop kits. Also had some BB stuff, mainly Grip 'n' Grapplers. Frenzy was my favourite.

You read my mind dude xD

There were so many bots they could've RC'd, especially Dominator 2.

I still have a mint Biohazard giant rc that hasnt had a working battery in years. The same one that Headbanger's D12 was made from. The Disector one was even cooler.

As I was growing up watching Battlebots, I used to get the McDonald's bot toys. I think I got all of them except for the Tentomushi one.

After looking at the RC battlebots toys, I feel envious.
Robot Wars had RC toys sure, but a lot were just the house bots... It would have been nice to have the competitors who deserved to have RC toys of their bots... (Besides Tornado, can't think of any more)

I had a lot of Robot Wars related stuff when I was a kid but I used to love this:

A lunch box which I never put lunch in:

I put these in instead:

I played with these along with a mini arena I had a bit too much as a kid.

I remember having Stinger one Christmas and bloody loving it. It was my favourite present that year and my parents gave it to me last because they knew I wouldn't open any others after it.

Jerome Miles also has some of the RC toys. He lets his kids play with them while he works on his bots!

I think it's cool that they're doing that, exposing a new generation to the sport.

I have a bunch of Battlebots Battle Bashers, but the container they're in looks a lot like the box full of toy animatronic parts in FNAF 3 due to the abuse I put them through and I have the Minion Metal Mechanics with the claw still attached but I've lost track of the front wedge piece.  I also had the arena, Tazbot, Diescector, and Toro Grip N' Grapplers.

Posting a quote from another topic sometime ago.

I'll show my pullbacks:

Random facts:

Dantomkia, Wheely Big Cheese and Panic Attack are in perfect condition.
The Dantomkia I own is actually my 2nd one. The 1st one got lost while on holiday in 2005.
Pussycat's blade is broken in half.
Chaos 2 and Razer has lost it's wheel and wings respectively.
Firestorm's front wheel's are gone. Took it out cause I thought it would improve the wedge.
Sir Killalot, Matilda and Hypno-Disc has lost it's hammer, chainsaw and other interchangeable back respectively.
X-Terminator was the latest one I got. I bought back in 2010.

Also used to have Dead Metal, Shunt, Growler, Stinger and Tornado. Stinger was buried in the sand by my older cousin around 2007. He thought it would be funny to see me run around trying to find it. Can't remember what happened to Tornado and Growler. Stinger and Shunt got lost while moving to another part of the country.

I also own all the Robot Wars cards and Robot Wars: Arenas of Destruction for PC. Threw out the Board Game a while back to make room in my closet.
